Shampoo -TiGi - Self Absorbed Shampoo

I'm a big fan of Herbal Essences (Hello Hydration, to be exact). I've been using this shampoo for years and my hair is very healthy. Even though my hair is healthy and I know it's healthy, I still get bored with my usual shampoo and like to try new products. Boy was this buy a complete flop. I've heard many a good thing about Bed Head products and the high price kind of told me that they had to be good. You get what you pay for, right? Well not in this case. I bought this shampoo (Self Absorbed) and have been using it for about 3 days now. The first day, there was no major difference in the quality of my hair...same with the second day. However, today is the third day I'm using this shampoo and my hair has never felt drier or frizzier. My hair is so frizzy that it feels as though I am long overdue for a haircut. It's that bad. Also, my hair feels dirty and grungy..like I haven't even washed it. I'm actually looking forward to showering tonight and using my regular shampoo because my head just feels filthy and itchy. I really, really wish I hadn't spent $16 on a bottle of this junk. If I hadn't have thrown out the receipt, I'd definitely return it. To each her own, but I would not recommend using this shampoo from my own personal experience with it.

Shampoo -Clairol - Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Moisturizing Shampoo
rated 5 of 5

Let me just tell you guys how much I love this shampoo. This is my go-to shampoo and has been for about 6 years now. I shampoo daily. In fact, I shampoo twice a day because I take two showers a day. I know that this is probably overkill, but I need a good shampoo to handle this many showers. This is a great shampoo & I always find myself questioning it. I am HUGE on trying new shampoo products. I have basically tried every single shampoo out there. I've tried everything from the cheap cheap to the salon quality expensive. I always find myself coming back to this shampoo. Hello Hydration leaves my hair moisturized enough to where it isn't dry, but it doesn't moisturize it too much to where it feels dirty and weighed down. In fact, I always get a "light" feeling after I wash with this shampoo from switching from another one. Like it's making my hair bouncier or something. Just a nice, clean feeling. I love this shampoo no matter how many bad reviews it gets. This shampoo just clicks..like it was made for my hair type. I'll probably still wanna try all of the newest and coolest shampoos that come out, but I'll more than likely always find myself coming back to this one because of its price factor and quality. LOVE IT.

Shampoo -Clairol - Herbal Essences Body Envy Shampoo
rated 1 of 5
marshmallowmoondrops 6/22/2012 12:36:00 PM

I love Herbal Essences Hello Hydration but wanted to give this a try. I like to try new products quite a lot and normally find myself wasting money because of it. This shampoo was no exception. This is one of the worst shampoos I have ever used. The first time I used it, I kind of liked it. The smell is not that good and kind of smells fake and nauseating. After the second or third use, I started to notice that my hair was literally being stripped of any oil and moisture that it had. While shampooing, my hair was incredibly tangled and just felt dry...with water and suds all throughout. After the shower, my hair would look very dry and gross with no life to it at all. This is probably a good clarifying shampoo to use once every two weeks, but not for a daily shampoo-er like myself. It is just too drying. It is such a shame because I bought the huge pump bottle at my local Walmart and basically wasted money because the bottle is now sitting under my bathroom sink. I will not use this again unless my hair ever feels gunky enough to be stripped of dirt (and oil...and moisture...and anything else...maybe even strip some hair out too). Don't recommend because I simply did not like it.

Shampoo -Aussie - Moist Shampoo

OMG...no, just no. This shampoo is one of the worst that I have ever used (and I have basically used every type of shampoo out there). I have thick, fine hair that tend to be dry most of the time. I was looking for a good shampoo that moisturizes well and leaves my hair feeling light & clean. This was definitely NOT IT. I picked this shampoo up at my local Walmart and could not wait to use it because of the fab reviews. The pump bottle is great & works well. I absolutely LOVE THE SMELL. But the way it makes my scalp and hair feel is disgusting, to say the least. After using this shampoo, my scalp was itchy and full of dandruff. It was so bad that I actually felt like I needed a shower to wash my hair after about an hour of stepping out of the shower. My hair was dry, itchy, felt incredibly dirty and was dull. My hair actually LOOKED dirty and gross in the mirror. This shampoo also weighed my hair down a lot. I'm sure that all of the girls reviewing and saying they love this shampoo are not lying. This probably works for some people, but it was just not for me. Maybe it moisturizes too well? I don't know. This shampoo was so bad that I actually had to stop using it and couldn't even finish the huge bottle I bought. What a waste of money! The smell is great...so it's really disappointing. I wanted to like this shampoo. Oh well!

