Moisturizers -Cetaphil - Moisturizing Cream
makeup9111 5/18/2012 2:43:00 AM
Holy tub of cream batman! I'm not thrilled with the packaging, but for as much as you get, it's worth it. I bought this thinking I'd use it on my face, but when I saw how thick it was I slathered it on my 'ashy larry' legs instead. It's really moisturizing, and gentle, even the next day. I think I like the fact that it's unscented because now I can add my own fragrance oils or essential oils. This is heavy, so it's great for night time or right after the shower, but I wouldn't use it during the day, I'd slip and slide right out of my pants. I recommend it if you have dry, sensitive skin.

Moisturizers -Cetaphil - Moisturizing Lotion
makeup9111 5/18/2012 2:40:00 AM
I use this as a facial moisturizer, and it's doing it's job well. I have dry skin with rosacea that causes really rough dry patches on my cheeks, the Cetaphil doesn't irritate my skin and hasn't broken me out yet. I put it on at night, and would prefer something lighter during the day unless I'm going to be out in the cold or harsh weather. It doesn't smell, you get a ton of product, and it's really gentle, so thumbs up.

Lotions/ Creams -Shi Kai - Borage Dry Skin Therapy hand cream
makeup9111 4/19/2012 2:13:00 AM
This is an awesome hand cream. Because it has a lot of natural oils listed as moisturizers, I thought for sure it would take forever to sink in... not at all! It's super moisturizing, got my scratchy, flaky hands super soft and I didn't have to wrap my hands or hold them out in front of me and not touch anything, because it sinks in so quickly!

Misc Beauty Tools -Unlisted Brand - Salux Nylon Japanese Bath Towel

This product really does what it claims, that's why I gave it 5 stars. It will make mounds of lather- I love this, I used less than a quarter sized amount of my ridiculously expensive body wash, but the lather I got was more than enough, before this cloth I had literally used 1/2 a bottle for 1 shower because it wasn't lathering enough. It exfoliates- holy roughness, straight out of the package it's rough, but if you want to exfoliate legs, arms, back really easily and have wicked smooth skin, this is perfect! It's pretty cheap- I got mine on Amazon.com for like $5, and it was totally worth it, I'll never buy a "regular" poof or exfoliating cloth again, this is industrial strength!

Treatments -OPI - Avoplex Exfoliating Cuticle Treatment
makeup9111 5/2/2011 11:38:00 PM
I have dry, cracked, flaky, mannish cuticles, the only thing that has worked to keep them looking nice was a glycolic acid cuticle cream, but that was discontinued. I bought this because of the reviews, and after a few days of consistent use (sometimes I used it twice a day) my cuticles look smooth and moisturized. It's easy to apply, you get a lot for the price, and it sinks in really quickly. I will definitely be repurchasing.

Gels/Soaps -Dove - Beauty Bar
makeup9111 4/25/2011 3:20:00 AM
It's makes lots of creamy lather, it smells so good, and it's relatively moisturizing for a bar soap- I'm hooked! I use this all over in the shower, it's great to shave with, and I think I'm going to try it with my Clarisonic face brush next! I wish there was a lotion that smelled just like the soap, I would buy stock in the company!

Hair Removal -Unlisted Brand - Bikini Zone Shaving Gel
makeup9111 4/24/2011 1:25:00 AM
I don't care what any label says, the only thing that will prevent or reduce ingrown hairs and bumps is exfoliation! I love this as a shaving gel, I shave 'Brazilian' style and this gel lets me see what I'm doing, and I can make a couple of good passes without risking irritation or nicks. I don't care what any label says, the only thing that will prevent or reduce ingrown hairs and bumps is exfoliation! So I exfoliate in the shower before I shave and everyday after I shave, and I'm smooth as the day I was born without having to put my lady business in a stranger's face.

Lotions/ Creams -Palmers - Cocoa Butter Formula Moisturizing Body Oil
makeup9111 4/22/2011 4:46:00 AM
I really like this, it's very moisturizing especially when applied to damp skin, and has Palmer's signature cocoa scent. I was worried about the smell at first, because I'm not a sweet scent lover, but it fades pretty quickly and it's grown on me. I put this on my legs, stomach, hips and sometimes my chest right after I shower. Then after it sinks in a little I layer the matching lotion all over my body. I'm soft as a baby and smell super good. Yes the bottle will leak and get slippery, I transfer the oil to a travel spritz top bottle from Target. It's heavier than Neutrogena's body oil, but doesn't have any mineral oil and is much cheaper with more nourishing ingredients, thumbs up!

