Treatments -Beyond Belief - Vita C Antioxidant Serum
megieroo 2/16/2013 9:20:00 PM
I purchased this off a rec from the skin board. They hadn't realized it had been reformulated unfortunately. Whenever I tried to use this I got cystic acne. Overall this was a cosmetically elegant formula. It wore very smooth under makeup and there was some skin brightening in the areas that got the acne. There wasn't an overly strong smell. I think it was the silicones in this product. If you don't have an issues with silicones this would be worth a try as it is totally affordable and it would be a good opportunity to try a vitamin c serum.

Pressed Powders -Rimmel - Stay Matte Pressed Powder (ALL)
megieroo 9/18/2012 8:34:00 PM
This product seems to be the perfect product upon application. I got nice smooth looking skin and in translucent it was actually light enough for me! It kept me matte all day long and didn't cake up. It seemed like it would be the perfect product. The price made it seem like a steal of a deal! The only con I could think of was the packaging. It does not stay closed and I had to keep it closed with a rubber band. However. The next morning I woke up with little pimples on my nose and forehead. I tried this powder againa few times and figured out this was the culprit. It is worth a try! I gave it to my friend and she absolutely loves it. I would not repurchase due to my inability to wear it.

Cleansers -Dove - Beauty Bar - Sensitive Skin
megieroo 7/15/2012 7:28:00 PM
I've been using this soap for as long as I can remember. It's the only thing we've ever had for a bar soap in the house. My skin is and has always been (for the most part) silky smooth. I attribute that to this soap. I used this to wash my face along with my body for the lonest time. I haven't found it caused any breakouts. If anything it kept my face clean and blemish free. It removes most of the makeup I wear anyways. It didn't remove my Skin79 BB cream, or my waterproof mascara but it blasts away the olive oil I use to remove my makeup. It's pretty cheap, it gets things clean and it isn't overly drying for my sensitive combo skin. What more could you ask for?

Misc Beauty Tools -Olay - Professional Pro-X Advanced Cleansing System
megieroo 7/9/2012 5:44:00 PM
Okay let me start off by saying I researched this product a lot before I purchased. With no way of getting a Clarisonic I decided that this would be the next best thing for some of the clogs I had on my forehead. The first week I used this brush I used the harshest cleanser I owned and it dried out my face. So I took a break a tried again with my go to Dove bar soap. It cleaned my face beautifully, got all the makeup off and made my skin smooth. I always used the brush itself as directed. Only a few minutes, very gently spreading it out over my whole face. After a month it hadn't cleared up any of the clogs. But after this first month it had left me with broken capillaries around my nose and on my lower cheeks. Take this as a warning. If you have very translucent or fair skin with a tendancy of redness please err on the side of caution. This product gets a mediocre review from me because while I did use it as it was intended, and it did produce some nice results, I still ended up with almost irreversible consequences. It seems to work great for most people but it did not for me. As with everything, YMMV.

Lips -L'Oreal - Colour Riche Balm
megieroo 6/20/2012 4:02:00 PM
I recently purchased a balm in coral on a shoppers sale. It was on sale for $4.99. It glides on very well and is kind of moisturizing, not really at the same time. The coral colour adds a bit of pink red to my lips. It's a balm, I wasn't expecting a lot of color! The packaging is on par with other d/s lip products. I will say I like this better than my lip butter, I find it far less chunky and drying. Overall a good purchase for what it is, albeit a tad expensive (usually 7+ dollars) and not overly moisturizing. Good for when your on the go. I would purchase at a sale price again in different colors :)

Toners -Biore - Triple Action Astringent
megieroo 5/20/2012 11:28:00 PM
This is an amazing toner. I went looking for it the other day and it is no longer sold, biore reformulated and repackaged. I soak a tiny piece of a cotton ball in it and then apply to any pimples for 5-10 minutes. Then allow to dry and cover with moisturizer. This eliminates the pimple over night. I've had massive nasty puss-y pimples dissappear over night! It can be a bit drying or irritating probably due to the alcohol content. I only have about a tenth of the bottle left and will be devastated when it's gone. I realize that its primarily made of witch hazel, but witch hazel is hard to come by in my area. Go stock up if you love this product like I do!

Polishes -OPI - Monsooner or later
megieroo 5/10/2012 8:21:00 PM
This is my all time favorite summer colour. It's such a bright vibrant red-orange coral colour. Everytime I wear it I want to throw on sandals and go to the beach. Takes a few days to chip without a top coat and only takes about two coats for great coverage. What's not to love?

Polishes -OPI - I Have a Herring Problem
megieroo 5/10/2012 8:14:00 PM
I love this nail polish! It's a great shimmery blue-grey colour for spring, I'm not so sure about summer because I love wearing bright colours. This polish, as other reviewers have stated, goes opaque in about two coats. I usually don't add a top coat to shimmery polishes as it seems to make them trickier to remove. This polish has pretty good wear as far as that's cocerned. I can usually go a few days without a touch up. Great polish even if it is a tad pricey. Totally worth it for the quality and colour.

