This is a gorgeous color--a perfect alternative for pale types who want a strong lip but have trouble with reds (reds go fuschia on me). It is a deep, deep, dark pink with a tinge of brown. This lasts for hours but does not dry out my lips. LOVE.

Lipstick -Urban Decay - Lipstick

This is the new Urban Decay lipstick in the dagger-ended packaging--they discontinued by old, beloved UD metal tubes years ago. And once again (looking at you Primer Potion) the company has put a lovely product in TERRIBLE packaging. I bought "Wanted" a plummy YLBB color. After finallly figuring out how to open the tube (it wasn't just me, my teenaged daughter couldn't figure it out either), I found the lipstick itself to be nicely textured and a gorgeous color. I cannot speak to its advertising claims of magical lip-plumping abilities due to "tiny spheres." I think that's all marketing b.s. But the horrendous tube is described in the site blurb as being "weighty metal" and that is utter nonsense. It's all plastic, including the incredibly painful-to-fingers dagger handle at the end, which you must yank on to remove the lipstick from its clear plastic sheath. I can totally see this not closing correctly after you use it and smearing up the inside of your handbag. Ugh. The lipstick cost $22. It has a caramel fragrance which some may find objectionable. I got mine from Sephora.com, and it's going back today.

Blush -Tarte - Natural Swirl Full Blossom Cheek Stain

This is now my favorite blush. Lasts forever and is impossible to over-do (I'm very pale). You can also use this on your lips! That will help you justify the crazy-expensive price of the thing! The other Tarte "natural" blush is also very good, but more intense in color. Neither have the traditional sticky texture of Tarte blushes, they're just creamy and sheer and wonderful.

Lipstick -MAC - Twig-Twig

I was so excited to hear about this update of MAC's regular Twig--my all-time favorite lipstick. But Twig Twig is doesn't even compare. It's far too peachy, not enough pink, and so sheer it barely shows up. Boo. I'm sure it willl work for others, but not for me.

Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - Attar Bazaar French Rose

While the name seems rather random--it isn't that rose-y to me, or French--I find this incredibly soft and comforting and lovely. It smells exactly of a baby's head.

LOVE this. Love! I'll be smelling like this stuff all fall now! I can't see wearing this in hot weather, but we're almost done with summer so.... Beautiful from start to finish on me: amber, woody, with almost a ghost of vanilla--but not quite, and not in a sickeningly sweet way. I am not a fan of girly scents, nor do I want to wear men's fragrances. This falls somewhere in between. Very womanly. Very scrumptious.

It's too bad that under "Would you buy this product again?" there's not a catergory for "Not if you stuck hot,poisoned pokers in my eyes while you played Barry Manilow." This is the worst thing I have ever used in my entire makeu buying life. I followed the directions, and it still glued my eyes shut while I slept, 6 hours after I had applied it. Some sadist invented this. Horrible.
