Liquid -Make Up For Ever - Mat Velvet PLUS Matifying Foundation
rated 2 of 5
mayebear87 4/14/2013 8:36:00 PM

This product did not live up to its name. It only kept me matte for about 3 hrs, which is no different than any other foundation I use. The wear was no longer than other foundations. I guess there is just nothing about this foundation that makes it stand out from others, and it's expensive. The packaging would be alright if it didn't pretty much explode foundation the first time I opened it. The first time I opened it, the foundation just came pouring out (I wasn't squeezing it, and I was holding it upright), wasting SO much of it. I will be returning this.

Skincare - Face -Estee Lauder - Advanced Night Repair Concentrate
rated 5 of 5
mayebear87 2/24/2013 6:04:00 PM

THIS SAVED MY SKIN!!! I will never be without this product or Estee Lauder's regular Advanced night repair. This concentrate formula is meant to be used every 3 or 4 months for about 21 days at a time, then you're suppose to use the regular Advanced night repair every night in between. My skin was suffering from this cold winter he in MN, and this made my skin so healthy, so comfortable, so radiant, ahhh....love this!

Eye Shadow -Clinique - Chubby Stick Shadow Tint for eyes
rated 5 of 5
mayebear87 2/9/2013 8:34:00 PM

Ok, so these just released very recently, and I already own 8 out of the 12 colors, yes, I am obsessed with these! They are creamy and easy to blend. You can layer these sticks to give a bolder color, or just one layer for a sheer wash. They really do last a long time without creasing. But what I love the most is the finish of these. You would think they would be very shimmery, but they're not. They are the most perfect suede like finish. Not completely matte, but nice, soft, velvety finish that just looks so luxurious! Get them!

Conditioner -A/G - daily light
rated 5 of 5
mayebear87 1/15/2013 9:41:00 PM

I love this conditioner! It really is light weight enough to use on an everyday basis. I use this after my Control shampoo and it saves my hair. My hair looks shinier, healthier, softer, and stronger. It also smells really good! This liter though is very expensive, about $40, so definitely get it on a liter sale from Ulta like I did. Just because it was on sale, I already did buy a backup.

Hair -A/G - Control Shampoo
rated 4 of 5
mayebear87 1/14/2013 5:56:00 PM

I have had dandruff all of my life, and I have been able to keep it under control with various shampoos from the drugstore. But I recently got my hair colored and asked the stylist what she would recommend for color treated hair, and dandruff. She recommended this. This shampoo does have sulfates (which I'm not too concerned about), but it must be a lower amount because it doesn't really lather, which is new to me. So I feel like I do have to use a lot more just to get the product down to my scalp where the issues are. I have really thick, course hair. It does seem to be working nicely, it smells really good, and it rinses super squeaky clean. Maybe a little too clean, because my hair snarls, and tangles a lot more. I do have to use a really good conditioner. I already did buy a backup from Ulta, because they have their liter sale on right now. I wouldn't buy this if it wasn't on sale. It's normally $40.

Mascara -Clinique - High Impact Extreme Volume
rated 5 of 5
mayebear87 7/27/2012 8:17:00 PM

This mascara isn't out yet to the public, but I have 2 tubes of this already. This should be releasing soon, in August of this year. This mascara is suppose to be even more volumizing than the regular high impact, and I truly do believe they achieved that. I have my tubes in the color Extreme Black, and it is a really dark, pigmented black. I love that this mascara is easily buildable if you want extra drama, and I love that this doesn't smudge or flake. It also keeps your lashes soft and flexible. The mascara wand is a rubber type brush, similar to the Benefit's They're Real mascara, where it has little spikes at the tip of the mascara wand. I like this mascara and will repurchase again.

Liquid -Urban Decay - Naked Skin
rated 5 of 5
mayebear87 7/27/2012 8:05:00 PM

I love this foundation! I called all of my local stores that would carry this to see if they had it in yet, but none of them did :(. At least at Ulta, they said they had them in, just not out yet, and they would dig them out so I could get matched. How nice! I read on Urban Decay's website that the .0 numbers are more yellow, and the .5 number are neutral/cool undertones. They also had a nifty little thing that would show you what your shade is compared to one that you already own. The only problem with that is, is that I don't think it's very accurate. According to that, I should've been a shade 3.5, but when I got to Ulta, that looked too dark. The guy did swatches on me, and I bought a 1.0. Which is weird, since I do have cool undertones...but it works...so I don't know, lol. You definitely can't rely on that little tool they have on their website. Wait until it's in a store near you to get matched. But now to the foundation, it's purely wonderful. It's super lightweight and liquidy, so it's super easy to blend. It has a nice medium, but incredibly buildable finish. It is more on the matte side, but not too flat matte, still great for my oily skin. It definitely lasts all day. I just can't believe how this sets! It's literally flawless, and you can't even see it on! Not even MUFE HD did that for me. Also, it makes my skin feel so soft when I'm wearing it, I don't understand how they did this. Urban Decay is my favorite brand, and they always will be!

Crème -Revlon - ColorStay Whipped Creme Makeup
rated 4 of 5
mayebear87 6/30/2012 11:36:00 PM

This foundation is probably the best foundation in the drugstores. I always wear high end foundations (yes, I am a high end makeup snob, sue me), but was intrigued by this one. I bought it in the lightest shade, and it matches me very well. I like the feeling of this foundation, but trying to put it on is a little more difficult than my high end brand ones. It also looks cakey, and I didn't use much at all. You can really tell the difference from high end to low end foundations. High end ones are worth paying the price. I do like how this wore throughout the day though. It really was long wearing, and it did keep me pretty matte throughout the day, which is much needed since I am pretty oily and it's super humid here. I don't like the jar, it's way too bulky and unhygenic. Also, you don't get a full ounce with this one. So it's pretty spendy for a drugstore item. I like it, and will buy it again. But I will only be using this when I know I need a long wearing foundation, and for the hot/humid summer days.

