Shampoo -Unlisted Brand - Generic Value Products Tea Tree Shampoo (Comapre to Paul Mitchell)

Eh... it's good at cleaning your hair, sure, but it's harsh. I've always had extremely thick strong hair, but after a bottle of this, the hair by my temples is thinning, and I have tons of breakage even though I moisturize well and avoid heating tools and chemical hair treatments. It strips too much. I only have a little bit left, and I will either throw it out or use it to clarify. I'm sorry, hair. I tried to be good to you. I thought this would help.

Lipstick -Revlon - Juicy Papaya Lip Butter

Beautiful color, lovely peach without shimmer or glitter, natural, not orange, great on my pale skin. A new favorite, great for spring and summer. Well, any season, really. It's just so nice. It's light without being an understatement for your lips, you know? The formula is smooth, comfortable, and moisturizing... but unfortunately, like all lip butters, it loses a lip with me because of its poor staying power. An hour or two at best.

Lipstick -Revlon - Wild Watermelon Lip Butter

For some reason, red lipsticks always look TERRIBLE and gaudy on me, but I still love wearing lip color. Lip butters are my solution to this, and this color is my favorite red lipcolor I have ever owned. Even my boyfriend called it beautiful on me the first time he saw it! WHAT. Very happy with this, great for girls like me with deathly pallors. Pale gurlz 4 lyfe. The formula is smooth, comfortable, and moisturizing... but unfortunately, like all lip butters, it loses a lip with me because of its poor staying power. An hour or two at best.

Cleansers -Mario Badescu - Enzyme Cleansing Gel

For the most part, my skin is pretty healthy and glowy. Breakouts are rare and typically during that time of the month, and aside from a little oiliness on my forehead, I think I'm pretty blessed. Not perfect, but I'm proud of my skin. After removing my makeup at the end of the day, however, I can't just wash my face with water, moisturize, and go to bed. I need a mild cleanser just to avoid those breakouts, something that does the job, but gently, and this is what I go for. It's the best cleanser I've used so far. I don't use it religiously. I usually don't use it more than once a day, and probably not every day, but I'm pleased with the results. It's good for the skin, sensitive, pleasant scent, and tons of product - a dime-sized drop of the stuff is typically more than enough for me. You can get little bottles at Ulta if you don't want a huge one. I see them in the sample racks often. edit: OH HELLO AHA BURN ON MY FACE. Ugh, seriously? This product was perfect at first, but now I'm scared to use it. Even though I used only the tiniest amount and rinsed it off throughly, it burned my skin. I wear SPF 55 sunscreen every day. Minor amounts of AHA aren't terrible for your skin, but since Papaya and Grapefruit extract are the third and fourth ingredients (both are AHAs) I'm pretty sure this has way too much for my skin to handle.

Lip Treatments -E.L.F. - Studio Lip Exfoliator
rated 4 of 5

Another great product from E.L.F.! My only complaint is that when applying it, the bottom of the product either broke off slightly or became loose and wobbly - if you use lipsticks and apply them straight from the bullet, you're probably are well-acquainted with this problem. It hasn't broken off entirely, though, and I do apply it hard, but it's a scrub, after all. It tastes sweet, smells great, and works better than my homemade brown sugar + olive oil/honey lip scrub. Has a lot of moisturizing ingredients and oils and helps my lips feel soft and moisturized afterwards. I love it, and I'm glad I bought two. I will undoubtably purchase this again.

Makeup Brushes -E.L.F. - Studio Blush Brush

Very good blush brush for the price. Soft bristles, pretty dense. It's great for applying product, but not perfect for blending, so I use my Ecotools Bronzer brush to help blend after I apply with this brush. It's still worth it, considering the low price and all, but it could be better.

Loose Powders -E.L.F. - Studio High Definition Powder

I am actually blown away by this product. It was super cheap and it's got pretty good staying power throughout the day. I didn't need to do touchups or use blotting papers for oiliness and it makes my skin look flawless without attaching noticeably to facial hair or looking cakey. I haven't applied it over foundation, though - only moisturizer, sunscreen, and concealer. My makeup is typically pretty minimal, and I am very happy that I am done looking for a face powder. Highly recommend, wow, wow, wow. edit: I think this was the mystery product that made my skin throw in the towel and have a major temper tantrum. I have cut it out of my routine for a couple weeks now and my breakouts are healing and the acne is going away. Sigh.

BB Cream -Maybelline - Dream Fresh 8-in-1 BB Cream

It looks gorgeous and applies smoothly... at first. This has an oxidizing formula and while it matches skin tone well at first, it darkens hours later. NOT A GOOD LOOK. I'm not a fan of walking around looking like an idiot who can't match her foundation to her neck... I'm so embarrassed I wore this for months before realizing why my makeup always terrible and wayyy too dark by the end of the day.

Lip Treatments -Burt's Bees - Pink Grapefruit Refreshing Lip Balm
rated 4 of 5
melangerehab 3/20/2013 11:23:00 PM

I hate hate HATE the original Burt's Bees balm, but this surprised me. I like the scent and flavor and find it pretty moisturizing. I think I would rebuy it, but I'm knocking a lippy off because I hate hate HATE the packaging and this dinky little cap is so annoying to take off when you're wearing gloves or when you just put lotion on your hands. Very frustrating, but effective product otherwise.

Lip Treatments -Burt's Bees - Beeswax Lip Balm

Overrated poop in a tube. It is a poop placebo. When this waxy poop is on your lips, you feel as though your lips are safe and soft, protected and moisturized. When the poop wears off and rubs off your lips naturally, though, you'll quickly realize that the poop was only empty promises and that your lips are as dry and unhappy as ever. A balm should help your lips both when you're wearing it and when you're not. It should not become something you depend upon 24/7. You should not need to take off that stupid little dinky cap and reapply every hour on the hour in order to have your lips feel okay. I would not rebuy this poop. I do not recommend it to the sweet citizens of MUA. You deserve better than poop, girls.

Lip Treatments -Jack Black - Intense Therapy Lip Balm spf 25
rated 4 of 5
melangerehab 3/20/2013 11:11:00 PM

Wow. Most lip balms I've tried don't really moisturize all that much and only act as a placebo once they're on the lips. This actually makes a difference in my lips softness when the product is all rubbed away. That's... kind of rare for me. It was a super pricey little tube, but it's almost gone, and I am happy that I am pleased enough with a product to want to repurchase.

Lip Treatments -Fresh - Sugar Rose Lip Treatment SPF 15
rated 3 of 5

It's pretty okay. I like the texture and the light natural red tint and I find it more moisturizing than most lip products, but the packaging is annoying and there is SO little product. I got it for my birthday and that was great, but it is not worth paying money for.

I'm actually really surprised this isn't one of UD's super hyped eyeshadows. It's my favorite dark brown. I use it to line my eyes all the time, a must-have for my soft natural makeup looks.

There are not a lot of UD shadows that I would purchase more than once and happily spend $18 on. This is one of them, and one of the few non-neutrals, for that matter. Absolutely beautiful plummy color, perfect shimmer, no fallout. Love.

Pretty color, amazing on fair skin! No fallout problems for me. Blendable, smooth. I find it hard to pair it with other colors, though, so I normally wear it by itself, which feels boring for me.
