BB Cream -Maybelline - Dream Fresh 8-in-1 BB Cream

I found this BB to be just OK. I tried it because I'm new to BB creams and wanted to compare to the first one I ever used, which was Garnier. This has a nice, creamy consistency and is easy to blend, and I like that it has SPF 30. However, it doesn't last on my face as well as the Garnier, and it seems to dry out my skin. I'll hang onto it and see how it does in the hot humid days of summer, when my skin isn't as dry, but for now I'm going back to Garnier.

Polishes -Sally Hansen - Insta-Dri Nailpolish Colors

I love the Insta-Dri line. The polish goes on smoothly and spreads evenly, and it really does dry quickly. One coat will usualy do the job adequately, but if I'm not in a hurry I'll put on two. Count me among those who love the brush. I use bottom and top coats, so my manicures usually last about a week with this. It does seem to chip easier than other polishes I own, but it's not too bad.

Moisturizers -Ponds - Dry Skin Cream

This is a really nice moisturizer that I use on days when I want to give my skin a break from the retinol products I use most of the time (Neutrogena Rapid Tone Repair in the day and Rapid Wrinkle Repair at night). It's a heavier cream, but goes into my skin well and leaves it very moisturized pretty much all day. I have no problem putting make-up on over it. It doesn't have SPF, so I use regular sunscreen over it if I'm going to be outside.

I decided to try this after I'd been using the Rapid Wrinkle Repair night version for a few months. I love it! It's a smooth cream that's not too heavy, goes on well and doesn't leave a shiny finish on my skin, nor can I smell the sunscreen. It leaves my skin soft and smooth. I noticed more even tone within the first week I was told that using retinol products both day and night might be more drying, and I did have a small problem with that, so I usually have one day a week where I use a non-retinol moisturizer during the day and olive oil at night -- drying problem solved.

Blush -Cover Girl - Cheekers in Natural Twinkle

Natural Twinkle is a pretty color that looks good on my skin. It's not a very saturated color, and has OK staying power. I keep a small bobby pin in the case so I can lightly scrape the surface of the blush to turn a little of it into a loose powder. If I don't do that, I don't seem to get much on my brush, which means no color on my skin. I don't care for the little sparkles is leaves on my face, but those can't be seen unless you look very closely -- closer than most people would normally get. I've been using this blush for a year, but I'm going to start looking for something else that might have more pigment and last longer before needing a touch-up.

I love this stuff! I don't have much in the way of real wrinkles, but the fine lines are starting to show up. This helped reduce them (or the look of them) in just a few days. It also has made my skin feel smoother and softer. I still use olive oil a couple nights a week, and go back to this with no problems or let-up in the smoothing and softening properties. I may have found my new HG! Will definitely repurchase.

BB Cream -Garnier - BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfector - Light/Medium

I've been using this for a couple months and like it. Since there were only two color options, I was skeptical that this would blend into my skin, but it does so perfectly. It has a nice, smooth, creamy consitency, and unlike some other reviewers, I've had no problem with how it comes out of the tube. I frequently use moistrurizer underneath because my skin is pretty dry. It covers better than a tinted moisturizer, but not as well as a real foundation. For me, however, the coverage is perfect - I prefer a more sheer formula. It stays put pretty well -- I can usually make it through a full work day and into the evening. Since it's the first BB cream I've tried, I will check out a few other drugstore brands, but will have no problem repurchasing this one if I don't find another I like better.

Great stuff! Smells good, absorbs well, and leaves my cuticles soft. I rub it all over my nails, too, and it leaves them looking shiny and newly buffed.

Lip Treatments -Burt's Bees - Tinted Lip Balm - Hibiscus

I'm not a fan of lipstick, but I do use glosses and balms so I don't look like a dead thing. I love the way this feels on my lips, and how well it moisturizes. The color is pretty and seems to last for a few hours. I also like that it doesn't taste "mediciney." Will buy again.

I love this polish! It goes on smoothly and easily lasts a week when I use base and top coats. It might last longer, but I don't usually keep a manicure longer than that. The flat brush makes application a breeze. I'll definitely buy more of this in different colors.

I use the non-acetone NP remover. I have to rub a little more to remove dark colors, but it cuts through top coat, two coats of polish and base coat very well. The smell isn't too obnoxious. I always follow with cuticle oil, to keep my nails and cuticles from drying out.

Mascara -L'Oreal - Voluminous Million Lashes - waterproof

I tried Voluminous a few years ago and didn't like it, so it took some convincing to make me try this. It's my new HG mascara! I have short, sparse lashes. This adds length and volume, but not so much that it looks like a glob across my eyelid. It holds the curl until I take it off, and my lashes feel soft all day long, with no smudging or flaking. I usually only put on one coat and that one coat does wonders. If I have to glam up a bit, I've used two coats, and that's about all I need. I'll definitely repurchase.

Mascara -Mary Kay - Signature Waterproof

I'm not a fan of mascara, but I have short, sparse lashes, so I use the stuff when I go to work or out in the evening. I had really liked Panaramic Curl waterproof, but when they discontinued it, I had to find something else. This one is so-so. It goes on well and looks good, but it smudges pretty badly by the end of the day. I'd rather go without mascara than look like a raccoon, so I won't be buying this again.

I'm not a fan of mascara, but I need to use it. I really liked Panaramic Curl, but it's been discontinued. I found this one to be OK. I do like the round brush and how I can get it to every single lash, including the difficult-to-reach ones in the corners. On the other hand, it takes longer to put this on because each stroke of the brush only covers a small area. That's a pain when I'm trying to get out the door in the morning. It holds the curl well, doesn't smudge or flake, and separates the lashes, but it tends to leave me with that spider-leg look if I'm not careful. I'm going to keep looking for my new HG, but might come back to this one if I can't find something better.