Shampoo -Suave - Professionals Almond & Shea Butter
rated 2 of 5
marshmallowmoondrops 2/18/2012 6:14:00 PM

Let me get things straight with this shampoo/conditioner by Suave Professionals. This is a good shampoo...in the beginning when you first use it. I literally fell in love with this shampoo when I first started using it. It made my dry, thick hair really moisturized and soft. Really, incredibly soft. I have been using this shampoo for over 8 months now and my hair is falling out. I used to have very thick hair, and my hair is now noticeably thinner. It is really horrible and noticeable. Even my hairdresser noticed how thin my hair got and asked me what shampoo/conditioner I was using. I told her I was using Suave Professionals almond and shea butter and she said "Yeah, that shampoo has ingredients that will damage hair over time". I did some research online and found other women/men complaining of the same thing...even some MUA reviews are saying the same thing: thinner hair. I switched shampoos about two weeks ago and there is already a big difference in my hair. It is fuller and less thin. This is coming from someone who naturally has coarse, thick hair...this shampoo actually made it balding thin. If you want a nice experience with a cheap hair product, I recommend this. But please do not use this longterm. I loved, loved, loved this product when I first began using it, but it turned my hair into thin strands after 8 months of daily use. Many of the positive MUA reviews are from users who haven't used this Suave Professionals shampoo for more than a month..so please take my review into consideration before choosing this product!!! My hair was literally falling out in chunks whenever I showered.

Gels/Soaps -Unlisted Brand - Body Essence - Raspberry Shea Butter Body Wash
rated 4 of 5
marshmallowmoondrops 2/10/2012 1:36:00 PM

Let me just say that this is my all-time favorite body wash. I have very, very, very dry skin that is tight, flaky, and ashy-looking. I also get rough dry patches on a variety of body parts; mainly on my shoulders. I have tried a variety of different soaps and "beauty bars", like Dove, Olay, Ivory, St. Ives, etc, etc. None of these soaps gets rid of the dry patches I have on my shoulders. I saw this body wash in the Walmart near my house and was tempted by its cute packaging and great price. It was really, really cheap. I got it home, not expecting more than a nicely scented wash and I was very happy with the product! It is very moisturizing and completely got rid of those dry patches on my shoulder! I also am in love with the scent. It is so sweet and fruity...feels so yummy in the shower or bath. For the price, you really can't beat it. The reason I'm docking one star is because of the bottle. While I love the bottle design because of its convenience, it tends to get clogged and broken. The first time I bought this body wash, the pump actually didn't work at all and I had to switch it out with another pump I had on hand. This next bottle I bought (and which I'm now using) pumps okay, but it is a very slow pump and it takes about 30 seconds for me to pump out the desired amount...it's so slow! Overall, a great body wash that is very moisturizing. That's a lot coming from me, since I have very dry skin.

Mascara -Neutrogena - Healthy Volume
rated 1 of 5
marshmallowmoondrops 1/3/2012 11:03:00 AM

I am really very shocked at how many positive reviews this mascara received. I got this Neutrogena Healthy Volume mascara in the mail as a special free promotion online. Because it was free, I thought I would have an edge to liking this product, but I was wrong. Wow...what a horrible, awful mascara. I've used many mascaras in my time and this is definitely one of the worst. I applied the mascara (Black 02) on clean upper lashes and was extremely disappointed with the effect. It looked like I wasn't even wearing mascara. The brush was extremely big and clunky; hard to get a good, clean application. The other thing I noticed is that the mascara was very heavy..despite the fact that it didn't cover well. My lashes were very heavy after application. I'm a contact lens wearer, and also found the formula to be irritating after a few hours. After I put the mascara on, I asked my mom and my husband how my eyes looked. My mom said, "Oh..are you wearing makeup?" I told her I had put that free mascara on that I got in the mail and she said "Oh, wow...you don't even see it. I don't like that at all." I will definitely be sticking to my MaryKay LashLove that I have. I am so glad I got this product for free and did not waste money on it. When I wear mascara, I kinda want to look like I have nice, long, black lashes...and not that I just wasted my time putting some gunk on that does nothing. As I said, I am still extraordinarily surprised that this mascara got so many positive reviews. Glad I didn't read the reviews and actually buy this crap.

Mascara -Maybelline - Great Lash Mascara
rated 1 of 5
marshmallowmoondrops 11/4/2011 8:56:00 PM

Since this is supposedly "America's #1 Mascara", I thought that it would actually be worth a try...after all, Maybelline claims that a tube is sold every few seconds. Unfortunately, this hype is really just that...a hype. This mascara is extraordinarily poor quality. I put it on and it didn't even look like I was wearing mascara. My eyelashes were not thickened or lengthened at all...just a little more black than they were before. Even though it's cheap, you girls (and sometimes guys!) are definitely better off spending your hard-earned money on something that is actually good. In this case, you get what you pay for....

Lips -Sally Hansen - Sally Hansen Thin Lip Collagen Boost
rated 2 of 5
marshmallowmoondrops 11/4/2011 8:50:00 PM

This lip treatment is just rubbish. I purchased it about a year ago in a drugstore b/c I wanted to see if it would help make my lips look fuller and smoother. Unfortunately, this stuff is just not good at all. The consistency is very thin and watery, like another reviewer has said. It is so thin that I doubt it even penetrates into the lips. The color is also pink...but an artificial pastel pink that takes awhile to soak into the lips and actually disappear. I used it for about two weeks and didn't notice a difference, so I stopped using it. It was not worth the money at all.

