Lipstick -Clinique - Long Last - Berry Freeze
mathaholic 9/23/2006 6:16:00 PM
I am very pleased that I have found this lip color. I use Vincent Longo Dakota Red for work, but this one can be used as either work or casual days. It is not a bright red. I think it has a little hint of brown in it that makes it extremely wearable. I have yellow/pink undertone Asian, and this can be work with black or brown outfits depending on which liner to use. I use red liner when I am wearing black and neutral liner (like MAC Spice liner) when I am wearing brown. I am glad that I found this.

Sunscreen -Neutrogena - sensitive skin sunblock spf 30
mathaholic 9/21/2006 10:35:00 PM
I liked this product because the active ingredient is Titanium Dioxide and gives instant protection. I use this product whenever I don't have time to wait for 20 min for the sunscreen to set in (avobenzone product). However, I don't like the fact that it leaves a white cast on my skin, and it is extremely non-water resistant, so I have to apply it on my hands each time I go to the bathroom. I am an avid sunscreen user, and though I liked how convinient this product is, I will not buy it again.

Lips -Vincent Longo - Lipstick in Dakota Red
mathaholic 9/21/2006 10:29:00 PM
Very rich dark red. It went really well with my fair Asian skin. I wear it with black suits, since I think it make you look intelligent. It is very moisturizing, but I didn't care for the staying power. Since the color is blue-ish red, it will definitly look great if you have a cool skin tone. I love how it is not the classic red color, but a very modern wearable red. I would have bought this again if there were staying power.

Lip Liners -MAC - Lipliner- Mahogany
mathaholic 9/18/2006 8:29:00 PM
This was my very first Lip liner from Mac. I first got it about 5 years ago, and I still love this color. It is reddish brown color, and combined with Viva Glam 5 lipstick, you are ready to go out for the night. I like how I can match red lipstick or neutral brown color with this liner. Mac Lip liner sharpens beautifully, and since it is long, it will last you a long time. I like how it glides on my lips too.

Loose Powders -Ben Nye - Neutral Set translucent powder
mathaholic 9/18/2006 8:20:00 PM
This is probably the best bang for the buck powder. I am impressed with this powder that I only paid $7 for. It lasts you for a very long period of time, and it really does a great job setting your make up. I don't like the packaging, so I put the powder in the sifter. The powder itself is white colored, but it goes on clear and translucent. I love how it mattifies my skin for the price that I am paying. I don't need to do any touch ups until lunch time, and I have very oily t-zone. Highly Recommended.

Lip Liners -MAC - Lipliner in Spice
mathaholic 9/17/2006 10:28:00 PM
Great Neutral Color Lipliner. It is hard to find such a universal color that compliments all skin tones but this is it. I use it with Viva Glam V lip gloss, and it looks very natural, but just better. It goes with any lipstick color (I also use it with Maybelline Forever lipcolor Heather, which is red-brown color, and Vincent Longo Dakota Red). I am very impressed and will buy it again.

Moisturizers -Alpha Hydrox - Enhanced Lotion - 10% AHA
mathaholic 9/15/2006 10:37:00 PM
This product eliminated the bumps on my arms. I can't believe how smooth my arms are now. I don't like the smell much and the packaging is cheap looking, but who could complain because the price is so affordable. I am so glad that I made the discovery of this lotion through MUA. For about $11, I finally have a smooth skin on my arm, and I LOVE IT. Definitly will repurchase this product. Oh, one more thing, don't forget to put on sunscreen whenever you are doing AHA treatment, or it could damage your skin.

Misc Beauty Tools -Alcone - Makeup Sponges
mathaholic 9/15/2006 10:31:00 PM
LOVE this product! I use the sponge every day to put on my foundation. It does not flake, and it is extremely high quality. No wonder a lot of make-up artists use this product. The foundation goes on evenly on my skin, and I know that this sponge contributes to the result. People, do not use the drug store triangle sponges, because this one is so much better. It comes with 8 sponges, and costs around $3 or so. I wet my sponge to put on my foundation, and it really does a great job. Alcone also makes a good puff to set the make-up. Highly Recommended.

Sunscreen -Neutrogena - Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunblock SPF45
mathaholic 9/15/2006 10:26:00 PM
I really like this product. I am on my fourth bottle. I use it only for my body, since it stung my eyes when I tried to use it on my face. It really is dry touch, and I like the face that it has a good UVA protection (contains Avobenzone). I am a big advocate of sunscreen (I slather it on every single day even during the winter), and I am pleased that I think even a person who doesn't like to put on sunscreen can put this one on, since it really is dry touch. My husband even uses this, and he does not like to put anything on his face and body, so that says it all.

Pressed Powders -MAC - Blot Powder - Dark
mathaholic 9/15/2006 10:19:00 PM
This powder does blot my oily/combination skin. Even though the color says "dark", it is a beige color, so it is very wearable color for a fair skinned Asian person like me. The problem was that I didn't find it that it blots my skin for a long period of time. It works find when I first put it on, but I still have to blot my face after two hours of wearing it. I think it does the same function as Ben Nye translucent loose powder, but Ben Nye one costs only $7, and this MAC blot powder cost me $16 or so. I will finish using it, but I don't think I will repurchase.

Crème -Cinema Secrets - Cinema Secrets
mathaholic 9/15/2006 10:09:00 PM
This is a great bang for the buck foundation. The price was right ($12), and it lasted me for over 3 months. I liked the coverage that it provided, and it didn't dry my skin out. I love the color selection. I got 301-63A, and it perfectly matched my Asian skin. I wish it had some sun protection, but for the price that I paid, I can't really complain. It didn't WOW me because the staying power of the foundation on T-zone wasn't that great and I constantly needed to blot my face, but I liked the full coverage that it provided and loved the price. I am still looking for the perfect foundation though.

Sunscreen -DHC - White Sunscreen SPF 25
mathaholic 9/15/2006 5:26:00 PM
This is the sunscreen that made me change the way I think about sunscreen. This one is not heavy or goopy, and though it does leave a little bit of white cast, it goes away soon enough that you can wear this product alone without make-up. I love the milky texture of the product, and I use it everyday under make-up. I love how it has both Titanium dioxide and Zinc Oxide for UVA and UVB protection. Though it is a little bit on the pricy side (1 ounce for $23), and I get it in bulk only when it is on sale, I will probably continue to buy it until something cheaper that meets my standards comes along. Great product!

Cleansers -DHC - Deep Cleansing Oil
mathaholic 9/15/2006 5:15:00 PM
I absolutely love this product! I have been using this cleanser since August of 2004, and I am on my 15th ( I lost count) bottle or so. It removes my make-up and sunscreen completely including the waterproof mascara. I have used Shu Uemura cleasing oil also, but I don't like it as much, since I didn't feel like my pores were being cleaned out. I follow up with DHC mild soap, and my skin feels clean. This deep cleansing oil is especially great before you apply the biore nose strip. I don't know why but I get a lot of gunks out of my nose when I clean my nose with the oil and use nose strip right afterwards. I have used other make up removers along the way, but I always come back to this one. The only down side is that it is expensive. But well worth the price, and I know that I will continue to use it for a long time. Highly Recommended.
