Fragrances -Guerlain - Aqua Allegoria Herba Fresca
mastifluv1 10/24/2006 1:04:00 AM
When I was a child, we hiked through a rain soaked mossy forrest, where we stopped to eat red wintergreen berries and chew on the minty leaves. The aroma of mint was faintly in the air, amidst the back drop of green leaves, warm woods and spring flowers. There is also a hint of lemon in this fragrance, but it fades. Nothing else is like this wonderful fragrance; it's not too minty. It's very soothing, clean and uplifting. I have been searching for this one for a long time, and finally found it. If I could give it 6 lippies, I would. I couldn't love this more! It's heavenly! By the way, the Guerlain fragrances throw me for a loop (love/hate). However, they are of the most complex. I adore Herba Fresca!

I think it's a nice warm floral that would be good for fall weather. There's no sharp edges, nor offensive notes. It's like a sweet bouquet of fresh flowers. It's mellow, yet leaves a nice feminine trail. The bottle is darling too!

Fragrances -Guerlain - Mitsouko

Oh no, I'm so disappointed with this. I'm getting the waft of an old lady walking through a musty library, and I'm no spring chick. This is really REALLY awful. It's sugary, chalky, and dirty all-in-one. You know how memories of scents are. I suppose I had a grade school teacher who wore this, and back in the day when they snapped a ruler against a desk to gain students attention.

Fragrances -Guerlain - Shalimar
mastifluv1 10/14/2006 5:31:00 AM
Shalimar seems to a fragrance most love and some hate. I have tried this a few times and wanted to enjoy it. After several years, I just gave it another chance. The top notes began to play to me and I took pleasure in those. All was fine until the base took over. To me, it was extremely nauseating and I scrubbed to remove it. At last, I know why I don't care for it. It's reminiscent of the incense I stored in an antique dresser drawer as a teenager. Just like incense, once removed from the drawer, the essence lingers on and on. It's not at all burnt smelling, it's very powdery. It cloys moreso than CK Obsession. There's nothing cheap about this fragrance. It's just that incense and iris are not my cup of tea whatsoever.

Fragrances -Guerlain - Champs Elysees
mastifluv1 10/14/2006 4:42:00 AM
Ahhhh, mmmm, I cannot stop smelling my arm. It's too bad I tried Shalimar EDP on my other arm, as it's overpowering the Elysees. How foolish of me. I scrubbed and couldn't get the Shalimar completely off. Back to the lovely Elysees... it reminds me of white linens floating through a breeze of fresh softly sweet flowers. It's ultra clean and classy; romantic, not sexy. I think this would be a wonderful fragrance for a bride. You know you love a fragrance, when you stop what you're doing to write a review:)

Fragrances -Fresh - Pink Jasmine

I love this fragrance! It's very wearable, soft and clean. It doesn't have that hideous sharp edge that so many generic florals have. The characteristics are complex yet well balanced. There is an orange citrus punch in the beginning and my being a lemon lover, I enjoy that. However, the orange fades quickly, and a luscious spring garden develops. The drydown is just like slipping your nose into a fresh cut flower. It is so fresh! Lasting power is very good, but the price is steep.

Fragrances -Fresh - Sugar Blossom Eau de Parfum
mastifluv1 8/27/2006 4:00:00 AM
I have all 3 of the Lemony scents from Fresh. I wanted to give my opinion on the differences, I find, between them. I love 2 of them: #1. Fresh Lemon Sugar: Love, love, love! Tart lemons with herbal green leaves. It's clean, soothing and feels so fresh! #2. Fresh Sugar: True juicy lemon smell, but slightly sweetened. That's it, lemon and granulated sugar. Homemade lemonade! Love it! #3. Fresh Sugar Blossom: No floral blossom here, it's dried up, spoiled lemon. This turns towards bug spray or perspiration. The first 2 are wonderful mixed with other appropriate scents. I adore them!

Fragrances -Guerlain - Insolence
mastifluv1 8/26/2006 5:13:00 AM
Got a mini bottle from Sephora and I wore Insolence all day. A mature blast of violet, berries and rose rang through the air! It's super rich and cloying; a dab will do ya! Several hours later, I detected tonka, musk, and sandalwood. To me, it wasn't a feel good scent at all; I have an excruciating headache. This sure does have lasting power, which is great only if you enjoy this syrupy scent. I'm very disappointed. I think this is one women will tire of very quickly.

Fragrances -Salvatore Ferragamo - Incanto Charms

Just another ordinary fruity floral with a sickening top notes. Smells like many others that make me feel nauseous, and it's expensive. It is similar to D&G Light Blue, as someone else mentioned; I don't care for that either. The bottle is darling.

Fragrances -Elizabeth Arden - Green Tea

Refreshing! Lightly sweetened and lemony. Mixes well with other lemon scents. I was surprised, I enjoyed this so much and didn't get tired of it. Nothing offensive or sickening at all. However, it doesn't smell like green tea to me. Great daytime scent.

Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - Laurence Dumont Tarte aux Myrtilles
mastifluv1 8/22/2006 1:15:00 AM
I ordered from Sephora, not knowing anything other than their description of blueberry, butter, vanilla and Carmel. Initially, I smell red wine and berries. It dries down to Berries & Creme Life Savers. It's unordinary, charming, casual, and energizing. It works and it's reasonably priced. It's a fun scent to have in your everyday collection.

Fragrances -Hanae Mori - hanae mori eau de toilette
mastifluv1 8/6/2006 2:13:00 AM
It's a sweet soft feminine fruity scent. It's not me. While there's no peach or cotton candy notes, that's what I smell. I do like Pink Sugar, because of the licorice. It was expensive and I was disappointed. I should have returned it, but oh well, I'll swap it.

Fragrances -Clinique - Aromatics Elixir
mastifluv1 3/19/2006 4:23:00 AM
What's worse than the overpowering & nauseating trail of a passerby wearing Aromatics Elixir, is being locked inside a car with it. I was so carsick as a child; it was my mother's signature scent in the 70's. I understand the love/hate responses, as there isn't anything else like it. There are other scents I find offensive, but this one ranks right up there according to my nose...and stomach. A fragrance should make you feel terrific, not make you feel ill and in a foul mood. This strong scent will affect all the people you will encounter too...so if your considering it, wear a sample for a day or two, before you get a bottle. Then you can decide whether it's exotic or toxic.
