This is really nice natural blush. I am slowly trying to convert most of my cosmetics to natural/ organic alternatives, and this is one of my favorites so far. It is certified organic in Australia, but not really sure how compatible that is to USDA standards. It definitely leaves out the major no-nos. No parabens, petroleum products, aluminum. lake dyes etc. I have it in shade 950 - which is a rich orangey- bronze color. When I saw it in the pan ( a small black compact with mirror), pretty small for a blush, I thought it looked unnatural, but when I put it in on I was pleasantly surprised how it left a natural bronze tone to my cheeks. It is highly pigmented and lasts a long time. Really only a very light dab on your brush is all you need for each cheek. The price is a little on the high side, I wish it was a little more affordable/ accessible, I could only find it online Pros: pigment organic/natural long-wearing Cons: price accessibility

Lip Gloss -L'Oreal - color juice in pink grapefruit

This is one of my favorite glosses. The price is pretty decent to me, and it gives lips a lightly milky nude color with a slight hint of pink. I naturally gravitate toward these shades of glosses as they look good with anything from a basic everyday face to all out smokey eye look. It gives high shine with a fruity flavor( the flavor/ smell is a little bit overwhelming to me). It is on the sticky side, the if you're out when its windy your hair will get caught in it. These are very similar to Lancome juicy tubes at a fraction of the cost. I love them and recommend if you like high shine pigmented glosses. Pros: right amount of pigment shine long-lasting Cons: sticky

Lips -Yves Saint Laurent - Volupte Sheer Candy Glossy Balm

I love this lip product. It feels like the perfect combination of lipstick and gloss. It leaves your lips moisturized with a slightly wet look. #2 is a nice nude and perfect with a dark eye look, which I generally wear. It does have a slight flavor, but I like it. The packaging is gorgeous and I love the silver instead of the normal gold. Highly recommended Pros: nice finish moisturizing pleasant flavor the outer package is just as great as the inside Cons: price

Blush -Josie Maran Cosmetics - Argan Color Stick
rated 4 of 5

I really like this "color stick". Blush in a twist-up tube?! What happened to powder blush?? This argan based product states you can use for either lips or cheeks, but I found it dried out my lips so keep it just a cheek product not to mention due the size its just awkward for lip application unless you use a brush. The formulation feels like somewhere in between creme products and moisturizing balm. I have it in "Rosey" and its a beautiful deep pink-rose shade with gold micro-glitter. Not a big fan of the glitter, but the shade is nice. The shade gives a nice subtle dewy effect. ( A little goes a long way with this one) The wear isn't super long, but the effect is pretty enough that I don't mind re-applying. It brightens the face nicely. On my lazy days ( they happen a bit more than I'd like to admit)I just use three things sunscreen, this, and little bit of mascara. I'd recommend this. Pros: +Color +portability + natural +multitasking Cons: +slightly medicinal/ herbal smell +short wear time

Eyeliner -Urban Decay - 24/7 Eyeliner Pencil
rated 5 of 5

This is one of the best eyeliners I have ever tried. It does glide right over the eye area and last 12+ hour workdays/ or fun nights. I really love that when I put this on the lashline and leave the house in the morning I don't have to stick it in my bag because I know I won't need a touch-up. A make-up bag staple, but will not lie you can find cheaper comparable pencils. The array of colors is wonderful, Zero(black) and Whiskey(Deep Brown) look great for the day looks, and electric( bright teal) and ransom ( true purple) are my go to "fun" eyeliner looks. The variety of colors match all the eyeliner needs I have in my life a subtle color for the office and fun shades for my personal time, I love neon makeup but have tried to tone it down a bit. The main downside to me is the cost, since more comparable pencils are being offered for less, and if you live in a humid area they are prone to the crumble/ smudge that can happen to these types of pencils. Just put them in the fridge before you sharpen/ apply. Pros: MANY color choices long wear smooth ( no wrinkle makers here) cruelty free barrels matched to shade of pencil Cons: price don't last on waterline( for me anyway) more like 1/1 pencils on waterline ( do wear contacts though) Keep your eyes open as there are usually nice sets available of these to get around the price

Mascara -Almay - One Coat Dial Up
rated 2 of 5
makeupthebreakup 1/28/2012 2:19:00 PM

I too found this at a dollar store ( should be a red flag no?) I liked the idea of being able to have a subtle day mascara ( level 1) or a dramatic one ( level 3) or anywhere in between all in one tube, but twisting the tube up has only one real effect, giving you clumps galore. Even at level 1 the brush is overloaded with mascara and it smudged within hours. Added more volume than length. Would not recommend, there are much better mascaras even almay mascaras out there Pros: Rich black color didn't irritate contacts Cons: overloaded brush no real "dial up" effect smudges
