Eyeliner -Physicians Formula - Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Eyeliner Trio For Hazel Eyes
maitai215 7/29/2012 12:04:00 AM
I got the one for green eyes. (but i have brown eyes!) I found them randomly at Ross for $4 (I think they retail for $10?) so it was a great deal for a mini trio of 3 gel eyeliners (in green, purple, and black) I use the black the most. It does have a nice soft consistency that makes it so easy to apply. I use it with my Sonia Kashuk bent eyeliner brush and it goes on quick and smooth for daily application. It lasts all day too (but I only apply to the top lid, everything runs on the bottom lid with me) The black appears to have sparkles in the pan but applied on lid, it's a matte black which is great for work. I find the purple and green too light to use as liner but a good primer for powder shadow on the lid. I haven't really gotten much use out of it though. I like the square containers, and I find it convenient that I can take the trio apart, as when I travel I just take the black one with me.

Eye Makeup Remover -Neutrogena - Oil Free eye makeup remover
maitai215 11/20/2011 6:09:00 PM
I rarely use eye makeup remover because my oil cleansing method is enough for daily eye makeup. But if I wear strong smoky eyes for a night out, then I have to bust out the eyemakeup remover to get off all the residual. This product is great! You get a lot of bang for your buck (I think I paid $8 at the drugstore) and I've had it for more than 6months and there's still 4/5 of the bottle left. I think it's cool how there's two layers (oil and hydro) in it which you shake up so the oils are emulsified and can do it's magic. One swipe and all the fibers from my Fiberwig mascara comes off too

Shampoo -Jason Natural Cosmetics - Natural Sea Kelp Shampoo
maitai215 8/13/2011 4:47:00 PM
This was gifted to me, so being the frugalista I am, I used it. The things I like about it: sulfate free, cruelty free, leaves my hair without frizz and smooth and it didn't dry my hair out like some other SH do. The things I didn't like about it: it felt like it left a layer of coating on my scalp and my hair felt heavier than normal and not as light. I don't like this layer/coating effect so I won't be rebuying.

Moisturizers -Makeup Artist's Choice (MUAC) - Argan Oil
maitai215 8/13/2011 4:31:00 PM
I got this after reading good things about pure argan oil for hair+skin. I have oily prone/combo skin that now with age is becoming dry in some patches. Troublesome! I would get dry skin with zits, yuck! So I tried to avoid exacerbating my dryness and avoid benzo peroxide and apply argan oil to inflamed spots. I use only one drop on each side of my face (the bottle will last forever at this rate) and then massage into my face. I only do this at night because it's too oily for day time for me, but in the morning I wake up looking fresh and my skin is baby bottom soft. I love it! I then just cold water rinse my face (I don't wash in AM to avoid drying out my skin more) and go about my regular AM skin routine. I love this! Will keep rebuying.

Lipstick -Wet 'n' Wild - 511B Nouveau Pink
maitai215 6/16/2011 1:28:00 AM
For the sale price of 54 cents why wouldn't I buy this? I rarely wear lippies but wanted to try the bright lip trend w/o breaking bank so this was just the ticket. Love it, I wore it for dinner right after I got it and through 2 hrs of gabbing and drinks and dinner I still had a bright lip in my after dinner photos. I don't notice the dryness but I do already layer chapstick under whatever I wear. I like a bit more shine and gloss as I tend to be a lipgloss girl but I can easily correct it with a layer of clear gloss on top if I want. Love it! Now I have to get more WnW lippies

Tinted Moisturizer -Wet 'n' Wild - Ultimate Sheer Tinted Moisturizer--Sunkissed
maitai215 5/24/2011 2:15:00 AM
Great product for the price. I got it >2 yrs ago and I rarely reach for liquid and it's kept so well (in cool dry box) Since I started using it again (in a hopeless effort for a use up!) I have rediscovered love for it. My skin is kept dry and matte with my primer underneath. The color looks a bit dark at first but I use 1-2 drops all over the face so it sheers out nicely. With loose powder on top, I don't get oily all day! I like the squeeze tube and since it's semi sheer, you can see how much you have left (I still have 1/2 container left) The only concern is that the top twist off cap actually cracked so now it's a bit harder to unscrew the cap off. But for $3, who can complain?

Lip Gloss -Becca - Glossy Lip Tint in "Maraschino"
maitai215 12/21/2009 11:36:00 PM
I got this as part of a set when becca had a huge sale at sephora or else I would not comment. The price indicator above is for the retail price (which is too rich for my taste!) The color os gorgeous in the tube, and when applied, it's MLBB. My lips get a soft natural sheen that's not to OTT for work. I pair it with a neutral eye, black eyeliner, and a light plum or pink blush for a cool winter face. I don't wear it too much in the summer when I like bronzy or nude lips. This color is much richer to look at than to wear, I will use up this tube and not repurchase solely because the color doesn't show up too much. The texture like all the Becca glosses are lovely, not too sticky or thick, but substantial enough to feel like it's "present"

