Lip Treatments -Nivea - A Kiss of Moisture

Since the Nivea cream is very thick and moisturizing, I thought this would be really great. Not so much. While this goes on smoothly, doesn't pull or drag much on the lip like some waxy sticks can, it doesn't last very long. It is, however, a decent base to put lipstick on over. It also gets some points for being in a tube (for hygenic reasons) having a very light scent, and not having a taste. If you want something light that isn't sticky or doesn't taste like it's loaded with sweeteners, this is a nice choice. I tend to want/need something that's more moisturizing.

Lip Treatments -Smith's Rosebud Salve - Smith's Rosebud Salve
lynnmats 10/30/2011 9:46:00 PM
I bought this product because I've seen in it in several places, including Sephora and other beauty product stores. I mistakenly thought that since lots of places carry the item, it must be good. It really isn't that great. I agree with other reviewers that it smells like a baby product and is pretty much just a petroleum jelly like Vaseline. I would rather use and recommend Aquaphor, which now comes in a small tube that you can fit in your pocket.

Misc Beauty Tools -Unlisted Brand - Zeno

I hoped this product would really help my adult acne. It did seem to speed up the process of eruption and healing on some of my deeper cyst-like acne bumps, but overall...it's time consuming to stand there with the head in contact with the acne spot for the 2.5 minutes for so little in the way of results. I got this before it really became available in drug stores. I was glad when the replacement heads became more readily available, but I rarely use it because it's only good for certain types of pimples.

Lip Treatments -Josie Maran Cosmetics - Argan Lip Treatment
lynnmats 10/12/2011 1:12:00 AM
I bought this product when argan oil and the Josie Maran line was becoming popular at Sephora. The pot that it comes in is cute, but not all that functional because if you aren't careful with how you put the lid on, you can mush it into the product. I agree with other reviewers in that it smells nice and feels nice for a while. There is a good slip to the lips after I apply but it seems to wear off quickly, without leaving much moisture behind. I am constantly searching for a great lip product, so I understand if you have to try this, but I'd say...save your money.

Mascara -Maybelline - Lash Discovery Mascara
lynnmats 10/12/2011 1:04:00 AM
I have used Lash Discovery Waterproof formula for years now and would definitely recommend it. The thin, compact brush gets the hard-to-reach small lashes and the formulation isn't goopey, clumpy, and stays soft and flexible on the lashes. Even when I want to use a more defining mascara on top of it, this is a must-use base for me as it gets all the lashes and holds the curl. I am sad to say that I believe it has been discontinued. This has been pulled out of my local CVS and when I went on the Maybelline site a few weeks ago, it said this product line was discontinued. However, there may be hope! I just checked the Maybelline site again and at least it no longer lists the Lash Discovery as discontinued just "out of stock". Here's to hoping this continues to be around as my go-to mascara.
