Foundations -Wet 'n' Wild - Coverall Cream Foundation
marydlsu 4/28/2013 2:59:00 PM
I was very excited to try this product. Previously, I was using the Wet n Wild tinted moisturizer and liked the results, really liked the medium coverage I got with Coverall. I used Coverall for about 2 months, between 3 and 5 days a week. It was great for the first month or so. I have combination skin - oily forehead and chin, dry everywhere else. After a month of use I started noticing the skin around my eyes drying out. My skin was really getting irritated and red, most prominently under my eyes and beneath my nose. It was horrible, really, to start seeing this dry, flaky, red skin. I tried covering it up by using more product until it finally dawned on me to quit using this foundation. Seriously, I was using hydracortisone cream - it was that bad. I've since switched using Coverall and started using Clinique's Redness elmininating foundation. My skin is healing. No more redness, and almost completely flake free. I was very surprised and disappointed because I have never had a reaction to any kind of facial product before.

Eye Shadow -Cover Girl - Eye Enhancers - Pure Romance

This is another Cover Girl eyeshadow collection that's extremely easy to apply, very user friendly, and I find flattering on my fair complexion. The colors are very blendable and hard to mess up. I was surprised at how good this trio looks on my eyes, and I use it once a week.

Eye Shadow -Clinique - Shadow Quad in "Polar Blue"
marydlsu 1/30/2013 10:36:00 AM
I've had this eye shadow quad for years and have gotten a lot of wear out of it. The midtone grey shimmer color is the true workhorse for my complexion; it looks fantastic on my fair skin and really brings out my eyes. The classic bone is my second favorite shade and a decent highlighter for the upper lid. Unfortunately, I"m taking away a star for the blues, because I too look like I've been punched in the eye when I wear them. Sad but true. If anyone knows if the grey is sold separately I'd love to buy it again. I've got a few more applications left in that color, and I find it mixes well with others in my makeup collection.

Eye Shadow -Cover Girl - Eye Enhancers Trio - Cafe au Lait #105
marydlsu 1/30/2013 9:59:00 AM
This is another good everyday eyeshadow trio from Cover Girl. I find their trios very easy to apply, good for both beginners and people who don't want to spend a lot of time blending, applying, and matching their eyeshadows. Because of the ease of use, it was my daily look for a long time until it was gone. The cons are well stated by other MUA users - the brushes are crap and usually disintigrate, and this palate isn't extremely pigmented, so use a primer. But this means it is pretty hard to mess up because it is pretty classic and understated. It's a good eye trio to use when you want to emphasize a strong lip or when you don't want to look overly made-up.

Eye Shadow -Cover Girl - Eye Enhancers Trio - Shimmering Sands
marydlsu 1/30/2013 9:35:00 AM
This is the first product I have given 5 stars to. I LOVE THIS EYESHADOW KIT! It looks really good on me, blends well, and has good staying power. I work 12 hour shifts and so I'm basically doing my makeup while I'm still half asleep, yet I cannot seem to mess this palate up. It looks good with very little effort, and the shimmer works wonders to make my eyes look awake and bright. Great buy. I sincerely hope this trio is around forever.

Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - Color Icon Trio - Walking on Eggshells
marydlsu 1/30/2013 9:21:00 AM
So, so sad you all - I was so excited to try this Color Icon Trio. Just looking at the colors, it seemed like it would work perfectly on my eyes, but alas it did not. The browbone and eyelid colors DO look good, so I'm planning to keep the kit and search for another color to blend them with. It's the middle crease color, a basic medium/dark brown, that is so disconcerting once on my lid. Another user suggested the coppery/bronze color would bring out green eyes, but instead it makes me look like a 16 year old who snuck into her mom's eyeshadows stash and is trying to look grown up. There's seriously something "off" when I put it on; I think the shade is has too many gold undertones, and that just doesn't work with my pale, cool toned skin. Urgh, so frustrating. Perhaps it's just me. This is the second Color Icon Trio I've tried that's fallen short of my expectations, but at least this one has two redeeming shades I'll work with.

