Eye Shadow -Coastal Scents - 88 colors warm palette
mel87 4/13/2013 12:42:00 PM
I have to admit I haven't really touched this palette in a long time, because I got quite a few new make up products that I love since then. Anyway, the last two days, I decided to pull out all my poor neglected make up sets to give them a go. And, dare I say it, I realise I actually prefer this to my urban decay naked palette. Weirdly, this palette still works well on me even after having it for 2 years, the colour payoff and everything is still there. They go on perfectly for me and I don't get fall out of any kind. Whereas my naked palette has totally died on me. All the shadows are really hard now and pretty much can't be used at all. I can't even get the tinest bit of colour out of them despite pressing my brush down hard and swiping a few times. Back to coastal scents shadows for me I guess. :)

Palettes -Urban Decay - 15 year anniversary palette

I've had this product for about a fortnight now and i LOVE IT!!... It seems strange that so many people have experienced fallout when I haven't had any sort of problems with it at all. And I do my foundation BEFORE my eyes. (although I haven't used midnight rodeo or midnight 15 yet, which might be the reason why. Love that the colours are not completely matt, so it doesn't take as much effort to look nice. They are also not SO frosty that I need to dig through my other palettes to 'make it work'. All the brighter colours also adds a nice pop to my normally-neutral office look. The packaging is really pretty, but then, quite impractical. Not too sure how you can use it really. Also, I actually think most of the colours are not exactly what you would call 'brand new shades'. But still, not a bad buy overall. If you're bored of the heaps of neutral palettes that you already own (like me), but am still a bit effy about using too many colours on your eyes, this would be a good starting point.

Cleansers -Avene - Soapless Foaming Gel
mel87 2/27/2011 9:14:00 AM
Have been using this cleanser for about a year or so and I love it! Used to have very horrible dehydrated and oily skin and an SA recommended this to me. It's not much of a miracle worker, but after a few months of using this, I noticed that my skin was no longer as dehydrated as it used to be. Follow up with the thermal spray as toner, but I've noticed that if I wait too long in between, my skin can feel just the tiniest bit tight, nothing too extreme though. I'd have to say that even though my skin is much less irritated and dehydrated now, this cleanser doesn't help so much for acne control or oil control. And my pores are all still here to stay, so don't expect it to be a miracle for all skin problems and such. Still, glad that it's solved some of my skin issues. =)

Blush -NARS - Deep Throat

Love this blush to death. I was at the NARS counter last christmas trying out their blushes when I found this jewel there. Just one swipe of it and I get the healthiest looking glow on my cheeks. (NC25) I've been using it on a very regular basis since about 4 months ago and it stills looks almost as good as new, so I probably wouldn't have to rebuy this anytime soon. But would definitely rebuy if I run out. Considering how slowly I'm using it, it's actually not too bad a deal price wise~

Eye Shadow -Kanebo - Lavshuca Eye Color Select quads

love love love love love! A friend helped me get the BR-1,and I have to say, this is my favourite eye shadow now. The pigmentation, I have to say, is not great, or what I would normally like, but just for everyday make up, this is great. Adds definition to the eye without making you look like you put lots and lots of effort into your make up~ =P Also, another good thing about it, as it is in natural tones, it's very convenient to just bring this and nothing else during vacations, as it goes with almost everything, and you can create different looks with it~ Trying really hard to find PU-2 now~ XD.... except they don't sell it where I live...sighs...

Concealers -BeneFit Cosmetics - Boi-ing
mel87 6/11/2010 9:05:00 PM
got this in my realness in concealness kit. Have to use a very light hand with this product, otherwise it ends up looking very cakey. It builds up well though, so you can still get a pretty good coverage. I only use this for my dark circles, and it doesn't cover it totally, but it does look very natural. One of the better concealers I've used in terms of coverage. Something I don't really like about it is that it gives me fine lines on the inner corner of my eyes where I use it. Would still rebuy if I can't find anything better, but not really HG quality for me.

Toners -Clinique - Clarifying Lotion #3
mel87 11/11/2009 4:09:00 AM
I bought the whole clinique 3-step thing 2 years ago, and I swear it was the worst buy EVER! #3 was a bit too drying for my skin, and the lady's advice was to get an oilier moisturizer to balance it out. Being the ignorant being I was then, I believed her. I started getting pimples within a fortnight of using it, but she kept on saying that was how it was, that it cleanses everything out first, and she said it was the exact same thing for her too. After 3 months, I had full blown acne, which took me a good year to get rid off, AND I still have the scars to show now. I guess this may work better for something with tougher skin, but on the whole, I feel that you can get a lot of better cheaper products. The design of the bottle isn't too good either, everything just comes poring out (which may have been their aim). The only 'good' thing I can think of I guess, is that for people whose skin are not sensitive, this is considered pretty cheap for a department brand.

Liquid -Ettusais - Flat Design Liquid AC Control Oil
mel87 11/6/2009 5:05:00 PM
I have very sensitive and oily skin, normally foundations only last an hour or 2 on me before it's gone, and this lasts the whole day on me! Plus it doesn't give me any rashes and such, which most other brands I try does. Coverage is not that good though, since it's just a very thin layer, and I find that it doesn't give your face the glow that some other foundations do. Price is a bit steep but a bottle lasts me more than a year so it's not too bad. Still great overall, especially if you have very sensitive and acne prone skin.
