Makeup Brushes -Pout - Airbrush Brush
mascara_babe 5/21/2008 9:18:00 AM
I use this to apply my blushes and bronzers and it gives a soft and kinda airbrushed effect and is great for blending so there are no noticeable edges to the blush/bronzer. If you want the colour to appear darker on your face you'll have to layer because the colour appears very soft and light when using the airbursh. The brush is very good for layering though and the colour will gradually look darker but won't appear cakey or 'powdery' :) Overall the brush is great and gives a similar effect to the Mac 187 brush but Mac's brush has one advantage in that it's softer (if you care about that.) xXx

Mascara -L'Oreal - Voluminous mascara

My chanel extreme cils intense drama lash mascara in 11 Noir jais is better than this mascara although this mascara is still good and cheaper. I used to love this one (it was better than previous mascaras I'd tried) but after discovering my chanel one I don't love L'oreal voluminous anymore, just 'really like' lol.

Mascara -Chanel - Extreme Cils intense drama lash mascara (this is NOT waterproof)

Ooo I LOVE this mascara!! It's the best one I've tried so far! I have it in the colour 11 Noir Jais (black). This mascara blackens, lengthens, curls and gives me slight volume too :) The brush gets to ALL my lashes even the lil ones that aren't that noticeable before I apply the mascara. I can easily get my lower lashes to be defined and lengthened in a few seconds. I spend a few seconds applying this mascara and my eyes look bigger and defined even when I don't have any other make-up on. It just makes me look more wide awake. This is even better than my L'oreal voluminous mascara which is still very good but not as great as this chanel one.

Powders -Giorgio Armani - Midnight Shimmer Powder
mascara_babe 5/13/2008 11:56:00 AM
This is a great highlighter for special occassions and looks very pretty on the body, cheeks and above the cheekbones and sometimes I apply it under my eyebrows aswell. I don't use the sponge that comes in the container to apply it... I use a brush instead so I have more control over where I place the highlighter and applying it with the brush makes the shimmers more close together otherwise they would be spread too far apart and the 'highlighting' effect would be less.. The container is large and you get plenty of highlighter so I'm guessing it would take a very long time to use it all up :)

Pressed Powders -Estee Lauder - Light Snow Shimmer Face Powder
mascara_babe 5/13/2008 11:27:00 AM
Ooo this is such a beautiful subtle highlighter!! It's very soft and gives shimmer and glow not 'glitter'. Very high quality product! The compact is so elegant too and there is a gorgeous snow design on the highlighter. This and Guerlain's divinora extravagold all over powder are my favourite highlighters to date. Only downsides to this product are 1) the powder breaks apart easily and 2) the small amount you get when the retail was so expensive. I got it for less on ebay but even on there it wasn't that cheap.

Highlighters -Guerlain - DIVINORA extravagold poudre visage et corps all-over powder
mascara_babe 5/13/2008 11:05:00 AM
This highlighter is in pressed form and was a limited edition from Guerlain's christmas extravagold collection. I found an article and it sounds like the product they're talking about below is the one I'm reviewing but I'm not certain (even if it's not, it sounds similar anyways): 'The Extravagold collection comprises Golden Face and Body Powder ([pounds sterling]19.50), which contains a high concentration of mother of pearl with a flesh-coloured base, so that the powder blends naturally with the skin tone' I don't live in the US but I know the powder was priced at $68 over there. I'm not certain what the price was in the Uk and I bought this off ebay at a bargain. Anyways, onto my review of the product... There is no 'glitter' in this highlighter! There is only fine shimmer so the effects are subtle which is the most flattering in my opinion. I mean, I don't really want lots of glitter all over my face!:P The shimmer is gold coloured and looks beautiful and elegant on cheekbones! I also apply abit to my nose, browbone and chin and finally I sweep some from the sides of my nose then across my face, under my eyes and above my cheeks, to the outer edge of my face going upwards with the brush, I'm not sure if it's just my imagination or not but I swear I got some very subtle colour pay off from this too! My face appears a healthier colour with a glow. This powder was designed to also be used on the body and it looks gorgeous swept on arms, chest, shoulders and down the front of the legs!! The shimmer looks 'dewy' especially as you move around. I think this is my favourite highlighter at the moment however I wouldn't have bought it at the retail price just because personally nomatter how gorgeous the product is I could never justify spending so much on a compact of shimmer. I'd rather spend that money on a top or something lol.

Concealers -Guerlain - Issima Precious Light Smoothing Illuminator Beige Naturel 20
mascara_babe 9/29/2007 3:39:00 PM
Too sheer and watery for blemishes! It's ok under the eyes but i don't think this shade is the best for my skintone. It's abit too peachy and i think i need something more neutral/yellow toned? Although it doesn't cover much it does give a kind of dewy glow around the eyes but it's not the best concealer for me personally. I use concealer mainly for when i get blemishes so i end up hardly using this...

