Scrubs -Kiehls - Epidermal Re-Texturizing Micro-Dermabrasion

LOVE this product. It is quite effective in fading acne scars and smoothing out my skin. I can't stop touching my face because it is so soft. try not to put too much strength while scrubbing at first because it is quite a strong scrub and your face will end up all red. I don't really care for the Centella recovery lotion that goes with it (it is too greasy for my liking) but I will definately continue using this product

Hair -Kiehls - Olive Fruit Oil Repairative Hair Pak
marinatchka 4/20/2009 3:11:00 PM
I started using this a few weeks ago. I recently went for a hair cut and my stylist said that I had quite a few split ends. My hair is very thin and I don't heat style regularly but I guess somehow my hair started getting damaged. Usually my hair is also quite limp and lifeless so I was concerned about using a hair mask in that it might weigh my hair down too much and make it greasy. Quite the opposite actually!! This makes my hair very bouncy and very soft (not greasy at all, even when I use it on my roots). It's a lot easier to style after using this and looks soooooo healthy and shiny. I use it only on the hair that falls below my ears 2x/ week and once a week I apply over all my hair. The product isquite expensive but I've paid more for Kerastasse products that just weighed my hair down and did nothing positive for my hair.

Moisturizers -Kiehls - Ultra Facial Moisturizer
marinatchka 3/24/2009 5:19:00 PM
Started using this product recently. Have to use it sparingly or else my skin will get too oily/shiny. No breakouts at all using this for 3 weeks and I feel as though my pores are smaller. My trick is to use only a tiny drop and massage it in my face well to not leave any residue. It's great as a night cream. This is a no frills type of moisturizer that does it's job well. I'm worried that in the summer it may be too heavy but I will be using Shisheido Sun lotion and it's very drying so maybe the two products will balance each other out

Toners -Kiehls - Ultra Facial Toner

Loved this product. Removed dirt and whatever else was left over after washing my face and left my face feeling really good. Doesn't sting either. Fragrance free which is another plus. it does feel sticky for a split second before the product dries but afterwards you have nice smooth skin. Love this and would definately repurchase

Sunscreen -Neutrogena - Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunblock SPF 55

I really like the texture of this product. Once it dries, it barely feels like it is there. LIke the previous reviewer, I find that it does settle a bit in lines (although I don't have very many lines yet) and does leave my skin color a bit off although I always dust mineral foundation on top of it when I use it on my face. I just wish it had more UVA protection. I will be using this mainly everywhere but my face because of the low UVA protection level. I'm going on a trip to florida in mid-june so I'll see how this holds out. It still isn't as good as my HG sunscreen (the discontinued LRP derm peds spf 40) which lasted me through a summer in Greece and kept me as pale as I am in the winter.

Skincare - Face -Ombrelle - spf 40 sunscreen lotion
marinatchka 6/16/2008 3:45:00 PM
great product from ombrelle. i've stayed away from most of their sunscreens since they are heavy, sticky and greasy but yesterday I saw this one at the pharmacy and decided to give it a try. It is light, has minimal (but still some shine) shine that goes away with some powder, and isn't sticky or tacky. I can still feel it on my face when I touch my face but it's almost as good as my favorite LRP dermo peds spray (discontinued version). I noticed that during the day, I still have a bit of a "glow" from the sunscreen (not really shiny per say but you can see it). I actually kind of like this glow on my skin. So far i've only used this a handful of times but I'm liking it so far.

Blush -NARS - Orgasm Blush

I've had trouble finding the perfect blush in the past and on a trip to NYC, I decided to try out this blush. The sephora saleslady applied it on my cheeks and as soon as I looked in the mirror, i fell in love with this product. It gives me a subtle and sexy flush that looks very natural. I hate looking like I put on blush and using this product, I never get that look anymore. I wear it all the time: during the day and at night (where I use a bit more of the product) and it gives me a beautiful flush (otherwise I look much too pale and ghostlike). I dont find it too sparkly or too shiny at all (ive never noticed anyshine or sparkles). I guess I will have to see what it looks like on my darker (self-tanner) skin this summer. The only downside is the price of this blush in Canada (over 35 dollars plus 15% tax). I paid a little less than 25 in NYC

Sunscreen -RoC - Minesol Protect SPF 60 Ultra High Protection Sun Lotion

First of all, I really wanted to like this product. My HG is LRP Dermo Peds SPF 40 Spray (discontinued) and I was looking for a replacement that I could buy in Canada since I won't be going to Europe any time soon. I gave it two tries, once on a cloudly and cool day and the second time on a hot humid summer day. Both of these times, I had the same result: a sticky, "tacky" feeling, shiny mess that my hair wouldget stuck in whenever the wind blows. I tried putting powder on top of it, rubbing it in more, etc.. Nothing helped. It feels very much like Ombrelle or one of the heavier LRP products. I'm really disapointed.

Sunscreen -La Roche Posay - Anthelios Dermo-Pediatrics spray SPF40 PPD18 [DISCONTINUED]

LOVE LOVE LOVE this product. After years of trying to find the perfect sunscreen (UVA/UVB protection in a non greasy/shiny texture that feels amazing/as if I wasn't wearing any sunscreen at all), on a trip to Greece I picked up this product and fell in love. I was struggling to decide between this product and the fluid extreme. Although the fluid extreme has a higher ppd and spf rating, I picked this one because I heard good things about it and it was a larger format for a cheaper price (also, I live in Canada so this spf/ppd is perfect for me). It isn't very difficult to apply (i've never experienced it balling up on me) and I spray 8 times into my palm and then apply it on my face with my fingertips. I let it sink in and then apply MAC Studio Fix on top for a perfect finish. I used to use Vichy Gel Cream Spf 20 (not too bad but nowhere near in the same league as dermo-peds) and Ombrelle (great protection but awful gooey sticky shiny mess/texture). I picked up 3 bottles of the stuff and hopefully it will last for a few months until I manage to get to Europe again. I paid 15.95 euros per bottle including tax

Hair Color -L'Oreal - Feria Haircolor
marinatchka 2/28/2007 4:36:00 PM
Just used this product in deep spiced brown (number 45 i think) and I love the color. I have light brown hair naturally and this darkened it to a nice dark brown with hints of red. IN the sunlight, it looks much lighter and has some gold tones. Its a nice color and exactly what i was looking for the only reason i didnt like it was because of the smell. I colored my hair in the bathroom with the fan on and door open and felt like fainting due to the smell. my eyes were burning and it wasnt a very nice experience. the smell only bothered me while i was applying the color and not so much during the waiting time. i have no problem with strong smelling products but this one really was bad. my hair feels very soft and not dry at all (unlike what some other people experienced) I recomened this product but only to those who can tolerate the HORRIBLE smell.

Eyeliner -MAC - Fluidline Eye-Liner Gel in Blacktrack
marinatchka 12/13/2006 4:52:00 PM
Amazing product. I've used MAC's creamliner in the past and really liked the product and decided to try Fluidline since they no longer make CreamLiner. I was debating between Blitz and Glitter and Blacktrack but chose blacktrack because I wanted a deep classic black to get sexy Mod Girl eyes while blitz and glitz was a much softer black (also nice but I feel that I should start off my eyeliner collection with a basic black). I use a small/medium angle brush from Mac as a applicator which allows me to control the thickness of the line. If i wanted a smoky eyed look, I wipe off the excess product from the brush and smudge the line (quickly before it sets) I totally recommend this product and I find that it really is foolproof when you use the right brush.