Moisturizers -Avalon Organics Botanicals - Vitamin C Rejuvenating Oil-Free Moisturizer
megieroo 4/19/2012 10:11:00 PM
I love this moisturizer! I got this to jump start my anti-aging. I just wish it moisturized a little more. The cream keeps blemishes away and doesn't clog my pores. It makes my skin glow in the morning. For the price you get a decent quantity, even if it is in a jar. I currently have dry (product over use) and very sensitive skin. This cream does make my cheeks a little pink when I first put it on. But when I wake up my skin is radiant. I won't give this cream HG status because I need something that delivers more moisture.... but its darn close. I only use this at night due to the red hue it gives to my cheeks. But I have used this during the day at times. It soaks in and leaves a smooth finish. Great for under make-up. I tend to use more of this cream at night that at day, so this cream should last more than six months. For 15$ thats not bad. I did try the richer version of this cream. It clogged my pores :( Else I would probably have my HG. Edit: I took a lippie off. This cream made my face highly irritated and it never calmed down. Whatever benefits I was receiving definetly were not worth the irritation. I'm currently using this as a mask of sorts just to try and finish off the product. (Leaving a large amount of it on for 10-30 mins only.) I have also changed it to not repurchasing due to the fact it caused irritation. Sensitive skin beware,

Cleansers -Avalon Organics Botanicals - Vitamin C Facial Cleanser
megieroo 4/19/2012 9:56:00 PM
I loved this this cleanser at first. But it wasn't the best choicce for my sensitive skin. This cleanser made my skin dry and it really irritated my cheeks. Otherwise this cleanser was amazing. It cleaned beautifully, made my skin radiant and glowing. It was just too over drying. I really wish it wasnt.

Moisturizers -Derma E - Tea Tree & E Moisturizing
megieroo 4/17/2012 8:05:00 PM
I purchased this cream after reading so many rave reviews on MUA. It was about 12$ and its a huge tub! I don't really mind the tub. I really wanted to love this product. The first night I applied it worked wonderfully. It decreased the size of some of my clogged pores and left my face smooth. The second night I tried it made my forehead a mess of clogged pores. Not overally impressed with this product as a face cream. However, seeing as its a huge tub and I barely used any at all I tried it out on my legs and a cut I had gotten. It immediatetly scabbed over the cut and it helped out with clogged pores on my legs! I've also placed this on zits. Only on big red zits mind you, nowhere else on my face. I marked a no for repurchase because I will probably have this a very long time. Overall not a bad purchase. If you have clog prone skin I wouldn't reccomend for use all over your face.

Shampoo -Aussie - Moist Shampoo
megieroo 4/5/2012 11:38:00 AM
This used to be my go to shampoo back in the day. I recently picked up an older bottle I had stuffed up in the cupboard (Probably to try something new at the time) The first wash was fantastic. My hair smelled amazing and it was soft and smooth. After using it for a few days I noticed that my hair would be almost dripping by the end of the day. Far too heavy. This shampoo also made my forehead break out, and clogged some pores. Wish I had've realized that the original time I used it, would've saved on a bunch of acne 'solutions'. Overall good for people with /extremely/ dry hair (My hair obviously isnt that dry), cheap and smells delicious and the smell stays around. Worth a try if nothing else!

Sunscreen -Aveeno - Active Naturals Smart Essentials Daily Nourishing Moisturizer SPF 30
megieroo 3/26/2012 6:50:00 PM
Tried to add some antioxidants into my skin care routine. Spent 20$ CAD on this cream, slathered it on since I've heard nothing but good about Aveeno. By mid afternoon my face was full of red, shiny, angry itchy bumps. Took a week to clear up the madness this cream left behind. The general idea was good, the packaging was good but the execution was awful. Would not recommend for sensitive skin that doesn't agree with Aveeno products. (I also broke out with the complexion clearing foaming cleanser - go figure)

Lip Treatments -SoftLips - Pure Pomegranate Organic Lip Conditioner
megieroo 3/22/2012 7:46:00 PM
I do not have this particular flavor of the organic line but I have the acai berry and peppermint. They are fantastic. I apply before bed and before I leave in the morning and my lips stay smooth. No more chapped lips :)

Pressed Powders -Physicians Formula - Mineral Wear Mineral Face Powder
megieroo 3/22/2012 7:36:00 PM
Okay I edited this review because my other review just did not give this product justice. I just want to state that I have very sensitive pale (assuming NW 5-10) combo skin. It's very clog prone and picky. For the positives this powder has never broken me out, it provides decent coverage. I have some clogs on my forehead and it almost blurs them out. This powder probably lasts ~5 hours without touch up and touching up on slightly oily skin is great, it seems like it blends a bit better. The only few bad things about this product are that the compact is a bit bulky, the powder is a bit powdery (dusty, my dresser gets a bit on it - also means the powder can get cakey if you pile it on) and that I can't wear it in the winter because it's a bit orange. I have to brush at the paler part of the powder and hope for the best, if not I look awful. Now that it's summer I am so happy that can wear this again. I just wish PF would put out a paper white shade or something. So if you have 'normal' colour skin... that doesn't look like snow, give this powder a try!
