I don't know if I just ended up buying a dried out tube or something, but I just opened this mascara 2-3 weeks back and just threw it out today. It was super dry and hurt my lashes to try to get any of it on. Even so, it hardly did anything for them. I didn't expect my lashes to look crazy, but even for a natural look, it did nothing. Thoroughly disappointed. This was my first Physician's Formula mascara -- not so sure if I will be trying any again anytime soon.
I'm guessing I got a dud because I ordered this online and was truly disappointed to find the blush had no pigmentation at all. Such a disappointment. I don't know if I'll bother repurchasing it. If I'm going to spend twice the amount, I might as well try another brand that is more consistent with its quality.
Terrible. I don't even know what else to say. I ordered this online, thought it'd be fun to try out. It can't be that awful- right? Wrong! I opened the tube and it's practically try. Trying to get this on my lashes is painful. At best, it darkens them slightly. Such a disappointment. I don't know if I just got a dud- but either way, that's not cool.
Lotions/ Creams -Bath and Body Works - Rio Rumberry Body Lotion
manamana 5/16/2012 6:13:00 PM
I got a little sample size bottle of this for Christmas. I've never used bath & body works lotions before and although I have no complaints with the lotion- the scent is just too overpowering for my taste. It is super sweet (fruity) and just covers up any other possible scent. If you are a fan, this is great but if you are on the wall about the scent than you may want to stay away from it. I won't have a problem using it up, but I may want to try something else with a scent that I'd rather prefer in the future.
You can't deny that whether you consider the value of these brushes, their quality is superb! I picked this up very randomly and did not find a use for it for quite some time. Recently, I started using it to apply bronzer and love it. It is so soft and gentle and does not shed one bit. The shape helps to automatically work on contouring my cheeks (I don't really contour much). Great brush to have in any collection!
I absolutely love this product, it is my HG bronzer! I initially picked this up to use as an eye-shadow (I did not wear blush/bronzer at the time). Then one random day I decided to give this a go as a bronzer and loved how it made me glow. It is perfect! I just sweep my brush mostly through the bottom three shade and light dust my cheeks (also slightly contouring them, nothing drastic) and it looks great. This is shimmery, so I can understand a lot of people not preferring this. But I think if you have warm undertones and a medium to dark complexion you can completely pull this off. it's also great for a summery, bronzey/glamorous eye-look. I honestly rarely ever use it as a eye-shadow anymore, but love love love it. I am on my second one and although this is rather pricey for drugstore- it lasts a long time and is well worth it!
Treatments -L'Oreal - Hair detangler (l'oreal kids)
manamana 4/22/2012 5:34:00 PM
Detanglers seem to last a life-time and since I recently finished my old one I was on the hunt for something else. I was a little surprised to realize that there weren't as many options out there as I had first thought. Then I read someone mention this online and I found it the next time I was out. I know it is meant for kids, but I figured if it can help a kid and make things easier, then it should def. be a hit with the adults. I have no complaints so far! It smells strongly like pears, but you don't walk around smelling like pears all day. It def. helps detangling and is a decent price as well. Win-win.
I'm not in much of a position to say a lot abt this product. But I did receive a sample and used it so I thought it wouldn't hurt to say something. I don't have mature skin, but I have been having trouble with acne lately (which I haven't in years). I did find that this helped with my acne as I quit using other treatments at night while using this (well, besides my toner before applying this). It is a smooth, light consistency and does not seem to dry out my skin. If it really does help with aging skin, as so many ppl say than I can def. see how this product would be well worth the price to its target audience!
Eyeliner -Rimmel - Soft Kohl Kajal Eye Pencil in Pure White
manamana 4/22/2012 5:24:00 PM
I bought this to experiment with wearing on my water-line. I have a couple of other colors in these pencils, and I like them all (although I don't wear any of them on my waterline). I was really disappointed with this. It is rather soft (not the softest out there) but it is chalky and doesn't give the look I wanted to try out on my water-line. I've tried using it in other ways and haven't had much success. I don't really know what to do with this at this point since I hate wasting products. Don't bother wasting your money on this- not worth it.
Powder -L'Oreal - True Match Super-Blendable Powder
manamana 4/22/2012 3:33:00 PM
I particularly love this line because of the variety of shades it comes in. I have a hard time finding products with warm undertones and this is a perfect match for me! The product is soft, pigmented and easy to work with. Not sure if I would ever use the sponge it comes with; I apply it with a powder brush to set in my concealer and even out my skin. I think this works great! It hasn't broken me out, it looks natural, it matches my skin and provides me with some very light, natural coverage. I imagine if I wore foundation underneath, this would be a major bonus. I def. think I will be buying this again just because it has been so dependable. Even if I do stray and try some other products, I can see this remaining as a staple in my collection.
