Primer/ Corrector -Illamasqua - Satin Primer SPF 20
luxuria 4/28/2012 7:49:00 AM
Wow. I hardly say this, but this product blew me away. I was a little hesitant to use it because of my normal/combination skin, and I was worried it'd make me look greasy. I've used it under foundation, bb cream, msfn and on it's own, and it's done a stellar job every time. It gives me dewy skin, helps blush show up and stay on much better and hasn't irritated my very sensitive skin nor caused any breakouts. The scent is beautiful but dissipates quickly, and the SPF is a bonus, especially good for when I'll be indoors all day and don't feel like wearing an additional layer of SPF. All in all, an amazing product and I will definitely purchase again.

Eyeliner -MAC - Fluidline Eye-Liner Gel in Blacktrack
luxuria 2/7/2012 7:25:00 PM
Blacktrack has been my staple eyeliner for 5 years now. I use it for everything - lining, tightlining and lining my waterline. It is an intense stark back that doesn't budge or smudge on my lids even when exposed to tears, sweat or rain. However, I do experience some (very minimal) smudging when it is used on my waterline. It is, however, very easily removed with evoo and a qtip. I've used both BB and MAC's gel liners and find that fluidlines tend to be thicker and creamier in consistency, which I prefer. Of course, if for some reason you prefer a less harsh line, you could always clean some product off your brush before application or smudge it out slightly. When you first open the jar, the product you get is creamy and glides on like a dream. I remember my first jar drying out, and being all dry and stupid. I've found that this can be rectified by always closing the jar while you're applying your eyeliner. In other words, get some product on your brush, close the lid while applying, then open it again when you need more product. This is a little troublesome, but I find that it helps to extend the fluidline's lifespan.

Makeup Brushes -MAC - 263 Small Angle (Ox & Synthetic hair)
luxuria 2/6/2012 7:47:00 AM
This brush and gel e/ls are a match made in heaven. I initially bought the 266, but found that way too scratchy. I've been using gel e/l for ages, but this brush changes everything. The 263 is soft yet firm, making e/l application a breeze. The result is a precise line in one swipe. It is also perfect for winged e/l and firm enough for tightlining. This brush is love.

I have extremely sensitive skin that freaks out regularly. The last episode left my skin with angry red and dry blotches. This serum was my savior. I applied it over my entire face, concentrating on the inflamed areas, and my skin went back to normal within 24 hours. Emergencies aside, when I apply it before moisturizer, my skin becomes incredibly soft and smooth, so much so that I usually skip foundation. I love the pump (no more dipping fingers into pots), but that means the last bits of product are really hard to scrape out. It is pretty pricey, but for what it does for me, I'll happily hand over my money. I am just finishing my 4th bottle, and about to head out to grab another.

Polishes -China Glaze - Goddess
luxuria 1/26/2012 3:53:00 AM
Gorgeous in the bottle, a clear base with tiny gold flecks and chockfull of gold and silver glitter pieces. However, this did not translate onto the nail. One coat deposited a smattering of glitter, and after four coats, there were still bald spots on my nail. Would be lovely as a top coat over golds and champagne polishes, but way too much effort to be used as a glitter polish alone. Edit: after two days, the tips started chipping and wearing off, and the edges of the glitter pieces were getting caught in fabrics. Removal with the foil method is definitely the easiest. Never using this on its own as a glitter polish again.

Moisturizers -Unlisted Brand - Extra Virgin Olive Oil
luxuria 1/7/2012 11:57:00 PM
Truly multipurpose. Works just as well as HE brands to remove stubborn eye make up at only a fraction of the cost. I also use this as tanning oil, cuticle oil, eyelash conditioner, hair treatment, as well as the first step in cleaning my make up brushes. Decanting the oil into smaller containers for specific usages helps to keep spills and mess to a minimum.

Lip Treatments -Korres - Lip Butter - Wild Rose
luxuria 1/5/2012 4:45:00 AM
The product itself is really nice. As it is dense and waxy, When I pat it on gently with my middle finger, it leaves my lips soft with a matte finish, and imparts a really pretty just-bitten hue. Perfect on it's own for casual days. It is also really cheap compared to most lip balms I've tried. Huge downside to it is the packaging, I can't even begin. It comes in a white opaque plastic tub which 1) means I have to sanitize my hands before application, and 2) displays every glaring smudge of the product on the rim, and this drives me crazy. The circumference of the tub is really small compared to it's depth, and I'm thinking it will be really hard to get to the last bits of product without getting any under my nails, even though I keep them filed short. I suppose I could use a spatula or a q-tip, but that will be such a pain in the.

Moisturizers -Biotherm - Aquasource Non Stop (combination skin)
luxuria 12/7/2011 3:05:00 AM
I've been using this moisturizer for ages, and while I've changed every other aspect of my regime since then, this baby's been a constant in my life. It is very light and quickly absorbed (very important in Singapore's weather!), and leaves my skin feeling velvety smooth. I really like that the glass jar is made of 40% recycled glass, but at the end of it, it is still a jar and I don't like dipping my fingers into a pot of product, so one point off for packaging. All in all, I love this, and I don't think I'll veer away from this stuff, at least not in the foreseeable future.

Moisturizers -Kiehls - Panthenol Protein Moisturizing Face Cream
luxuria 12/6/2011 5:50:00 AM
I initially bought this as my skin got really dry in the Australian winter. Since moving back to Singapore, this cream's been a little too thick for the climate change. I was hesitant to use it because I have really sensitive skin that is prone to clogging and breaking out. However, I have found that using just a dab and spreading it really thin at night does the trick nicely, and I wake up with really soft skin. The product comes in a really basic white plastic tub that doesn't really bother me, except that it leaked a little during the flight. Price wise, it's very affordable, and a huge plus for me is that to my knowledge, Kiehls is an animal friendly brand (hope this is still the case!).

Highlighters -MAC - Barbie - Pearl Sunshine
luxuria 1/6/2010 11:54:00 PM
I don't know why I haven't written a review for this earlier since I use it (and love it) so much. It's more finely milled than the MSFs and gives a more subtle glow which doesn't look too OTT even for the day, whereas some MSFs turn into a glitter bomb on me. I apply this with the MAC 129, and it goes on beautifully. Gorgeous with MAC Peaches and NARS Orgasm. Definitely a keeper, definitely a repurchase.

I like this so much more than dandelion. Brightens up my NC40 skin and shows up as a subtle blush as well. Very slight hint of peachy glow.

GGG/NC35 with yellow undertones. Granted it's a decent setting powder for tinted moisturizer, but upon more swipes as a blusher, this powder made me look really sick. I had people asking why I looked so pale and lifeless. Enough said. Won't be repurchasing.

Gels/Soaps -The Body Shop - Cranberry Shower Gel
luxuria 12/28/2005 2:35:00 AM
This has to be by far the most divine smelling body gel I've ever used. Thing is, I find this slightly more drying than the other TBS shower gels I've used before. I probably won't be stocking up on this one.

Lip Gloss -Lancome - Lancome Juicy Tubes - Cerise

I find this way too sticky and not pigmented at all. Only thing it gives me is high-shine with flecks of glitter. Lovely smell though. Works best for me as a clear gloss. Too expensive to work as a clear gloss. Will not repurchase.

Lip Gloss -MAC - Lipglass Tasti in Tastease
luxuria 12/26/2005 12:56:00 AM
Good for a nude lip look. Love the scent and taste. Doesn't taste like tiramisu as claimed, but the sugary taste is something else. Slightly frosty nude on me. Don't like the packaging though.
