Moisturizers -Olay - Regenerist UV Defense Regenerating Lotion SPF 50
meliae 4/26/2012 6:26:00 PM
I used this for 2 days in place of my normal SPF, with no other change to my routine. It made me break out with tiny whiteheads all over my face and neck, and blotchy bumps all over. Normally my skin in clear, so I'm sure it's this. I've never had this kind of reaction to any product before, silicones, or fragrances, so I'm not sure what it is about this that causes the problems. In addition, the product itself has a strong smell, and it balls up and sloughs off your skin super easily if you touch your skin or try to apply anything on top. Total fail for Olay.

Foundations -BeneFit Cosmetics - Play Sticks
meliae 12/22/2009 6:26:00 AM
I'm apparently white as a sheet, and the lightest shade in this stuff (Spin the Bottle) was like 5 shades too dark for me. It looked like I was dressing up for halloween as a college girl on spring break in ft lauderdale. (Yes, all those prepositions symbolize how very far away from my true shade it was!) On their website it looks like it would be sufficiently pale, but noooooo it is not. Beware, fellow pallid ladies! (For your reference, I'm shade 110 in MUFE HD Invisible Cover foundation.) The packaging and the consistency of this seemed ok, for the half-minute I wore it.

Cleansers -Bliss Labs - clog-dissolving cleansing milk
meliae 12/22/2009 6:15:00 AM
Pros: Left my skin very soft and nice feeling. Cons: -- Broke me out with little whiteheads all over :( Normally I don't break out and this was the only thing new in my routine, so I'm pretty darn sure this was it. I kept trying for another week or so with no better results. -- I couldn't get the bottle to pump; I had to remove the whole top to get any product. (This from a master at opening champagne!) I wish they'd bring back sleeping peel cleansing cream :(

Fragrances -Tocca - Solid Perfume in Stella
meliae 12/22/2009 6:02:00 AM
Oh god I love this scent. And also that it comes in a solid. The form makes it really easy to apply a little bit so your scent stays close to your body instead of filling the entire room and assaulting others. I actually put it on before I go to bed sometimes; it smells so heavenly that it's divine to fall asleep to. It seems a little too floral for work but I wear it to work anyway and trust that no one's going to get close enough to smell it.

Treatments (Eye) -100 Percent Pure - Coffee Bean Caffeine Eye Cream
meliae 12/22/2009 5:54:00 AM
I LOVE how this smells, but unfortunately it doesn't do a damn thing for me. I've been putting it on my puffy eyelids & under-eye areas right after I wake up for a couple of weeks now. I've scrutinized the results and sadly it hasn't worked once even a tiny bit. I reeeeeally wanted this to work since it smells so wonderful, but I won't be buying it again. I'll use it up just because it makes me happy to smell something so delicious in the morning though... I wish they had a perfume of it!

Moisturizers -Murad - Oil-Control Mattifier
meliae 5/6/2009 6:13:00 PM
I have combination skin and normally have to use multiple blotting tissues several times throughout the day to control oil. This product really lasts a long time and I see a noticeable improvement in the amount of oil on my face throughout the day. With it, I only have to use blotting tissues at the very end of my work day. So in that way, it's fantastic. And I love that it includes sunscreen, without feeling heavy or at all greasy like most sunscreens and moisturizers do. I've tried just about every moisturizer with sunscreen and facial sunscreen out there under $50, and this feels the best and kept me the most matte. However, I have noticed that it makes me break out a tiny bit, which is a tiny bit too much since normally I don't break out at all. My skin is pretty sensitive though, so it might not clog everyone's pores in this way. Still, I won't be buying it again. I'm going to continue using a light moisturizer along with powder sunscreen, and try to find another mattifier that works better for me.

Moisturizers -Zia - Herbal Moisture Gel
meliae 5/6/2009 6:03:00 PM
This serum is incredible! It's so lightweight that I sometimes wear another moisturizer on top of it, which means it's perfect for wearing alone during the summer. I have sensitive skin and break out easily, and this has never broken me out or irritated my skin. Best of all, it's erased the small lines around my mouth and eyes! Not even the super expensive products I've tried from Lancome, Shiseido, Bliss, or a million other fancy brands have succeeded at doing that! However, I have to note that it does nothing to control shine, like it claims. But it's so great for my skin that I don't care.

Masks -Bliss Labs - Instant Mattification 10 min mask
meliae 7/6/2008 4:31:00 PM
This has done nothing for my skin-- it doesn't hurt it, but it certainly doesn't mattify it! I wonder how they can sell so many good products, but so many useless overpriced masks.

Treatments (Eye) -Bliss Labs - Wrinkle Twinkle
meliae 7/6/2008 4:29:00 PM
I got a sample of this through Sephora, and while I normally like Bliss products, this one seemed to do nothing but leave a fine film of white crud under my eyes. Gross. And unnecessary. I have extremely tiny light lines under my eyes, and it didn't plump them up or fill them in at all, even after many uses.

Skincare - Body -Bliss Labs - Ingrown Hair Eliminating Pads

This is a lot more expensive than the same number of uses of Tend Skin, and it doesn't work as effectively.

Lotions/ Creams -Bliss Labs - Foot Patrol
meliae 7/6/2008 4:24:00 PM
This smells and feels nice, better than the majority of foot creams. It seems to sink in really well. However, I wouldn't buy it again because I'm not with-it enough to remember to use a foot cream every night, therefore I can't speak to its efficacy.

Cleansers -Bliss Labs - Sleeping Peel Cleansing Cream
meliae 7/6/2008 4:21:00 PM
This makes my skin feel fantastically soft, and it also clears up any irritation or zits caused by heat rash on my neck and chest. However, it's too exfoliating for the sensitive skin on my nose, and causes flaking. I gave it up for Fabulous Foaming Face wash, but would go back if my skin needed some extra resurfacing.

Scrubs -Bliss Labs - Pore Perfecting Facial Polish

This is a gentle but effective scrub. It really does clean my pores, while not irritating my sensitive skin or leaving a residue.

Moisturizers -Bliss Labs - The youth as we know it
meliae 7/6/2008 4:16:00 PM
I got suckered into buying this from a Sephora employee who told me that you could use it on combination skin if you just use a teeny tiny bit and pat it in. So, that's a wasted $70 or whatever. It feels nice and is very moisturizing, but definitely causes me to break out. It should probably be used only on older or thoroughly dry skin. Also, I question the heavy scent.

Scrubs -Bliss Labs - Hot Salt Scrub
meliae 7/6/2008 4:13:00 PM
This doesn't work even half as well as Origin's ginger salt scrub (which is lovely). This stings, it smells disgustingly medicinal, and it doesn't moisturize well. Not worth the money.
