Lip Treatments -RoC - Enydrial Lip Balm

Great moisturizing lip balm. I re-purchased it multiple times. If you like it, you'll most likely the RoC Minesol SPF 20 lip balm, which is very similar, but has a stable sunscreen.

It's one of my ultimate HGs. Amazingly moisturizing lip balm with a stable sunscreen! A combo that is very difficult to find. I re-purchased it more than dozen times. My lips love it.

Pressed Powders -Physicians Formula - Powder Palette Multi-Colored Highlighter
mariadd 12/21/2007 7:46:00 PM
This review is for :Powder Palette® Multi-Colored Face Powder Highlighter with purple, pink, green, white, yellowish patches. This product works great for my pale sking with pink undertones. While it looks similar to Guerlain meteorites, it shows up on skin much more than meteorites. It gives me light natural tan color and livens up my dull skin. In fact it's the only product I found that enhances my natural skin color. Other powders look yellow or orange on my pale skin. It also controls oil well, I wear it on top of my sunscreen. The only complain is that the box is too massive. I wish I could carry it with me. I am going to re-pot it into a smaller container.

Treatments -Neostrata - Skin Brightener (20% Vit. C)
mariadd 11/25/2007 12:57:00 AM
Just bought this new product by Neostrata. It claims it evens out the skin tone. It's formulated with 20 percent L-ascorbic acid. I will update my review in several days, as I just started using it. So far my 2 cents are (1) it feels on the skin similar to Neostrata 10% Vit. C capsules. It has very silicony feel (the top ingredient is a silicone fluide). It's absolutely non-greasy and penetrates well. Can be weared during the day. (2) It feels fairly stable, unlike LRP vit. C serums, which turns yellow over time. (3) Unfortunately it is fragranced (4) I am astounded by the price: 70 CAD for 30 mil ...wow.... I expected it to be much much cheaper, Neostrata products are usually reasonably priced .... I'hope it'll be worth the price! Ingredients Cyclopentasiloxane, Ascorbic Acid, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Tribehenin, Ceramide 2, PEG-10, Rapeseed Sterol, Palmitoyl Oligopeptide, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance.

Treatments (Eye) -Shiseido - Bioperformance Super Eye Contour
mariadd 11/24/2007 1:17:00 PM
I am a type of person who uses skincare based on scientific evidence (i use sunscreen, Retin-A and Vit. C serums on a regular basis), so I was angry at myself for buying this product, especially since the price is steep ( 89 CAD for 15 ml). I felt even worse after I read the ingredient list and did not see any miracle ingredients in it. It does contain retinol, vit. C and vit. E, but so do many cheaper creams. Surprisingly it turned out to be a fairly good moisturiser. The fine line under the eyes are visibly plumped and look much less visible. I do not see any difference in dark cirlces or puffiness. I take off one lippie for the price. Ingredients Water, pentaerythrityl tetraoctanoate, hydrogenated c6-14 olefin polymers, butylene glycol, glycerin, behenyl alcohol, dimethicone, petrolatum, silica, ppg-12/SMDI copolymer, tocoperyl acetate, polyqayrternium-51, retinyl acetate, mortierella oil, magnesium ascorbyl phosphate, saccharomyces lysate extract, sodium acetylated hyaluronate, gambir extract, rosa roxburghii extract, hydrogenated palm oil, stearyl alcohol, beneth-20, palm kernel oil, palm oil, carbomer, trisodium edta, sunflower seed oil, bht, potassium hydroxide, alcohol, tocopherol, citric acid, phenoxyethanol, methylparaben, ethylparaben, fragrance, beta-carotene

Conditioner -Pureology - COLOURMAX
mariadd 7/29/2007 5:46:00 PM
Love! My hair is baby-fine and long ... most creamy conditioners weight it down easily. For best results, I shampoo twice (any relatively deep-cleaning shampoo may work, e.g. Pureology volume), apply Redken Anti-Snap and follow with this leave-in spray. My hair becomes super soft and has a lot of body!!