I finally purchased a bunch of NYX products and am in love with this blush!! I only started wearing blush regularly last year, and have been on the hunt for nice, wearable ones. This has quickly achieved HG status for me. It is a soft, peachy pink with a very tasteful shimmer. It gives me the prettiest, healthy glow that I have ever seen- I love it!! The packaging is simple, but I really don't care since the product is so wonderful. I actually like that it isn't very bulky. I've seen a lot of comparisons here to NARs orgasm but I have no clue if they are valid. I didn't even really know that when I purchased this. I found it on a 40% off sale, so I can't even complain abt the price at all. Love love love this and highly recommend it to everyone, unless you have rather dark complexion because then this may not show up much.
Mascara -Wet 'n' Wild - MegaVolume Thickening Mascara
manamana 4/22/2012 3:14:00 PM
I have been on a mission to try different mascaras and since this was one of the cheapest options at the drugstore, I decided to generously give it a try. I have never tried a WnW mascara and to be honest, considering the price, I did not go on with high expectations. The packaging is average, and the brush is very traditional. However, I don't understand how this can be labelled "Volumizing" in any way. I think this is great for an everyday, casual look...or esp. if you hate overly dramatic lashes. I don't mind wearing this day to day, it gets the job done, brings a little more attention to my lashes and isn't messy. But, I would def. not turn to this if I were going out, and I def. don't plan on re-purchasing it. I think this would be great for younger girls, starting out with makeup who don't want dramatic looks. I'm glad I gave it a try, and I will finish using it, but def. don't plan on re-purchasing in the future. I had to come back and add that on further reflection, I'm a little disappointed with this product- mostly because of it's priced. I bought this because of how cheap it was (and therefore, had few expectations). Recently, however I realized that the amt of product you get is half that of most products so in reality, this really isn't that cheap. It's price compares to a lot of better quality mascaras at the drugstore (when you double it to compensate for product).
I bought two of these polishes recently and tried this one out first because I was SO excited about the color. I have been wanting a happy, coral, spring color like this for a while and it looks fabulous. You can get away with 1 coat, but I prefer 2. I was also impressed that there actually is a sweet scent that lingers for some time after. On the down side, I have to say that for the price the quality isn't the best. It takes quite a long time to dry and chips quickly. I usu only buy cheaper nailpolishes so I don't mind the chipping - I pretty much expect it. I bought my revlon polishes on sale, so didn't really mind any of these troubles though. This will def. be a staple for me this spring/summer.
Lips -Revlon - Colorburst Lip Butter in Sweet Tart
manamana 4/12/2012 9:50:00 PM
Where do I even begin? My first lip butter was in peach parfait- a safe color that works out as a peachy nude and I loved it! I decided to get a bit adventurous and bought this brighter pink to really celebrate spring/summer. I was pretty nervous abt wearing it since I never ever leave peachy/nude/earthy colors. But good lord, I love it! It is obviously moisturizing, and so easy to apply. Great pigmentation and I'm loving it. I think a lot of people can pull off this color with a nice, neutral/natural look. Such a great pop of color! I do find that the lip butters are slightly over-priced, but after buying my first one, I've bought a couple on sales online and didn't feel bad about it at all.
Primer/ Corrector -New York Color - Smooth Skin Perfecting Primer
manamana 4/9/2012 12:26:00 AM
I recently started using primer last year and although I don't wear foundation, I absolutely loved it! Since I have also been experimenting in the drugstore, I decided to pick this up because this was the most inexpensive one I'd see so far, and I figured at some point I would give it a try. All I can is that I am glad I've only ended up wasting about $4. This stuff is terrible! It may feel slightly smooth, but it has shimmer in it- lots of it. I'm not one to complain abt shimmer in most products but this is just ridiculous! When I tried it the first few times I felt like my face looked super shiny and I couldn't be sure why or what was causing it. Finally, I stopped using this and figured it was something about it. I wasn't sure until one day I swatched some on my hand and actually saw it glittering. I don't know who would ever like this because it's not a dewy finish - it just makes you glitter. I rarely hate products, and I always try to find some use of a product, but this looks like it may find itself in the trash soon!
