Polishes -OPI - A Grape Fit

I adore this colour but it doesn't go with every outfit which is annoying. If this purple was a bit more pink toned it would be perfect <3

Lipstick -Nivea - lip care pearl and shine
rated 2 of 5
makeupnoobie143 4/23/2013 4:44:00 AM

This does not look drying on the lips, however it feels VERY drying on them. The tint of this lipbalm is shimmery and is a cool-toned pink that looks sort of strange on my warm skin tone but I did like the tint initially. Bottom line: would not repurchase even though its cheap

Lip Treatments -Chapstick - Ultra SPF 30
rated 3 of 5
makeupnoobie143 4/23/2013 4:41:00 AM

This feels moisturising at first and I love how it is SPF30+, the reason why I bought it in the first place but this balm feels quite gross on my lips as it starts to dry/absorb and i usually end up wiping it off because it does not feel good! I only reach for this at places like the beach or when I'm out for a walk or in other instances when I'm exposed to sun, but I do not like this for its moisturising abilities. I also really like the lemony scent, but it doesn't taste very nice.... it tastes like sunscreen or something similar

Eyeliner -Rimmel - Glam Eyes Professional Liquid Liner
rated 3 of 5
makeupnoobie143 4/23/2013 4:33:00 AM

This liner is nice and black but it is quite annoying as the brush is tapered and is not stable so it is hard to achieve a nice solid line. Basically, this eyeliner does take a lot more effort to make a cat eye, maybe its because I prefer felt over brush liners. Also this takes a very long time to dry which is very annoying because it transfers to my upper eyelid if I don't wait for it to dry for a couple minutes first. I would rather have bought the exaggerate liquid liner instead of this for a dollar extra.

Powder -Nude by Nature - Natural Mineral Cover
rated 3 of 5
makeupnoobie143 4/23/2013 4:28:00 AM

I wish they would make a pressed version of this... if they did i would buy it again My skin is normal and this definately needs a good moisturising primer/base before use as this catches any dry skin AT ALL. This has decent coverage and looks extremely natural on my skin tone. Also this is quite pricey but I got a sample version for free from my friend's mother's company :3

Mascara -Maybelline - Define A Lash
rated 3 of 5
makeupnoobie143 4/23/2013 4:25:00 AM

I think that the packaging is very cute, I'm not a very big fan on the brush though, it wiggles too much so I can't coat each lash effectively. This does not flake or smudge on me and removal is easy but this mascara leaves my eyelashes looking spiky and almost weird. However, this does define and add a lot of length (although not nice looking length), and does what is says it will do. This does not hold a curl at all but I have the non-waterproof version.

Mascara -Max Factor - False lash effect
rated 2 of 5
makeupnoobie143 4/23/2013 4:22:00 AM

This smudges quite a lot, dries out very quickly, flakes.... and on my lashes... the effect is neither eye opening. Maybe this is because I already have quite a few lashes so I do not need them to be volumised for a "false lash effect", but netherless I still do not like this mascara.. at all. The brush also gets mascara all over my lids which is annoying. Will not repurchase.. i regret buying this at all actually

Polishes -Essence - Nail Polish
rated 4 of 5
makeupnoobie143 4/23/2013 4:17:00 AM

I have this in fatal red and application is soooo enjoyable and easy! However I do wish that the brush was a bit slimmer so that I wouldn't get this all over my cuticles GRRR. Fatal red is a beautiful rich apple red colour. I absolutely adore this on both my nails on both my toes and fingers as it is just a classic that every girl needs! :) This dries very quickly and is quite opaque in one coat, but I apply two coats just for a stronger colour and better finish. This doesn't have the best lasting power, but that is not the point of the polish, after 2 days, there were visible chips on my middle and index fingers on both hands, which is why I'm taking off a lippie. These are dirt cheap, the bottles are so cute and the polishes are great quality - definately will repurchase!!!

Eyeliner -Rimmel - Exaggerate Waterproof Eye Definer - Noir
rated 3 of 5
makeupnoobie143 4/23/2013 4:12:00 AM

This is a nice black eyeliner although I still experience smudging with this, despite its waterproof claims. It defiantely smudges less than most eyeliners *cough cough Maybelline* and stays on my waterline for considerably longer than other brands. I wouldn't buy this again just because I don't like worrying about whether my eyeliner is smudged or not

Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - Color Icon Trio - I'm Getting Sunburned
rated 4 of 5
makeupnoobie143 4/23/2013 4:09:00 AM

I got this online from crushcosmetics.com.au and it cost $10 plus shipping, however this product is hard to get your hands on if your not from the US. The gold shade is simply INCREDIBLE, is has quite chunky glitter but it adds the most amazing effect on my brown eyes. It is also amazingly pigmented. The pink shade is definately cool toned and it works quite well as a highlight shade (do not use this as a browbone shade as recommended though!!), and when I use this on my lid I definately have to add some eyeliner to make sure I look alert and bright. Whenever I wear the pink or golden shade I get sooo many compliments! This trio is definately great for brown eyes :) The brown shade is actually very hard to blend which is annoying as it is very very very pigmented and it has horrible fall out. In saying that though, all three shades have fall out, so definately apply your foundation after eye makeup when using these eyeshadows.