(Review for "Highlight and Blush")
My favourite blush... great staying powder.. it is cool pink/plum/mauev and gives me perfect natural flushed look ...(I am MAC NW 15) even my SO complimented it. BUT the packaging is awful, I'll depot it as soon as I have time and will use the regular compact powder case. What is going on with Physicians Formula , all their packaging is just crazy???

Highlighters -Physicians Formula - Virtual Face Powder in Highlighter
mariadd 6/25/2006 5:33:00 PM
I love this as a finishing tough after loose powder to get some glow and highlights on my cheeckbones. It's a little bit too shimmery (compared to ideal), but overall gives nice glow and may replace Gerlain meteorites in my regime. The packaging is as bad as in most other Ph.F. products.

Sunscreen -Bioderma - Photoderm MAX Fluide SPF 50 PPD 35
mariadd 6/19/2006 8:27:00 PM
I used Photoderm MAX Fluide only for two-three days and in my opinion it is very similar Photoderm MAX Lait which is I use daily. I think it is a vey good sunscreen, but I will not re-purchase because the pricing is not reasonable (the Lait is almost twice cheaper). Otherwise the review of Bioderma Lait applies....

Sunscreen -Bioderma - Photoderm MAX Lait SPF 50 PPD 35
mariadd 6/19/2006 8:11:00 PM
Bioderma Lait is tricky to apply but the result is worth it. If applied onto moisturizers it absorbs very poorly and can leave the white cast. My first experience with it was so bad, i thought I'd never try it again. However with a little experimenting i figured the way it works for me. The trick is to apply onto a very clean skin (I use oil cleansers). The sunscreen absorbs quickly and dries to almost matte. In a perfect situation it leaves no white cast at all. In not so perfect situation it may leave a little white cast (similar to the Shiseido sunscreen). If you wear makeup on top, you won't notice it.
If you find it too white, you can mix it with Bioderma tinted sunscreen. However the color of the tint is to yellow for my skin tone.

Eye Shadow -Almay - Intense i-Color powder shadow Trio for Browns
mariadd 5/3/2006 9:13:00 PM
I think this trio actually brought out brown in my green-hazel eyes. The highlighter is amazing, I use it on my eyes and on top of my cheeks. Pink is very light and just perfect for my pale skin. Brown is very pretty too, but I find it difficult to apply. My only negative comment is that I found out I actually do not like my eyes looking brownish, I prefer when my eyes look green. UPDATE I thought I lost my mind when I saw the trio in the store and colors were different from mine. Apparently there are 2 collections, Play Up and Intensfy. Mascara -L'Oreal - Volume Shocking Mascara [DISCONTINUED]
mariadd 4/25/2006 6:56:00 PM
The only shocking thing about this mascara is it quality. PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT APPLYING IT WITHOUT EXTRA LASH COMB! Clumping and sticked together lashes are garanteed. I believe that if you practice long enough you'll be able to get decent lashes. But I think the effort will not really be worth it.

Styling Products -Got 2 Be - 2 Sexy Voluptuous Volume Mousse
mariadd 4/24/2006 8:29:00 PM
Hair type: long, baby-fine, flat, extremely hard to style
I am always too lazy to add a new product unless this product ROCKS! I used to think that there is always a trade-off: the product either adds volume, but makes hair crunchy/sticky/impossible to comb through, or gives flat but sleek hair. This is the first product that proves I was wrong! It gives tons of volume and shine and hair combs through very easily. A a drugstore price, you must try this!

Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Exact
mariadd 4/23/2006 8:45:00 PM
Great mascara, gives slick long well-defined lashes, and zero clumps. Remindes me of Clinique Naturally Glossy Mascara. So far the only drugstore mascara I am planning to repurchase.
Update: the mascara worked well for a week, but then it seemed to dry out, and come off lashes in little clumps and smudge under the eyes. It does not hold the curl at all. My first impression of this product was very wrong. My HG Dior Show mascara is much better' i never had any problems with it.
I still like the brush though, I'll try to use it with some other products.
