Bath Treatments -LUSH - Bathos Bubble Bar ] [DISCONTINUED]
mangolola 12/12/2010 1:15:00 AM
NOOOOO!!!! its being discontinued!!!!! Dang. This is a really good smelling bubble bar. It makes the water a neat lavendar color with tons of bubbles. It smells like really good sweet violet candy. Darn.. RIP Bathos. :(
ok. So i tried the sample bottle at the check out desk. Wow i was suprised. I was expecting a very heavy vanilla fruit smell with lots of musk. Not at all.. this is so light on me. I get little hints of Twilight Woods, but not enough to confuse it with it. I am not too fond of Twilight Woods, its just ho-hum for me. But Dark Kiss is just wonderful. Its a very creamy fruit smell. Not too fruity, just a hint of a sweet mild fruit like a blueberry or black berry smell. No tartness at all though. And its a dark vanilla smell, not too musky though. Maybe a tiny bit of the amber smell. And then i smell christmas..like tree. I def catch the tree balsam notes in it and its a good add. It makes it a sweet woodsy smell. It does remind me of Therry Muiglers Angel, but just more creamier and sweeter, and not so pungent, more girly. Yep. Me likey :)
Cleansers -Boscia - MakeUp-BreakUp Cool Cleansing Oil

wowiee. this stuff would remove tar off your face if it had too. This gets all my makeup off without so much as a gentle rub over my skin. I love it. Yes it does dry your skin out a bit, but its made to do that. As long as i moisturize after ( like you are supposed to anyways) i have no problems with dryness. You are basically fighting oil with oil. This stuff is great. I have pretty sensitive skin and i havent had any problems with rashes or anything yet. BUT i dont use this everyday, only when i use something waterproof or dark that my regular cleaner cant remove, so maybe thats the difference. But i do plan on repurchasing when this is done.
Tinted Moisturizer -MAC - Studio Moisture Tint SPF15
mangolola 8/7/2010 12:31:00 AM
This is the best tinted moisturiser ever. I hate heavy foundation. Sometimes other tinted moisturisers are streaky, or greasy, or too dry. but not this one. It fades into my skin and looks great. I rotate between the lighter one and the med/dark one for winter and summer. You can use concealer over or under them if you want heavier coverage. Great color matches too. I keep trying other brands but always end up back to MAC. :)
Disapointed with this. It smells good on other people, i smell the flowers in it on them. But on me its just blah and gross. It starts out as a blast of a heavy dirty smell, then fades into a Deet-ish bug spray citrus scent. Not good. This turns bad on me, and has no wow factor. Oh well guess that saves me the money i would be using to purchase it.
In the store this smelled really light and refreshing. I got a green flowery smell... BUT... when i got home it was straight baby's butt. OMG baby powder-o-rama. GAG. I have no clue how I thought this was good in the store, must be all the foofooy stuff in the air. Its going back tomorrow.
ok so i actually like this stuff, and im totally a nude gloss or balm person. I never go for colors on my lips but this nice pink color caught my attention. Its like a glossy chapstick sort of. I really like the color, a little bright but really pretty. Its not the greatest moisturizer but i think it does a good job. No glitzy sparkles or crazy shine, just a nice pink. I think it does look good on darker or olive or tanned skinned though, the fair skinned might look a bit bright with it on.
i wish i could pick a 'maybe' for buying again... this is a tricky one. At first i hated the smell. To me, its an obnoxious mix of herbs and tortillas. Yep - i said it- it makes my hair smell like tortillas. haha. anyways, i was having trouble getting this to work for me. I would rub it straight on my hair, that didnt work. I was then taking a tiny piece off and rubbing it between my fingers and hands until i had a paste, but then it wasnt enough and just sucked all together. So then, i found the best way to use it was to take the chunk, put it in a tupperware, mash it up with a fork and add a little water, and then i was left with a paste i could work with. This works for me. BUT it defeats the purpose of a container free product. So yeah, no. It was fun while it lasted, but when its gone i think i will stick to my other normal conditioners. It doesnt really do a super job on conditioning either, it just does well enough to where it gets me by.
Fragrances -Bath and Body Works - Sweet Pea Limited Edition Eau de Parfum (EDP)
mangolola 1/18/2010 7:18:00 PM
I love this stuff. It smells wonderful. Very fresh and sweet... the other reviewers are on crack...i think it smells great. I get no old lady scents out of it at all - but then again i like the sweet smells and cant stand the nasty musks, like the ambers and powders... yuck. This is my favorite EDP out of all of the scents. The lasting power is pretty good, not great - but it stays for a while. I just think its a fun fruity flowery scent that smells sweet and clean. It is like the Sweet Pea body spray, but a tiny bit sweeter and better.
Lotions/ Creams -The Body Shop - Wild Cherry body butter
mangolola 1/18/2010 6:58:00 PM
I picked up a small tub of the Cherry body butter when i was buying presents for others. I wanted to try it out, seems how cherry stuff hasnt been too popular with body lines lately and it caught my eye. Welllll... it definitly is a true cherry smell. If you are looking for a sweet candy tart cherry scent, this is NOT it. This is a very realistic mellow cherry smell. As if the actual chopped up fruit was right in front of your nose. Not very sweet smelling like the strawberry Body Shop fragrance - more of a true cherry. I love the consistancy of the butter itself. Its very creamy and 'slick' if that makes any sense. Its not a very dense butter, but more of a runny butter. I love they way it feels and soaks in very nicely. Doesnt leave any stickyness or grimyness like other butters do. Over all i really like it, the smell is a bit weird at times but good other than that.
I tried this on today when i breezed by Sephora in the mall. I must say i am pleasantly surprised! I really like it. I picked up sinner first, drawn to the name i guess, but was turned off by the strong patchouli smell i got from just sniffing the bottle. (i know i didnt give it the chance it deserved, but i just wanted to try one at a time) So i grabbed Saint and sprayed it just from reading the description as sweet. It started of nice and sweet - not as sweet as Pink Sugar, but a nice mellow vanilla creamy smell. And i also picked up some sort of fresh scent, like a very clean smell. If it is possible to imagine sweet and clean, that is what i think of it. I really liked it. Now a few hours later it has faded into a nice floraly smell. The sweet is gone, but the smell has transformed into a very fresh modern scent. I like this, and i am going to purchase!!
Hair -Nioxin - Thinning Hair System 4 (coloured hair)
mangolola 8/27/2009 2:10:00 PM
im on the fence with this product. I bought a starter kit #4 at a salon because im sick of my thin crappy hair getting thinner. I bleach my hair like crazy, have breakage, and recently went off the b/c pill. This has caused my hair to become thin and gross, and i wanted to try Nioxin out. I might buy this again, i have to see how it goes because i have only been using it about a month. I hate the shampoo. It doesnt lather at all, and i feel like i have to use more because of that. The conditioner is ok, just minty. I dont get any scalp tingles like others have said. I use the foam stuff that came in kit on my wet hair and it kind of leaves my hair nasty. It dries dull and kind of weird feeling like it has alot of product in it. If i get any results out of this i will keep using, but if not, im done.
Fragrances -BeneFit Cosmetics - Laugh with Me LeeLee

