Okay, I love this scent, but yes, it DOES smell like a sexy men's scent on me. That said, I would buy it for my man to wear. It's fantastic.

Just putting my two cents' worth in to say Dawn's fragrances are very high quality and I love many of them. Obviously not all of them are winners, but she is on par with the more famous fragrance houses. She also has a terrific sample program, including free samples with significant orders.

Overly sweet, powdery and soapy for me. Improves upon drydown, but I get no myrrh at all. Unless myrrh smells like soap. ;~)

Eye Shadow -Maybelline - Cool Effect Eye Color
rated 5 of 5

My review is for the creme shadow that comes in the little tubes. I have this in Cool Cat and Cool Beans. They are beautiful, shimmery colors that go on smoothly and really do feel cool. I was wearing Cool Cat (warm peachy pink) and was complimented by a high end makeup artist. I'm sorry to hear these have been discontinued!

Fragrances -Floris of London - Seringa

I'm afraid this scent isn't for me, although it does improve a bit on dry down. The top note is very, very sharp, and the whole fragrance is too soapy and powdery. These are notes I've never cared for in scents.

Fragrances -Fresh - Lemon Sugar
rated 1 of 5

Godawful. Really. Smells nothing like sugar, and the closest it smells like lemon is if you varnished a lemon, left it for 25 years, chipped off the varnish and bottled *that*. If you want a lemon fragrance, there are all sorts of others out there, all for a variety of price points. Please leave this one alone and help make the world a better place.

Fragrances -Prada - Prada Beauty Eau de Parfum
rated 5 of 5

I can't believe I haven't written a review for this yet! Prada is a Holy Grail (or HG) perfume for me. It's warm, slightly spicy, comforting, cozy...the minute the cold weather comes I spritz it on. It's also the fragrance I wear when I can't think of what to wear. My teenage niece gave me a hug when I was wearing this and she said, "Oh, you smell good!" I can't imagine ever getting tired of this; I would buy it again and again!

Fragrances -Narciso Rodriguez - Narciso Rodriguez for her

Many of my fragrance friends have raved about this, so I've been wanting to try it for a long time. I am sorry to say that it is Not All That. It reminds me a bit of Stella, although rose is not listed as one of the notes. It's not a bad fragrance, per se, I just don't get what all the fuss is about.

I love this heady floral, especially on hot, sultry summer days! It makes me want to run out and buy a muu-muu and put a flower in my hair. They say it has incense in it, but it must be a very small amount because I can't detect it.

Fragrances -Stella McCartney - Stella- Eau de Parfum

Pretty citrus-rose scent, great for warmer weather. For some reason, I can't detect the amber in it, and I love amber, so it can't be too strong of a note. This is a less expensive interpretation of Rosine's Un Zest de Rose, in case your budget is strict!

Fragrances -Thierry Mugler - Angel
rated 4 of 5

The trick to wearing this fragrance is to not spritz with reckless abandon. Angel should be dabbed on discreetly, and then it's a gorgeous, warm and comforting gourmand fragrance.

Fragrances -Annick Goutal - eau d'Hadrien
rated 2 of 5
mahgwet 5/29/2005 5:28:00 PM

This was *supposed* to be my favorite Annick Goutal, as it was the first one I spritzed on that I actually *liked*. It goes on as a lovely, not-too-sweet lemon. Sorry to say, that's where the story ends. After what seems to be a notably short time, it dries down to what I would compare to that sugary powdered lemonade drink mix from the supermarket. No depth, no interest. Come to think of it, perhaps this is what Fresh Lemon Sugar should smell like instead of that godawful... Oh, but I should save that for another review.

Wow! This really *does* smell like Eternity! Not at first spritz, but when it dries down, there it is! Yikes.

Sunscreen -La Roche Posay - Anthelios XL ,SPF 60+
rated 1 of 5

This product was recommended to me on the skincare board. I'm sorry I bought it. I've used at least half of it, so I think I gave it a fair shot. First of all, this product is way too greasy. It makes my skin oily and sticky for the entire day. I'm 43, so that's saying a lot! Second, I do not feel this gave me good sun protection, as my age spots have gotten darker and more numerous. My skin actually looks *worse* since I've started using this product! Third, it's expensive. I'm going back to my Neutrogena products. They do an excellent job, cost a lot less, and I can pick them up at the drugstore instead of ordering them online and paying more $$$ for shipping.

Fragrances -Hermes - Ambre Narguile (Hermesessence series)
rated 5 of 5
mahgwet 11/2/2004 10:18:00 AM

Wonderful, wonderful scent for autumn and winter! Exotic, woodsy beginning, then a yummy spice note emerges (cinnamon, perhaps?) then a warm and comforting drydown reminding me of amber and vanilla. This is akin to sipping a cup of chai latte by a wood fire. So cozy!