Polishes -Sally Hansen - Hard As Nails Xtreme Wear in Bamboo Shoot
rated 3 of 5
makeupnoobie143 4/23/2013 4:02:00 AM

This nail polish is gorgeous light nude colour and has a very shiny finish. Bamboo shoot suits my skin tone nicely and cost me around AU$4 at chemist warehouse, but you can get it at priceline at roughly the same price. It retails for a couple more dollars, I believe. The let down for this polish is that it chips very easily (maybe after 2-3 days?) and the consistency turns gloopy very easily. This polish takes two coats to be opaque to get rid of the streaky finish of the first coat. I think i would buy this again because I adore the colour and it is very very cheap. If I could, I would give it 3.5 lippies

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Naked 2 Palette
rated 4 of 5
makeupnoobie143 4/23/2013 3:55:00 AM

I've never had the original Naked palette, but my friend owns one and the colours in that palette are definately more bronzy and dramatic (generally). In saying that, this palette has a very pigmented black colour (blackout) that I use to darken my outer corner or to set or to soften my eyeliner. On the other extreme of the palette, the colour foxy is yellow toned and blends into my skin.. it doesn't really serve well as a highlighter on me at least. Bootycall is more of a neutral peach colour and is a good highlighter, but it has a satain finish. My favourite colours in this palette are chopper which is a beautiful light shimmery coppery gold, snakebite which is a medium slightly shimmery brown and tease which is a light matte brown with almost purple undertones. Tease isn't very pigmented but I'm asian and since I don't have a defined crease, this shade is great to pop into my crease area without looking obnoxious. YDK (a shimmery, almost purple toned taupe champagne) and Pistol (satin grey) are also very nice colours. Half baked (a light golden shade) is great for an inner corner highlight but I find verve a bit too frosty for that purpose. However, verve (a frosty silver) is very good to put on the ball of my eye to bring it out. I don't really find myself reaching for Suspect (a light taupe shade) that much as it doesnt really show up well on my skin tone. Busted which is the second darkest shade (a dark brown with plum undertones), is a great alternative for blackout on days when i want my eyeshadow to be a bit more subtle. Would I repurchase? No because I wouldn't actually buy this for myself - I was given this as a gift for my birthday :)

Shampoo -Pantene - Shampoo and Conditioner
rated 3 of 5
makeupnoobie143 4/23/2013 3:41:00 AM

I've been using this since i was 10, on and off. It's a decent product, the smell is quite nice. But it seems to cause quite a bit of hair loss and apparently, it leaves residue in your hair that just makes it seem shiny rather than actually nourishing it - not sure if thats true. I would not buy this again only because I know that there are better products out there but i really like the scent and pantene does a decent job when i wash my hair :)

Mascara -Maybelline - Lash Stiletto Voluptuous
rated 3 of 5
makeupnoobie143 4/23/2013 3:33:00 AM

I've had this for three months now, and overall I feel a bit meh about this mascara. Pros: Lengthening Adds a slight curl due to brush Wet formula allows me to build more coats Can reach outer and inner corners easily Very cute packaging! Cons: Can get very spidery and clumpy You cannot layer coats once dry otherwise your lashes will stick together! Wet formula takes ages to dry so its a hassle in the mornings Not very versatile - you cant add more coats on for night time Brush is basically a gimick Not very consistent - sometimes this fans my lashes out beautifully, other times it clumps them Does not taper my lashes so that its thick at the base and slim at the tips Flakes and smudges on me (esp on lower lashes)

Lip Treatments -Neutrogena - Naturals Lip Balm
rated 4 of 5
makeupnoobie143 4/23/2013 3:19:00 AM

Okay I think I've just found my HG lip product! This is lovely, not waxy at all. I was worried at first because beeswax is the primary ingredient, but shea butter and other oils are added so this balm feels amazingly smooth to on my lips! I also am a huge fan of how the Neutrogena Naturals range does not test on animals, how the packaging is recycled and also how all the ingredients are au naturel :) Claim (from packaging): Vitamin E bionutrient balm nourishes and soothes. Protects with essential moisture. Dermatologist recommended brand. Price: I'm from Australia so our balms usually range from around $3.50 - $5. I got this for $3.99 on sale at Chemist Warehouse, but usually it retails at $4.99. Considering this products performance, the price is very decent. You get 4g of product, which is a little less than average but lets face it, who actually ever finishes their lip balms? Haha Scent: This smells of mint, peppermint? perhaps.. I quite like it but I do admit it took a few applications for nose which is addicted to sweet smelling balms to get used to it. The scent is only noticeable during application and quickly fades after a few minutes or so. Ingredients: Beeswax, Jojoba Seed Oil, Sesame Seed Oil, Sunflower Seed Oil, Olive Fruit Oil, Shea Butter, Natural Flavour, Cocoa Seed Butter and Tecopherol (which is sourced from vegetables) Packaging: The balm itself is encased in a semi-transparent, matte tube with very simple white, grey and green colours on it. On the packaging it states that this lip balm was made in Canada and that it has no harsh chemicals, sulfates, parabens, petrochemicals, dyes or phthalates. Staying power: I'd say that this has average staying power but after it does wear off, it definately leaves behind soft, beaufitul lips with no yucky residue at all! Plus application is a breeze so I don't mind reapplying every couple of hours. How does it compare to other brands? I have tried many other drugstore brands such as Nivea, Chapstick, Nude by Nature, Lip Smackers and cult product Lucas Paw Paw, and all these products leave a disguisting residue on my lips, and are not made from naturally derived products (even the lucas paw paw! it has active ingredients in it and petroleum jelly errrrgh). It also moisturises great and has a nice consistency on the lips; not too greasy or waxy. Final Verdict: I would definately buy this again!! Best lip balm ever, I'm taking one lippie off because it is a tad slimy and I also wish it had a sweeter scent, but other than those little things, I'm in love!
