Treatments -Beyond Belief - Vita C Antioxidant Serum
lupfruit28 2/20/2012 11:38:00 PM
I started using this product because I read about the benefits of vitamin c for the skin. I started searching for a product and this brand was what I was looking for: had great reviews and was not very expensive to try. I was reluctant to buy something on the high-end range because in my country return policies for beauty products are poor, and you can only get samples of a product almost exclusively after purchasing something at any given counter. So If my skin did not like the product I was not going to end up bankrupt and angry. After 2 weeks of use I noticed my skin cleared from the acne break out I was experiencing, the morning redness had reduced significantly and just felt way more hydrated. I am really happy with this product! I use it immediately after cleaning my face (while still damp), wait for it to get absorbed and then I apply my moisturizer. Morning and night. I took of a lippie because the pump is kind of stiff. It sends the product flying across the room!! I usually use only half a pump, that is more than enough for me.
Primer/ Corrector -Cover Girl - Simply Ageless Corrector

I gave this corrector 5 lippies since I think it is a great product for a drugstore brand. I have deep under eye circles that tend to go purplish blue whenever I have allergies. So I have been going through different concealers and different brands, until one day I found Bobbi Brown's corrector and kept using it for almost 3 years now. Two weeks ago I realized I was running out of corrector and later that day went to shop for groceries and saw Covergirl's products. Of course the corrector caught my eye, but I came back home empty-handed. I usually come to my trusted source of information makeup wise and found out the great reviews so I thought I'd give it a try. For my surprise, the color suited me extremely well (I am BB's light bisque for corrector, and beige for both concealer and foundation). What I like about it the most is that it does not crease at all!! whereas Bobbi's corrector does (and I tried it all: setting it with loose powder, putting a different eye cream, wearing tfsi primer, etc). For someone with dry skin might be better to try using a rich cream under this first. The price is, I believe, one third of Bobbi's and the amount of product you get is .3 oz vs. .06 oz. We cannot compare the packaging to a high end brand, since the latter is all about being pretty and sturdy. I think one should be careful specially with the purple lid, for if you close it too tight it might break. I have not been photographed yet wearing this corrector, but I have been testing it for one week now and I just cannot find anything wrong about its performance! Yes, it only comes in one yellowish color, but as a corrector it is supposed to work as a base for the concealer. My verdict: an awesome product that I plan to keep using.
Lately I have been in a Lavender mood. Lavender e/s, l/g... so I wanted to get a lipgloss with lavender and pink glitter and this is actually the closest match. The lavender color of the gloss does not show on my lips, it looks like regular gloss, but it leaves lots of glitter behind... and is not large and chunky, but nice and shimmery! The glitter colors are white, lavender, pink and baby blue, being white the dominant one. I like the tingly feeling when I put it on, but I find the scent to be very strong. I will not buy again, but I will enjoy it 'till the last drop.
Moisturizers -Neutrogena - Anti-Oxidant Age Reverse SPF 20

I like this product. I was hesitant when I first put some product in my palm, since it has the consistency of plain sunscreen. The smell is also like sunscreen, but it is not unpleasant and fades after 5 mins. I think this could be a great option for summer time, but not for winter, since is not very moisturizing. However, it keeps my combo sking feeling comfortable during the day and surprisingly doesn't make me go all shiny!! It didn't break me nor clogged my pores... I would like this product more if it offered more moisture.
Originally I wanted to get Chanel's Velvet, but the new collection had not arrived yet to my nearest counter, so I stumbled across FP Black Gumdrop. It was love at first sight! it looked amazing both in artificial and sunlight... It has a black base, but with tons of ruby, purple and blue micro glitter, ruby being the dominant of the three. A week later I found velvet at the Chanel counter and could not resist trying it. Then I arrived home and started comparing the two products. Velvet is definitely purple based and the glitter that dominates is actually the blue one. In natural light, they both look purple, but in the shade, Velvet is purple-ish, while Black Gumdrop is just black. I had them both for over 5 days now and what impressed me the most is that FP looks shinier than Chanel, which looks opaque, next to FP. So Finger Paints gets all the points for being black with a twist, having great quality and for being shinier than my original crave!!
Eyeliner -Bobbi Brown - longwear gel liner in black mauve
lupfruit28 12/20/2008 11:15:00 PM
This is my first experience with gel liners ever. I went and tried both black and black mauve, and found the latter to compliment my brown eyes better. Black was just to harsh on me and wanted an everyday color. Yes, although it is shimmery, you can wear it to go towork or school. On me, it looks deep mauve, almost plum... The consistency is interesting! is not a gel, mine is more like a powdery cream. I pat my eyeliner brush on the product instead of swirling it on it, and find this tecnique to be more effective when it comes to pick up the color. I am not an expert when it comes to gel liners, but so far it hasn't been difficult for me to use this product. My only issue with this product is the lasting power. Somedays it lasts longer than others, depending on the e/s's brand that I am wearing. I don't know if I will purchase this particular shade again, but I surely will give the others a try.
Blush -Bobbi Brown - Pink Raspberry Pot Rouge ] [DISCONTINUED]
lupfruit28 12/20/2008 10:50:00 PM
This is my first BB Pot Rouge. I usually go to the counter and try the products I never used, before purchasing, or ask for a sample so I can see how my skin reacts to it... and well.. in the case of e/s, foundation or blushes, I like checking the colors on natural light. Yes I perform quite a ritual when it comes to makeup, (weird I know) but I rather to do this than having to return things... Anyway... I stopped by the counter before going to a Bon Jovi's concert and had the chance to try this Pot Rouge (had not been released yet in Japan, so I had to wait) and I was really pleased! I jumped a lot, and sweat and was not expecting to see any trace of this blush left afterwards... I was wrong... !! needles to say I bought it right away. The color is gorgeous, very natural. Only a small amount is needed to get a nice pop of color. No serious blending skills required for this! I blend with my fingers or with my BB foundation brush. I am in love with this product!! I find myself reaching for it almost every day. I highly recommend this product.
I was looking for a gentle toner, that actually felt like it was taking off the makeup residues of my skin, and, after reading all the reviews here I decided to try this toner. I rated it the highest because I simply loved this toner. It was better than I expected, it leaves my skin feeling clean, fresh and relaxed. No sticky feeling. I was really surprised, since it is a soft product but the first time I used it I noticed my cotton pad really picking up makeup residue. My skin was feeling happy and so did I !! Now, the price. It is expensive, but I wrote down in the box the date when I bought it and it lasted me a little over a year, using it every night and occasionally in the morning, when I was feeling my skin more sensitive/dry. The packaging is cute yet heavy crystal bottle. I rated it 4, for that. Will I buy this product again? Yes!
I bought this product because it had been listed as an item for a model's makeup in a magazine photoshot, and I tought it was pretty.. I was craving for a blue eyeliner, so I went to get it... boy oh boy... the color, somehow goes smoothly when applied on your hand but on the lids... it is terribly hard!! and way less intense than expected. And is pricey. The only good thing about this product is the smudger (I find myself using it quite often)... btw I got this in blue iris.
My experience with this product... I had a breakout and I was desperate to get a toner. So I went to the BS since I wanted to get a natural product (not as abrasive as clinique clarifying lotion no.3, since winter time is coming and this lotion is way too harsh...) After using this product for only one week I saw no results, I was not impressed at all... the smell is not unpleasant at all, I love the cucumberish thing (makes me feel fresh) but this smell seriously lingers and after a while it gets overwhelming. Just did not feel like it was working for me. So it went back to the store...