LOVE this with max factor masterpiece max mascara layered on top! Gives the great false lash effect! On it's own this mascara is very good too! It's defines my eyelashes, lifts them upwards and makes them look long!! Great price too!<3

Blush -Guerlain - Divinora Bubble Blush - Rose Chamallow 60
mascara_babe 9/17/2007 11:14:00 AM
Great texture and feels lovely and light on the skin. It's easy to blend and colour will show after the first layer BUT i don't really think the colour is the best for me... I think i'd suit other shades better. It looks a bright fresh pink and i can imagine on other skintones would look pretty and flattering but unfortunately it doesn't do much for me. It doesn't really brighten my face or features... Not the worst blush i've tried but i won't re-purchase. FYI: I'm 16, have very dark brown hair, dark brown eyes, combination medium toned skin with an olivey? undertone (i'm a mix of vietnamese and arabian if you can imagine what my skin colour looks like from that??lol) and i can tan easily in summer but my skin looks naturally alot lighter in winter but not exactly fair/pale! If it's hot i can get oily in summer but my skin is combi/normal in cold seasons and it's usually cooler as I live in the Uk lol.

I like to use this as a sort of bronzer and highlighter on the top of my cheekbones and on my nose and it looks pretty and defines my features! It's shimmery though so i can only use it when my skin is in good condition and has no blemishes!! Also may be too shimmery outside so use a light hand!! I've only tried this out in autumn so i'd like to try it in summer when i'm more tanned and see how it looks then and also if it's too much in the summer sun. Will update!<3 Probably won't re-purchase as i think this will last long and i always love to try out new products! FYI: I'm 16, have very dark brown hair, dark brown eyes, combination medium toned skin with an olivey? undertone (i'm a mix of vietnamese and arab if you can imagine what my skin colour looks like from that??lol) and i can tan easily in summer but my skin looks naturally alot lighter in winter but not exactly fair/pale! Liquid -L'Oreal - True Match Super-Blendable Makeup SPF 17
mascara_babe 9/15/2007 4:31:00 PM
It's an alright foundation. Nothing special. Good large choice of shades and doesn't dry out skin. Doesn't have great staying power though and will make your skin shiny and oilyy in hot weather! Doesn't brighten skin or make your skin look 'flawless' like top quality foundations can. Has light-medium coverage but can fade later on in the day. Can layer abit more after the first layer but will look cakey if you try and apply any more than that. It's a good in-between foundation if you run out of your other best foundations or if you want a simple cheap foundation to use now and then on days you're not going anywhere special but i think there are other foundations around that are a similar price which actually give a better effect than this one. (Try the maybelline age rewind cream foundation? Or, if you don't need major cover up, the Bourjois happy light if you can still find it? Ebay?) This one isn't really bad like the maybelline dream matte mousse or Rimmel cool matte mousse but not that great either and I just find it a boring foundation so won't repurchase. *+*EDIT*+* I think this causes my skin to breakout!:P FYI: I'm 16, have very dark brown hair, dark brown eyes, combination medium toned skin with an olivey? undertone (i'm a mix of vietnamese and arabian if you can imagine what my skin colour looks like from that??lol) and i can tan easily in summer but my skin looks naturally alot lighter in winter but not exactly fair/pale! Foundations -Rimmel - Rimmel Cool Matte 16hr Foundation
mascara_babe 9/15/2007 4:20:00 PM
Abit worse than the maybelline dream matte mousse and that was baad! On application it gives a nice cool feel to the skin but that's the only positive thing i can think of. This foundation is not good at covering anything and gets cakey if you try and layer it more than once. Weird texture. It seperates during the day and makes skin look dull and weird looking! Not dry (although it accentuates any dry areas!) or very oily...i can't really explain it actually... it just makes you look ill!:P Even if i have blemishes i actually look much better without this! It's named a foundation yet does nothing a foundation should do! Doesn't cover, doesn't give any nice effects to your skin, doesn't brighten or make it look smoother! Also is not blendable at all!! Cheap but as with the maybelline dream matte mousse, you get what you pay for with this! Poor quality! There are much better low cost foundations out there! This was a complete waste of money and i won't re-purchase! Foundations -Maybelline - Dream Matte Mousse
mascara_babe 9/15/2007 4:06:00 PM
It's an ok foundation...if you have near flawless skin. If you get any blemishes or skin that's abit dry in certain areas in cold seasons then it'll accentuate them (it accentuated small flakes that i never knew were there before i applied this!!) When you first apply, coverage is good but it'll seperate after a veryy short while and would be rubbish at covering anything unless you like the thick cakey look when you layer! It fades quickly and doesn't brighten the skin, infact it can make skin look dull. It mattifies it at first but is drying in winter and in other seasons could make your skin oily if you try and apply more than a layer of this. I would not even think of trying to use this in a hot summer! I can imagine it fading & melting away in no time and looking a complete cakey mess!! It'll look baad if you try to layer it!! Even when i get blemishes, my skin looks smoother and better without wearing this! Also the shade choices aren't that good either!! It's cheap yes but with this you get what you pay for! Only positives is it feels light, the mousse texture feels nice when you touch it and it's not as bad as the rimmel cool matte mousse foundation (though it's only JUST better) but other than that it's a pretty poor quality product and i won't be re-purchasing!
