Moisturizers -Clinique - Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel
mccfrausto 5/13/2013 8:09:00 PM
This moisturising gel is too dry for the winter but it seems good when the right weather comes along. I'm strictly avoiding dimethicone in cosmetics because I'd like to give my pores a break from that mess. I'm surprised to find dimethicone in Clinique's moisturzing gel but I guess I'll tolerate it well and be able to make an exception.. Just as long as I'm not over loading on dimethicone products and continue to cleanse & exfoliate.

Primer/ Corrector -Victoria's Secret - Face Prime
mccfrausto 5/3/2013 11:54:00 PM
I think I might like this primer spray, it did not irritate my skin and did create a matte finish.. the only thing is, it might even be too dry for my combination oily skin. but i bet it works well for what it's supposed to do. i might need a heavier moisturizer with this product.

Pressed Powders -Almay - Smart Shade Smart Balance Pressed Powder
mccfrausto 5/1/2013 7:57:00 PM
I think I don't like the dimethicone in this product. Makes my combo oily skin look like crud Perhaps I used too much though, and it might look better if I applied a primer underneath.

Liquid -Clinique - Superbalanced Foundation
mccfrausto 3/5/2013 1:18:00 AM
I think it had an almost powdery flexi-finish. Not shiny, somewhat matte and soft finish. But the texture did my skin no justice. My fine lines from dry winter skin were not noticeable but it made a couple of dents and bumps seem more pronounced. I think it even looked pore clogging. I have combination oily dry skin at the moment, with some kp. I wasn't satisfied with this foundation

Cleansers -Neutrogena - Liquid Neutrogena Facial Cleansing Formula
mccfrausto 2/10/2013 2:38:00 PM
This stuff is great, and possibly underrated since I rarely see advertisements for it. I have oily skin which has been dry since the winter. I was using Clinique 3 step system for combination oily skin but it became too drying for this weather. So I tried this cleanser last night and so far so good!

Moisturizers -First Aid Beauty - Ultra Repair Cream
mccfrausto 2/9/2013 7:20:00 PM
I have oily skin that's dry in the winter now. Although, I am still "oily." This confused me at first as to what kind of lotion I am going to use in this weather since the Clinique moisture gel is too dry and their moisture surge gel breaks me out. I saw someone write that they use this product for their oily skin so I tried it on my face and so far it's satisfactory. Not watery at all, matte finish. I might stick with this for the winter.

Foundations -Perfekt - Skin Perfection Gel
mccfrausto 2/4/2013 7:07:00 PM
I recommend trying it over your Spf to help mask the greasy shine that sun protection leaves behind. I returned the Luminous shade because it had dimethicone.. I believe the clear one is without dimethicone

Cleansers -Clinique - Wash-Away Gel Cleanser
mccfrausto 1/2/2013 1:12:00 AM
I use the clinique three step system for combination oily skin and it's great. Now I tried this wash away gel cleanser as recommended, it's a pre-step to the three step system. However I don't see the point in it. My face just feels more dry and I'm afraid that will turn my skin red. I'm going to return this and if I ever try it again it will be during the summer because it's too dry for winter. My skin feels parched after all that. As I mentioned, I used this with the three step system for combination oily skins. Edit: I just sprayed my face with water and added the moisture surge gel. Now my skin feels as smooth as silk?! So I guess it's better to use a stronger moisturizer than just the regular moisture gel. However I'm still returning this cleanser and the moisture surge gel because I suspect the moisture surge gel breaks me out.

Powder -The Body Shop - Extra Virgin Minerals Loose Powder Foundation
mccfrausto 9/23/2012 12:42:00 AM
You guys? I think I'm in love.. This is the best foundation for me right now. It looks natural, I feel glowing.. And it's made without that itchy Bismuth ingredient that some mineral makeups have.. I am so happy. The packaging is also good. There is a screen inside the pot which the powder shakes out from, so that's a bit different from usual and I do like it..One tip, the powder may get on your clothing but it rubs off easily. What's wonderful is you can apply this with a kabuki brush or a powder puff and either way will look just as good. The finish is natural, not chalky like other mineral makeups were. I am somewhat fair medium and I bought three shades in the level two range.. The girl at the store helped me choose level two. 202 Natural Vanilla is a good natural white shade, I don't see any yellow or pinks or orange in this. 208 golden vanilla seems like a warm color, a nice warmth but it was slightly dark for my tone so I mixed some 202 over it and now it's a nice shade of sun kissed. Did not get to try 205 rose vanilla but will do that tomorrow. I have sensitive combination acne rosacea prone skin and I will continue to buy this.

Bronzers -Tarte - Park Avenue Princess

I just dont like this because it is a cold gold.. Made no difference in my skin tone, just gave it a brassy metallic sheen of an olive tone maybe?

Mascara -Maybelline - one by one, waterproof
mccfrausto 7/11/2012 5:42:00 PM
I bought a couple of waterproof mascaras to see which holds up best in NY's summer heat and humidity.. This mascara gave some curl, volume, and length but nothing spectacular.. Also looks a bit dull and uncharming. At least it gives a somewhat natural look but I might have tried better. I've worn it for a couple of hours, I think it mightve melted and smudged a bit. The temperature today was a high of 82, hot and partly cloudy but not too hot.

Shampoo -Shea Moisture - Deep Cleansing Shampoo
mccfrausto 1/2/2012 4:28:00 AM
I love this. Great product and performance with nice fragrance yet it is technically FRAGRANCE FREE, its only fragrance would come from the natural ingredients. I feel like this cleansed well, left hair soft with no residue. I tend towards sensitive skin and scalp issues so I was very excited to find this product.. I also used a conditioner by this brand and picked up a few other items as well, I might post for review

Skincare - Face -La Roche Posay - Thermal Spring Water
mccfrausto 11/24/2011 1:46:00 AM
I love this.. Have repurchased a couple of times. Prefer this to Evian spray for some reason, it might be the Selenium and Zinc which is so calming. My skin type was somewhat dry or oily, sensitive, redness.. This thermal spray is sort of like a god send. I use it after I wash and before applying moisturizer.. Wish it were less pricey, just because it's awesome..

Sunscreen -Peter Thomas Roth - Instant Mineral SPF 45 (Sephora exclusive)

I love this, I only wish it were cheaper and that I would be able to tell when i am about to run out.. Also, I wish that the packaging allowed for refills.. I love the formula, never shiny, so natural and leaves a great finish.. I have sensitive, acne rosacea prone skin and I am very satisfied..
