Eyeliner -Revlon - ColorStay Liquid Liner
rated 5 of 5

Love this eyeliner! Been using it for my cat eyes lately. I work 9 hour days in the heat outdoors and it doesn't fade, at all! No smudging, no creasing. The felt tip is great and I have tons of control over the line that I create. I have no trouble making the exact line I want. I had a problem before with liquid liners, particularly Maybelline Great Liner, where it's almost impossible to get the line you want, and when you do, it dries super shiny and then flakes off. Revlon dries matte and stays exactly as you applied it. Not hard to remove at all.

Polishes -Revlon - Matte Suede - Emerald City
rated 4 of 5

I've never used a matte nail polish before but this one really looks fantastic! It's a very deep green with lots of small emerald-green shimmers in it. I love the way the shimmer looks under the matte/suede finish. Definitely a chic and sophisticated color. Looks great with a shiny topcoat on as well. I only wish the brush was a little thinner.

Mascara -Clinique - High Impact Mascara
rated 5 of 5

I am a big fan of this mascara. Thickness without clumps or globs, length without looking spidery, it separates and fans out your lashes and gives them a little bit of curl too. It lasts all day with no smudging or flaking, and at the end of the day you don't even need makeup remover! This is its biggest plus for me. I don't like being rough on my eyes just to get makeup off, and this mascara comes off so easily in the shower with just some warm water. It comes off instantly and doesn't take my lashes with it. When I run out of my GWP tube I'm definitely buying a full one!

Blush -Silk Naturals - Wish You Were Here blush
rated 5 of 5
meheeeen 10/22/2010 2:12:00 AM

This is a very flattering coral shade. As with all Silk Naturals blushes, it's hard to go overboard as they are the perfect amount of sheerness. I can see this working on all skin tones, but I would really recommend it for warmer or olive skin tones. Stays true to color all day and the shimmer doesn't accentuate or call attention to my large pores.

Eye Shadow -Silk Naturals - Sonic
rated 5 of 5

This is a very beautiful white/gold/coppery highlight color that is a dupe of MAC's vanilla pigment. It can be quite subtle as a highlight or quite dramatic when foiled or put over a black base. It is a versatile color with really multi-dimensional shimmer. I would definitely call it a staple. Love it and will repurchase if I ever run out! At $4 this is a steal.

Misc Beauty Tools -Unlisted Brand - Salux Nylon Japanese Bath Towel

I LOVE these. Nothing leaves my skin softer and feeling cleaner. It really cleans those hard to reach spots and while a first-time user might find the cloth a little rough, once you get used to it nothing else cuts it. My favorite feature is how much lather it generates. It really stretches the life of your soap or body wash! I will continue using one of these until the day I die. I LOVE them!

Cleansers -Clinique - Liquid Facial Soap - Mild
rated 5 of 5
meheeeen 4/3/2010 1:48:00 AM

I don't know why I kept trying other cleansers. I had recently been using Burt's Bees because I was on a natural kick but I switched back to this literally 3 days ago (used it for years and years til maybe 1 month ago) and all but one of my pimples have shrunk away. Pros: Great packing, bottle is convenient and dispenses a good amount. Lathers well and rinses easily, and cleans foundation off very well. Leaves you feeling clean but not overly dried out. My face feels smoother and my acne has almost disappeared. Every time I use this regularly my breakouts are miniscule. I still break out but the pimples are TINY. It really calms my skin down. It also takes off everything you need it to. Won't remove eye makeup but after this there is no need for a toner. Cons: Can be a tad bit drying if I skip moisturizer. But really that's it. It seems a little pricey at $15 but for the amount, the quality, and how long it lasts it's nothing. I'm going to keep buying this until they discontinue it.

Eye Shadow -Clinique - Color Surge Duo in Strawberry Fudge
rated 5 of 5
meheeeen 4/2/2010 12:35:00 AM

Extremely pretty, blendable colors that work well together and great on my skintone. Amazing for a springtime look when paired with a berry lip. The pink shows more gold in light, it's like a gold with peach/pink undertones on the lid even though in the pan and on a brush or sponge applicator it looks very strawberry pink. The brown looks quite pink when blended in and looked at in the light. Together they make a great, soft but bright, springy look. I think it could work on cooler skintones but it looks amazing on my medium warm skin. I could imagine that darker skin tones could use the pink as a highlight on the cheekbone too. Love it and if I ever run out I will buy more!

Powder -Silk Naturals - Mineral Foundation
rated 5 of 5
meheeeen 3/17/2010 1:27:00 AM

I can't recommend this foundation enough. If you have ever not been able to find a color match, this is for you. If you like wearing makeup, this is for you. If you have a face, this is for you. I have pretty dry skin and I found that just moisturizing extra was enough to create a good surface for this makeup. It doesn't get oily if I moisturize enough (on days I don't, I get super oily because my skin wants to make up for being so dry) and it looks good all day. Heck, today it lasted through a nap! Nothing gross on the pillow either. It transfers reeally minimally. I use original and might mix in a little medium the next time I make a new batch because I want a teeny bit more coverage some days, but I usually find that original is enough to even out my skin tone and add this gorgeous but natural glow. I feel sooo good about my face when I put this stuff on! I use an ecotools long handled mineral foundation brush and kind of 'stipple' it onto my skin a little thickly then blend it all through my face, and just use a little extra around my nose and cheeks where I'm reddest. It takes all of 15 minutes to mix your color the first time, and if you write down your recipe it will take literally 1 minute to remix. I can't think of any skin type this would not work for - they offer excellent oil control products you can mix right in, and if you're dry like me just add some extra moisture and you won't appear flaky AT ALL. Everyday Minerals looked chalky and unnatural on me, and it was hard to find a match and a formula I liked, but with Silk Naturals, I make it how I want. I match my color, and add in any of their extra powders I would like, such as a 'glow' base or oil control powder, and you can choose how much coverage you want. Did I mention the customer service? The owner, who makes all of the products, posts REGULARLY on their forums and is a total sweetheart! It makes me want to buy everything on that site! Seriously, give them a try.

