Lips -Cover Girl - Natureluxe Gloss Balm
mblrx02 8/13/2011 7:24:00 PM
I bought this product in color Sandstone, which is a nude/pink/peachy color. I wanted something that would give me a hint of color, with moisturizing benefits. When I looked at this it in the store, I don't remember seeing any hints of glitter in it. But after one use... I see it is FILLED with glitter specks. And I mean BIG glitter specks. My lips look ridiculous, like a 10 year old with her first glitter lip gloss. I am so disappointed for the money I wasted. The positives: It does smell good, and the color itself would be great (minus all the glitter), and it feels pretty good on my lips (but does seem to just sit on top rather than moisturizing deep down). Overall, I don't recommend, and I won't be buying again.

Shampoo -Redken - Blonde Glam Shampoo
mblrx02 3/12/2011 6:54:00 PM
For the price, I don't see what the big deal is about this shampoo (or conditioner). I decided to try it because I recognized the scent as one that a former stylist used on me, and every time I'd go home from a haircut, my husband would comment that my hair looked blonder. That was years ago, but I remembered the distinct citrus scent when I was trying to pick new products. My hair is naturally a strawberry blonde, that has gotten a bit dull in the winter months. Using this shampoo and conditioner really made no noticeable difference to the brightness of my hair. As a shampoo, it is okay, but nothing special. It lathers well with only a little shampoo. And it cleans pretty well, but I still need to use a clarifying shampoo at least once a week to keep my roots from feeling yucky. I am disappointed that the citrus scent doesn't linger much. In fact, I kinda think my hair smells dirty a few hours after using this.

Shampoo -Nexxus - sleektress
mblrx02 3/12/2011 6:32:00 PM
This is probably the best shampoo I've used on my wavy, somewhat frizzy hair. The only reason I don't like it is because of the scent. Even though on initial sniff, the coconut smell doesn't seem incredibly strong, after using it consistently, it seems like that is all I can smell, and I HATE coconut scented beauty products. But thats my personal problem. As for a shampoo, it lathers and cleans really well. And its the only shampoo I've used and had a noticeable new shine to my hair. The shampoo alone is quite moisturizing - I often don't use a conditioner with it. I tend to require clarifying about once a week so my roots don't feel too yucky. It still doesn't completely eliminate waves or frizz (I guess no shampoo alone will), but it does make a noticeable difference. Like I said, I'd buy again if I liked the scent. If you like coconut scent, you should love all of Nexxus' stuff.

Cleansers -Purpose - Gentle Cleansing Wash
mblrx02 10/30/2010 12:45:00 AM
This face wash is GREAT! It so simple and cheap, it makes me think I should be using something else with big claims and a bigger price tag. But I always return to this. It doesn't break me out, doesn't dry me out excessively (gives me that tight clean feeling, but doesn't leave me with dry patches like other washes have), and it has a pleasantly clean scent. My only wish is that Purpose made more products so I could use a complete line from them. I love this stuff.

Moisturizers -Olay - Total Effects 7-in-1 Fragrance-free SPF 15
mblrx02 10/30/2010 12:38:00 AM
I always use a moisturizer with SPF, so decided to give this a try along with Total Effects eye cream and night cream. This cream goes on very nicely and absorbs quickly. However, I found that I got very oily on my forehead and nose by the afternoon (more than I usually do with other moisturizers with even higher SPF). Also, I noticed that by the afternoon, I started itching around my jaw area. I never broke out, but the itching was annoying and enough to make me quit using it. (I don't know what is in it that my skin doesn't like... I've never had a reaction to other products before.) The pump is nice. I'd probably finish the bottle if I didn't have the itching, but I wouldn't buy again b/c of the oiliness. I'm now using Olay Complete Sensitive with SPF 15, which I am much happier with (and its much cheaper!).

Cleansers -Beauticontrol - Skinlogics Cleansing Gel
mblrx02 7/28/2008 10:17:00 PM
For about a year or 2 before trying Beauticontrol, I was on the search for the best skin care line I could find. I tried Neutrogena, philosophy, Clinique, and Good Skin products. Some of them were pretty good, but I was always bored with it before I could finish a bottle. Not knowing much about Beauticontrol, but being inspired by the positive reveiws on MUA (although few in numbers), I decided to buy a trial set on eBay (about $10). I tried the gold line first since I'm 30, but felt like it wasn't quite right for me since I still have occasional breakouts, so I then tried the skinlogics for 20's line. I really love this cleanser (and all the products) b/c it is a gel, it cleans well (takes prettymuch all of my makeup off), is generally not too drying for me (although it can be drying - but this isn't a problem when I follow up with the skinlogics moisturizer), and it has a light fresh scent (which I actually prefer things to have a nice clean scent rather than be medicinal or too herby smelling). This line really has improved my skin! I don't even feel like I must wear foundation anymore since my skin is so much more smooth, acne-free, and fresh looking than before. This will be the first time in a long time I've bought a second bottle of the same product.

Cleansers -Clinique - Liquid Facial Soap - Mild
mblrx02 1/16/2008 8:31:00 PM
This soap has been a good cleanser for my combination skin for about the past 6 months. When I've tried other cleansers that have dried out my skin or caused a breakout, my skin recovered quickly when I restarted using this cleanser again. It keeps my skin fairly clear (an occasional pimple during that time of the month) and removes all of my makeup very well.. Its not incredibly amazing - I think it keeps my skin healthy, but not perfect. (I'm always on the look-out for something better.) Still, it ranks pretty high on my list of cleansers. I think the price is appropriate. (I'm surprised how people don't like spending money for their skin. If you think about it, spending $14.50 for a cleanser that will last at least 6 months - thats only 8 cents a day!!) I'm pretty sure I'll be buying this again.

Cleansers -Good Skin - Perfect Balance Gel Cleanser
mblrx02 1/16/2008 8:11:00 PM
I bought this in December as part of the trial size set, which also included the Perfect Balance moisturizer, Microcrystal skin refinisher, and Instant Lightening eye cream. This cleanser completely dried out my skin. I used all of the products at first, but after about a week, I really noticed some dry patches on my cheeks (which I've never experienced before - I have combination skin that is more on the oily side). I wondered if the skin refinisher was possibly too much for my skin, so left that out of the regimen, but still found that the cleanser alone dried me out, and the moisturizer wasn't enough to help my skin recover. Unexpectedly, when I went back to my old cleanser (Clinique Mild Liquid Soap), my skin was prettymuch back to normal after just one use. I haven't used the Good Skin products since. I'm hanging on to them to possibly try again in the summer when my skin may not be as prone to drying. If my opinion changes, I'll write again.