Treatments -Clinique - Pore Refining Solutions Correcting Serum
rated 5 of 5
mayebear87 6/14/2012 1:18:00 PM

First, about me, I have noticibly larger pores around my nose, on my nose, and a little bit on my forehead right between my brows. I have an oily T-zone, but especially oily in the areas where I have larger pores. I started using both the Pore Refining Solutions correctin serum, and the Instant porfector at the same time. Now, this should be common knowledge, you can't make your pore size physically smaller...no matter what anybody from any comsmetic line tries to sell you, it just can't happen without changing your DNA. I went in knowing this common knowledge, and even the smart SA at Clinique told me that you can't change the size of your pore, but you can make appear smaller by keeping them clean, and then strengthening the structure of the pore wall...and that's exactly what the correcting serum does. It cleans out the pores and keeps them clean, while strengthening the pore structure...makeing them APPEAR smaller. So A+ there, pair the serum with the instant porfecter, and you have magic.

Skincare - Face -Clinique - 3 Step System
rated 5 of 5
mayebear87 6/7/2012 8:37:00 PM

I love this 3-step! I think people on here that give this a low rating are not using this right, and the people that are using this for acne are out of their minds. This isn't meant for acne, they having a whole acne solutions line for that. For this people that think that the clarifying lotion is too strong...you only need ONE sweep over the face. If you do more than that, then yes, you will get dry and irritated because the clarifying lotion is a liquid exfoliant. Also for those of you that are breaking out, it's because of one of two reasons. The first, because you are using this wrong skin type...skin types 1 and 2 have a little bit of oil in them for DRY skin types. The second reason because whenever you change a skin care routine, you're going to get breakouts because your skin needs to get used to it. Give it at least a month. I love this 3-step system, it works really well, and people compliment my skin ALL the time. Use this correctly, with the correct skin type, and you will love this.

Eye Primer -E.L.F. - Eyelid Primer
rated 5 of 5
mayebear87 5/17/2012 9:45:00 PM

I used to use UDPP, and I liked it...but then I found this $1 beauty, and I will never buy a high end eyeshadow primer again! This works just as well as the UDPP...so why not spend WAY less? Enough said.

Treatments -Clinique - Even Better Clinical Dark Spot Corrector
rated 5 of 5
mayebear87 5/17/2012 6:19:00 PM

Alright...I am thoroughly convinced that most of the people giving negative reviews for this product are not using it correctly. First off, this dark spot corrector will only work on dark spots that have developed over time. It will not work on freckles that you were born with, or any other dark spots that are hereditary. With that being said, you have to use this product twice a day for about 3 months to see full results. When I say use it twice a day, I mean, wash your face thoroughly (preferably with Cliniques face wash), use the Clinique Clarifying lotion, follow that with Cliniques Dramatically different moisturizer, THEN apply your Even Better Clinical Dark Spot Corrector. Doing that twice a day with proper skin care WILL give you the results you want. You can't get results if you're not taking care of your skin first with a basic skin routine (Cliniques 3-step skin care). As far as the one lady that commented on how stupid that Clinique SA was, that was rude. She was either probably new, or not even a Clinique SA, but simply a floater (someone that works at all the cosmetic/fragrance counters, so he or she isn't trained about the products like Clinique SA's are). A Clinique SA wears a lab coat, thats how you can tell if you're talking to an expert. I really hope that people will read this and give the product a chance, because it really is great! It is Cliniques number #1 selling product for a reason.

Liquid -Clinique - Stay-Matte Oil-Free Makeup
rated 5 of 5
mayebear87 5/9/2012 5:32:00 PM

This is my new HG foundation! I really love this stuff. I used to wear Lancomes teint miracle or photogenic (depending on the day), and I like them, but was still not really satisfied. When Cliniques Stay Matte foundation came out, I tried it immediately because I am combination/oily skin, and I sweat in the summer, and summer is just around the corner. I instantly fell in love the first time I tried this on. It looks no different than when I'm wearing my lancome foundations, and this performs better! It lasts all day, covers my pores, and is super buildable. It says its a sheer tomoderate coverage...I make this full coverage on me, and it doesn't look cakey at all! Yes, oily skinned people will still see oil break through, but at least the foundation itself isn't being broken down by the oil. You can still blot and not see any transfer of the foundation. I don't really think it makes a difference if you set with a powder or not because the foundation lasts without powder, and it's a nice natural matte finish, so you just don't need it. People love the look of my skin, and ive me compliments all the time! I hope the don't discontinue this product ever!

Eye Shadow -Maybelline - Color Tattoo 24hr Cream Gel Shadow in Tough as Taupe
rated 1 of 5
mayebear87 4/12/2012 5:13:00 PM

I don't like these creme eyeshadows at all! They creased on me terribly! I wish I had better results like everybody else on here, but I just didn't. I used it with a primer (Urban Decay) and without, and this creased both ways. The color was more gray, not so much a taupe, so I was disappointed in that as well.

Liquid -Lancome - Photogenic Lumessence Light Mastering & Line-Smoothing Makeup
rated 5 of 5
mayebear87 4/12/2012 3:09:00 PM

This is my second Lancome foundation that I've tried. The first one was the Teint Miracle, which I love as well. I decided to try this one, because my Teint Miracle was a little too dark, more of a summer shade, and I just wanted to try something new. I can't tell which formula I love more...they're both amazing! This foundation says it's for dry to normal skin. I have combination oily skin, and this works well! I do have to blot once during the day, but that's nothing. It gives a nice flawless finish, and does look well in pictures!