Lotions/ Creams -Palmers - Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula
makeup9111 4/14/2011 5:46:00 PM
This seems like it is going to be really thick, but once it hits your skin it's very easy to spread and goes a long way. It sinks in fast, doesn't leave me greasy, and even though I don't want to smell like a chocolate bar- the scent goes away once the product absorbs. Con- it didn't pass the 2nd day scratch test, lightly scratch your arm or leg with a fingernail and see if there's a white line (indicates dryness) left behind. Overall- I'll keep using this, I'm going to try layering the lotion over the Palmer's oil to see if that helps, plus strippers swear by this stuff and they have to be smooth and soft to pay rent!

Skincare - Face -Makeup Artist's Choice (MUAC) - 8% BHA Serum
makeup9111 10/8/2010 12:31:00 AM
UPDATE: OMG, they aren't lying when they tell you to give the product about a month to see real results. This was working great, but I still was having little breakouts, THEN I hit that month mark of consistent use, and holy-freaking-A I woke up with crystal clear skin. I'm hooked! I started on the BHA Serum and Mandelic Acid peel for my wedding in November, and now, I'll barely have to wear a tinted moisturizer! Holy Freaking Grail! I love this, I was scared to leave it on my face all night like some other users, so for the first time I left it on my neck all night long on some very stubborn breakouts (not sexy) and I followed the rinse off after x-number of minutes directions for my face. It seriously deep cleaned and reduced what had broken out on my face and neck, yet with continued use it didn't create an acne monster like I thought, with the purging of crap. Now I leave this on breakouts and my nose overnight about 3-4x a week, my mom commented on how smooth and clear my skin has become, and I'm thrilled. There is a little flaking with how aggressively I was using it, but I exfoliated with my Clarisonic and had new, clear glowing skin underneath. Buy this!

Toners -Garden of Wisdom - Basil Leaf Hydrosol
makeup9111 10/7/2010 4:04:00 AM
Overall: I think this does what it claims, it's calming, doesn't cause breakouts and seems to help reduce acne, plus I use it where I have rosacea and it seems to calm that down a little too. Pros: Simplicity, effectiveness, gentleness Cons: Price, it was more than some of their other hydrosols for just an ounce, packaging is simple, I don't like the mister because I use my toners with cotton pads

Treatments -Garden of Wisdom - Rosacea Serum
makeup9111 10/7/2010 3:58:00 AM
This is magic! My mother and all of my aunts have rosacea, and I started to notice it appearing on the apples of my cheeks closest to my nose, nothing would get rid of it. I looked like I was blushing all the time, and I'm mixed so that's saying a lot. I hoped to reduce the redness in time for my wedding, but I wasn't expecting these results! This did! It took down the redness, got rid of the bumps, and smoothed everything out. Amazing. Pros: Dropper top packaging, natural ingredients that I can pronounce, works quickly, doesn't leave a film on skin, I could go on and on... Cons: Non that I'm aware of, this works for me everytime I use it Before spending lots of $$ on other rosacea treatments, try this first!

Cleansers -Garden of Wisdom - Simply Clean Tea Tree Oil Cleanser
makeup9111 10/7/2010 3:52:00 AM
Overall: I like this cleanser, it's thick and creamy, doesn't foam, deep cleans and doesn't leave my dry skin feeling tight. Pros: Packaging is simple, I know I'm paying for the product and not the name. It's gentle but really works on acne. Cons: The smell, this isn't a huge con for me, it smells like real tea tree oil which isn't too pleasant but wouldn't stop me from using it. My extremely allergic reaction prone fiance can use this with no problem, he has very oily skin with lots of cystic acne and this seems to calm his face down Two thumbs up!

Styling Products -Unlisted Brand - Motions Foaming Wrap Lotion
makeup9111 4/12/2010 10:14:00 PM
I bought this after reading that it was great for curl definition in People StyleWatch. I'm mixed and have very curly hair and have tried everything for curl definition. This rocks beyond belief. I put a generous amount in my very damp hair, then brushed it through which made my curls to something I have never seen, they spiraled into perfect, springy defined ringlets, and the definition stayed without crunch! I bet this would be awesome for straightening hair as well, I'll never use another tradition curl gel.

Concealers -Everyday Minerals - Peach [DISCONTINUED]
makeup9111 4/18/2008 12:32:00 AM
OMG Holy Grail!!! My entire life I've been using yellow concealers to almost cover up my football player dark circles, there was still something to be desired after every brand I tried, until I found Bare Minerals... which I had to put so much on that my undereyes looked dark and reverse racoon like, BUT my circles were covered for the 1st time. I just stumbled upon a clip from Eve Pearl (google her) who says you should use salmon colored concealer for your dark circles, BE doesn't have anything that color, and the EM Peach concealer was the closest I could get to salmon, it even looked too light online, but I ordered it anyway... MIRACLE FOR DARK CIRCLES!!! And the first time I used it I put it on with my fingers and it blended seamlessly! I am medium toned with strong yellow undertones and this works like a dream, Latin ladies or Asian ladies with dark circles look into this, it will save your eyes and your wallet!