Mascara -Maybelline - Full 'N Soft Mascara
rated 5 of 5
meheeeen 3/5/2010 10:51:00 PM

I have this in black/brown and absolutely love it. It's the first mascara I've ever wanted to wear and has made me realize that mascara can look good everyday. I always wanted to steer clear of mascaras because I felt like it was too fake, because my natural lashes are really long and thick and I felt like they made me look too 'drama queen' or made up. However, this one lets me apply a thin enough layer to just get some added definition that really goes a long way. I love it! My only tiff is that for me it doesn't remove easily but I'm still trying out what mu removers work for me. It seems to take a lot of rubbing with a damp cotton ball to get it off when I use cold cream. (but maybe my store brand cold cream from over 3 years ago is the issue)

Liquid -Clinique - Superfit Foundation [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
meheeeen 3/3/2010 12:11:00 AM

I really like this foundation. In fact, it's the only liquid I will wear. For me it lasts a good 6-8 hours before I really need a touch up. Mind you, my days are 11 hours with full time college and part time work AND time in the art studio I go to, so I really need something that will go the extra mile. It lasted perfectly through prom for me as well but wasn't too great in a stuffy convention hall for 3 hours; it lasts fine through sweat for me (prom) but not through a lot of humidity it seems. But that could be solved with a primer easily. If I want that really flawless skin look, this with a brightening primer is amazing. The color is really natural too, for me, I wear "Neutral" which seems to blend well with my skin. I kind of look like a ghost sometimes because I've been setting with a lighter powder than I should (it's just the only one I have) but I know when I go back for a new one if I get a slightly darker and warmer powder that problem will be fixed. Overall if you have dry or combination skin (which is my experience) it is fantastic, blends great, and doesn't look like makeup. There isn't much of a scent and the color range is slightly limited but all really good, nothing unnatural that doesn't even look like human skin. (cough, over oranged others...) I would recommend it to anyone, but especially those looking for a relatively cheap ($21?) but still higher end makeup for prom that won't cause a breakout.

Masks -Queen Helene - Mint Julep Masque
rated 3 of 5
meheeeen 2/15/2010 5:13:00 PM

I generally like this because it makes my skin feel nice and smooth and does reduce pores but I have dry skin and I feel like it really does nothing for my acne, and really does make me flaky the next day if I don't moisturize really well. I've even tried it overnight on body acne that I have and while it stayed in place all night and shrunk the acne a little bit it wasn't significant, but will do until I find something better. Overall I love it as a pampering myself thing because I like the tingly minty feeling and smell but other than smoothing and reducing pores minimally I don't find it has many benefits. Maybe a different Queen Helene mask would be better for my dry skin.

Treatments -Biore - Pore Cleansing Strips - Nose
rated 5 of 5
meheeeen 2/13/2010 3:32:00 PM

I didn't even know I had so many blackheads! I didn't even put it on right and it still pulled tons of blackheads out that I didn't know existed. My nose looks so much better, free of what I thought were freckles. My boyfriend loves these and uses them a lot, he says that he'll use it once in a while a few times in a row. They pull out a LOT of blackheads and bring others to the surface. I saw him after using one, it pulled out tons of gunk and I could see the open clean pores. Will definitely be incorporating these into my routine! I couldn't even believe how well it worked!

Lip Gloss -L'Oreal - HIP Jelly Balm [DISCONTINUED]
rated 3 of 5
meheeeen 12/16/2009 1:30:00 AM

I picked up one on clearance at Rite Aid for $2 and honestly would not pay any more than that for these. I got the color 'Savory' which I have to say I really loved for my lips, I felt like it was a really flattering coral. I find the texture really nice but you have to put too much on to get enough color and then it doesn't feel too great, feels too thick and sticky. But, it is pretty long lasting and the color (not the shine) is kiss-proof, which is GREAT because I'm always looking for that lip product that offers just that hint of color that won't make my BF a glam girl. They're good but not great and not worth their full price but I'm satisfied with the one I got. If I ran out I might buy again but I wouldn't try any other colors, and I would only get it if it was reeeally marked down. (not even BOGO)

Gels/Soaps -LUSH - Honey I Washed the Kids soap
rated 5 of 5
meheeeen 12/7/2009 9:57:00 PM

There's a Lush store pretty near me, so every time I really feel like I need a treat (because I don't treat myself much) I go in and ask for a little sliver of this; I only buy about $5 worth. That much is gone in two weeks of minimal use but oh boy is it worth it! It softens the skin, cleans well, but that scent.. that scent is the best part. It's my favorite smell for any product I have ever tried, ever. I'm a sucker for food smells and I really don't like the majority of perfumes or synthetic things so this soap is right up my alley. I would tell anyone to buy this. For me, I won't buy a whole bar, but just because this is my treat to myself and want to keep it special. I think that says enough!