If i could pick "maybe" for buy again i would have selected that. This is an interesting scent. It is very playful fresh light scent, and almost too light because it has faded completely off my skin. Its very tart/ sharp - i do agree with the other reviews. It does almost smell generic, not anything stand out-ish about it. However, it is my 2nd favorite of the three scents in the group ( my favorite being Something About Sophia.) It kind of made my nose fizzle a bit, its a very fizzy tart green scent.
Fragrances -BeneFit Cosmetics - My Place or Yours Gina
mangolola 8/4/2009 11:58:00 PM
I tried a sample of this earlier and its just too powerfull and serious for me. I smell no fruit or sweetness what so ever - but i do smell some serious piney earthy scents, and alot of patchouli. It almost reminds me of Therry Mugler's Angel. (sorry i know i probably butchered the spelling on that). It is a nice scent, but just not for me. Too edgy and cool toned and earthy.
Fragrances -BeneFit Cosmetics - Something About Sophia

i got Sofia as a free sample in my sephora picks - its rather nice i think. NOt what i was expecting but nice. At first when i sprayed it i got almost a clovey kind of cinnamon burst. It turned into a very nice warm vanilla-y fruity scent. I thought it was very light and pleasant - i would use it more in the fall and winter. It has a warm comforting tone to it. I catch tiny hints of a warm powder tone to it too - but nothing overpowering. I like this fragrance.