Eye Shadow -NYX - Trio TS 14--Highlight/ Brown/ Suede
maitai215 12/21/2009 11:32:00 PM
I got this at a cherryculture sale so I only paid $5 for this trio so I can't complain too much. I have plenty of other NYX trios and this one is meh. The color payoff as other reviewers have indicated is only so-so but I only use this trio for work, so the matte and subtle colors is fine. I find that the highlight color is basically the same color as my lid, so it's as if I'm not wearing anything! For some people w/lid discolorations, this could be a "my lid but better" (note, I am golden medium in EDM ftd for reference) Anyways, I agree with other reviewers that the Suede is not dark enough for the crease, so I find that I may use another color or smudge my eyeliner to get more depth. I keep this in my emergency work stash so I always have something and this is a basic palette that I don't miss at home. I will use it up (along with my zillion other palettes) but will not repurchase.

Lip Gloss -Revlon - Super Lustrous Pearl Plum
maitai215 9/4/2009 10:41:00 PM
I like this color but it's a tad too dark for a daytime daily work wear. So this gets limited use as I rarely go out. And given the darkness, I find that I can only limit it to when I wear a more neutral eye and cheek. So that really limits to how often I wear it. I find that it leans towards cool so I look better in it in the winter when my tan fades.

Lip Gloss -Revlon - Super Lustrous - Gold Bling
maitai215 9/4/2009 10:38:00 PM
I got this at Big Lots like many of my Revlon SL l/g and love this! I layer this on top of a colored gloss or a matte lipstick and it gives the most beautiful sheen. I especially love that I can see all the microglitter on my lips. And when I kiss the boy the microglitter is on his face! LOL. I think this maybe OTT for day but it's great for going out when you want to pump up the lips. Since it's so shimmery it definitely enhances the size of your puckers! Since I foudn it for $2, it was totally worth it. It doesn't add a lot of color but since I have pigmented lips it's not a big deal. It just adds a lot of shine and shimmer. It does seem to wear off rather quickly (maybe 3-4 hrs) but I find that to be true for many of the SL l/g.

Moisturizers -Clinique - Moisture Surge Face Spray
maitai215 9/4/2009 9:57:00 PM
i got 2 free samples of this and in the hot humid summer i stash them in my fridge and use them as refreshing sprays during the day. a delight. i think it's watery and would not use it as a sole moisturizer but as a refresher during the hot days it's great! (I also own Fix+ but i think this one is better and doesn't make me greasy)

Moisturizers -Clinique - Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief
maitai215 7/26/2009 2:42:00 PM
I have repurchased this product several times already in the last year that I've been using it. It sure goes fast (even the big 1.7 oz size) I first got it at a CCO cuz my friend used it and she told me it was good. I have oily skin but sometimes I need to layer a moisturizer cuz I'm using zit cream. So now I use this nightly on dry spots and every morning before my makeup to make sure my mmu ftd goes on smoothly (i layer the moisturizer, then sunscreen, then the m/u) It wears so smooth, absorbs quickly and has no smell. I love the gel consistency. The only thing I wish was that it was a tad cheaper, and that it didn't come in a jar b/c I don't find it as sanitary (i always rinse my hands and use my finger pads to dip into the top of the jar, and if there's stuff on the lid then I'll use that first) Will definitely be buying more (luckily I have several stocked up from CCO and discount places)

Eyeliner -Hourglass - Water Proof Liquid Liner Pen - EBONY
maitai215 6/21/2009 9:16:00 PM
I love the elegant pen shape with metallic coating, the smooth fiber applicator tip and the easy fluidity of the super dark dark black color that is fade and crease proof. Perfect for a subtle cat eye for day, or thickening for a night time look (I do both) I can even tightline in my eyelashes w/this cuz the pen tip is so thin! Love it. Luckily it I got it for cheap from an online sale cuz I would never pay the retail price for an eyeliner! That would be the only thing prohibiting me from buying again.

Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - Lustrous Neutrals Palette
maitai215 6/21/2009 9:13:00 PM
I got this as BOGOF from WnW at a drugstore so I think I only paid $2.50 for this palette which is a great deal! I think for that value it's worth keeping for the variety of colors that you can layer for a day or night eye. I like the dark colors in the center for a variety of smokey eyes (I tend to use dark in the crease) and have my own preferred highlight shades from other palettes (ie Stila Blanc or Lorac Pink Python) If I were to travel though, I think this would be versatile for a day or night look, although I am not a fan of the clunky ugly clear plastic which is why I don't like to travel w/WnW. Plus I've heard they are break prone. I don't use the cheap sponges included or the tiny mirrors that pull out. I wish WnW would redesign the pkg!

Cleansers -Noxzema - Original Skin Cream
maitai215 6/21/2009 9:09:00 PM
It was super cheap for a large volume that I can use for a long time. I like the fresh minty cooling effect although I wonder if it is too drying for me. But I think it does a good job cleaning if I don't have a lot of m/u on. I usually use this as a cream wash after an cleansing oil. I dislike the unhygenic pot form. I may repurchase if I see it on sale at Ulta (like I have for 2.99) so great deal for the volume and if you just need a basic cleanser w/o special effects.