Lipstick -L'Oreal - Colour Riche in Fairest Nude
marydlsu 1/19/2013 9:55:00 AM
The smell of this lipstick is truly repulsive. It smells like a vat of wax. I tried it for a week or so and hoped I'd get used to it, but I can't get past it. The consistency is not great, either. Just like it smells like wax, it feels like wax as you apply it. It settles into the creases of my lips, doesn't blend out. The color is just OK. All in all, meh.

Lipstick -Wet 'n' Wild - Lipstick- #547b, Breeze
marydlsu 1/19/2013 9:44:00 AM
After years of $$ for more expensive lipcolors only to stop loving the color days after buying them, I was ready to try anything. After getting this on a whim at the drugstore a few months ago, I am still wearing it. The color itself is a great every day color. On me it is a pinky/nude color and goes with most of my wear-to-work eyeshadows. The frost in it could be too much from time to time, but I find the amount of frost can be toned down if you don't put on as much. A little goes a long way. Another aspect I'm in love with is that there is no offending smell. I find the Silk Finish lipsticks to be moisturizing, relatively long-lasting, and definitely priced right to experiment.

Lip Gloss -Wet 'n' Wild - Megaslicks in Strawberry Ice
marydlsu 1/19/2013 8:48:00 AM
I love this lipgloss! It coats my lips well and has incredible staying power. I work 12 hour shifts and only reapply one or two times. It doesn't dry my lips out like other long-lasting formulas. Strawberry Ice provides is the perfect amount of color to compliment my pale complexion. And of course, the price is right! The only negative I can think of is that there doesn't seem like much in the bottle or on the wand itself. When you apply it, however, it does go on evenly. Try this!

Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - Color Icon Trio - I Got Good Jeans
marydlsu 12/19/2012 4:33:00 PM
I wanted to try something new on my lids and got this trio due to the reccomendations of other reviewers who have a similar complexion on the MUA boards. The shadows were easy to apply, smooth to brush on, and had good staying power. But this isn't the "look" for me; I thought I looked like Mimi from the Drew Carey show. I wish there were pictures of actual people wearing this product. I gave this trio away to a friend.

Mascara -Wet 'n' Wild - Mega Length Mascara
marydlsu 12/19/2012 4:29:00 PM
Great mascara. I purchased it on a whim at the drugstore and wasn't expecting anything fantastic, just a temporary replacement for my usual Maybelline Great Lash. Lo and behold this was a great buy for half the price. Doesn't dry my lashes out, doesn't flake, stays put, good color, good brush. Sold!

Polishes -Wet 'n' Wild - Wet Cement
marydlsu 12/19/2012 4:24:00 PM
I had high hopes for this nail polish but unfortunately it fell short of my expectations. The color itself is interesting but the quality is not there. I put on two coats but the color did not even out with the second application; it's very thin and cheap looking. On the plus side it dries very quickly. Me personally - I would rather shell out a few more bucks for a more quality polish.

Tinted Moisturizer -Wet 'n' Wild - Ultimate Sheer Tinted Moisturizer in Nude
marydlsu 7/6/2012 10:26:00 PM
I've been using Aveda Tinted Moisturizer for years now and wanted to try something new. Because of MUA, I decided to give this one a try. I'm fair skinned, have green eyes & blonde hair. I'm used to applying powder after my tinted moisturizer but in an effort to cut back on my makeup application time want to stop doing that. I find this product is "dry" enough on its own. In fact, to help blend the color and moisturize, I mix a pea sized amount 50/50 with Neutrogena Oil Free Moisturizer, then use my fingers to apply. Because my forehead tends to be oily/acne prone, I used the product straight from the bottle for this area. All in all I like it. I work in healthcare and don't have time on the job for reapplications or touch-ups. Because it takes me FOREVER to finish a bottle of anything, I may be ready to experiment with another kind after this one is finished.