Lip Treatments -Maybelline - Baby Lips lip balm
rated 4 of 5
marshmallowmoondrops 10/29/2011 9:17:00 AM

I have to say; I really like this lip balm. I actually got this online from Target for free because they were doing some type of promotion (I only had to pay 49cents for shipping). So, obviously I just had to give it a try! I just received it in the mail yesterday and it is great. The packaging is really cute. I got the "Quenched" one, which is completely clear and has a blue tube w/ big chunky pink writing on it. I put it on my lips and was surprised that it was actually shiny! Most lip balms are rather matte and do nothing for leaving a makeup-like look behind. This one is different. I could definitely see myself wearing this balm instead of my super-shiny glosses. Maybe the fact that I got the gloss for free is making me like it even more, but it was definitely a great find and I will definitely buy it when I run out. It is extremely moisturizing and not too thick.

Lip Treatments -eos - Lip Balm Sphere - Summer Fruit
rated 1 of 5
marshmallowmoondrops 10/28/2011 1:37:00 PM

Why oh why did this have to be in such cute packaging? That's the thing that attracted me to it, and it's probably the only thing I like about this lip sphere. First off, I'm a huge lip balm and gloss fan. I will basically try anything and everything under the sun. I bought the Summer Fruit EOS sphere from Walmart and just had to give it a try. What a joke! It was not moisturizing at all. In fact, I had to press on my lips very hard with the product just to get it to transfer from the little "ball" to my lips. The flavor was disgusting. I was expecting something..summery...like cherry or a delicious strawberry. Instead, it smells and tastes like wax with an unnatural and unknown fruit flavor added to it. The lasting power was also a joke. It lasted on my lips for maybe 5-10 minutes, if even that. There was no shine at all and my lips did not look moisturized because of using it. Instead, my lips felt waxy, thick, and uncomfortable. All-in-all, it was a huge disappointment. I contacted EOS to explain my situation and that I did not like the Summer Fruit flavored sphere and they didn't even bother to get back to me. I'm sure that this balm is great for girls who don't like to wear makeup but like to use balms that look like nothing is even on their lips except for a gross layer of wax, but it isn't for me. I'll go back to my shine-packed glosses, thank you very much!

Hair -Garnier - Fructis Shampoo & Conditioner
rated 1 of 5
marshmallowmoondrops 6/20/2011 8:45:00 PM

I absolutely hate this product. I bought the Garnier Fructis Shampoo because it was on sale with a coupon. After using it the first time, my hair was so oily and weighed down. And this is coming from someone who has naturally DRY hair (I have very dry, damaged hair)! My hair was actually disgustingly oily. I used it for a week to see if the effect would get any better, but it never did. The little "bead" top is also a pain to open with wet hands in the shower. My husband used this shampoo when I had it and he said the same thing: leaves your hair sickeningly greasy, with no real hair health benefits.

Conditioner -Yes To Carrots - Yes To Cucumbers Daily Makeover Conditioner
rated 2 of 5
marshmallowmoondrops 5/7/2011 4:43:00 PM

I really do not like this hair care line. I didn't use this conditioner, however, I used the Yes To Tomatoes Conditioner (I couldn't find this particular conditioner on the site to review, so I came here). First of all, I love that all of the ingredients are natural..that is why I give it 2 stars. But other than that, I don't like this conditioner AT ALL. Because the product is natural, it has a short shelf life. I bought this conditioner in November and it expired in January. Because I only use conditioner every other day, I still had about 3/4 of the bottle filled when it expired. WHAT A WASTE! I also saw no visible difference in my hair's quality when using this. It's also extremely expensive, especially taking into consideration that its shelf life is so incredibly short. Would I recommend and buy again? Absolutely not. I wasted so much money the last time I bought this that I can not even fathom wasting it again. It may have been different if it didn't expire in such a short amount of time, but even then, my hair was no better or worse when using it.

Blush -Physicians Formula - Happy Booster™ Glow & Mood Boosting Blush in rose
rated 2 of 5
marshmallowmoondrops 4/13/2011 9:06:00 PM

Okay, I'll give this blush this much: the packaging is absolutely adorable. If it weren't for the packaging, I'd rate this blush a 1. The reviews on this product, for me, are completely overrated. First off, the blush is overpriced. It was about $12 where I live from Walmart. The brush that it comes with is useless, so that went into the garbage. The blush smells LOVELY, however, that added fragrance made me breakout in areas that I normally don't break out. I also didn't feel any "happier" wearing the blush. The color effect was no better or worse than a generic Covergirl blush palette that you can get for about a quarter of the price of this one. Packaging aside, I just don't see why I would spend the money and deal with the breakouts just to have this blush...

Mascara -Maybelline - The Falsies in Black Drama
rated 4 of 5
marshmallowmoondrops 4/13/2011 8:59:00 PM

Fantastic mascara! I'm pretty hard to impress when it comes to the mascaras that I use. I rarely find one that makes my eyes pop. This one does that and more. The user pictures above are basically what my lashes looked like with one coat. I was absolutely amazed after I swept one coat on. It's long wearing too because I had it on all day without any flaking, smudging, and I didn't have to reapply. I was able to take it off with a little jojoba oil (my personal favorite makeup remover) with no problems. Will recommend and buy again. Wish I would have had this mascara for my wedding last week...
