Cleansers -Burt's Bees - Deep Cleansing Cream with Soap Bark and Chamomile
luna83me 2/7/2012 10:46:00 PM
I bought this hoping it would in fact be a deep cleanser but also sooth my skin at the same time. It does sooth my skin but it's a very poor cleanser. The addition of menthol seems to be there to imply that it is deep cleaning your skin. And it does imply it very well. But my skin feels like a film remains and rinsing and wiping with cotton pads. When used as a second cleanse after another crappy cleanser all my makeup seems to be gone. Don't really like it that much, but it does seem to be quite soothing.

Cleansers -Sukin - Cream Cleanser
luna83me 2/7/2012 10:41:00 PM
I've bought this when I've been really low on cash because it is an effective cleanser and the formula is low in/ has no artificial ingredients. It's an ok cleanser. It cleanses well, removes makeup effectively when used in a specific way. i.e. wet face with warm water, massage cream over face and wipe off with a face cloth or cotton pads. But I need something that is also soothing. And although this cleanser didn't cause any breakouts and cleansed very well it didn't calm my skin. So I will buy this again if I'm desperate, but my skin would prefer a a more soothing moisturiser.

Moisturizers -Unlisted Brand - Puretopia - Sensitive Care Soothing & Comforting Protective Moisturiser
luna83me 2/7/2012 10:27:00 PM
This is pretty good for the price. Australian $19.95 for 50 mLs in a pump bottle. I bought it to use as a night moisturiser as I like to use something a bit thicker than for the day. It most definitely calms and soothes my skin. I only apply the teeniest amount as I tend to have somewhat oily skin. This method works perfectly for me. For the price, this is a really great moisturiser to sooth sensitive/ inflamed skin.

Cleansers -Unlisted Brand - Puretopia - Whisk Away Rehydrating & Moisturising Face Cleanser
luna83me 2/7/2012 10:23:00 PM
I purchased this because my skin really likes gentle, milky cleansers. And it was extremely inexpensive. It's been ok... It didn't cause my skin to break out. And it wasn't drying at all. But I've definitely used better. I won't be purchasing again. If you don't wear makeup this might be a good option.

Mascara -L'Oreal - Double Extend Beauty Tubes
luna83me 2/7/2012 10:13:00 PM
Love this mascara!!!! It definitely extends and plumps my lashes, more and more with each application. I prefer this to normal liquid mascaras as it doesn't smudge by the end of the day as others do but it's still super easy to remove! All it needs is warm water and a face washer or cotton pads. Can't get much better than that.

Powder -Inika - Mineral Foundation
luna83me 2/7/2012 10:09:00 PM
Best foundation I have used. And I have used rather a few!! So all powdered foundation have pretty much fool proof application. It's hard to stuff this up if you get the right colour. And the colours are really great. Especially if you are fair and have found other mineral foundations to be too dark. I was using this in Grace which was perfect until I started getting out in the sun a bit more. So now I wear Unity. The formula is great for sensitive skin, and great for use as a concealer. Just dab a clump on a blemish and light blend with the brush. It is also quick to apply and has sped up my makeup application by about 10 minutes? The best features of this foundation for me: It really lets your skin breath. I don't get that gross feeling at the end of the day that I get did with other foundations. My face still feels fresh :) It can be worn as a light cover or layered for heavier makeup at night and cleans off very easily! Also I have sensitive, somewhat oily skin which doesn't react to this all. Other mineral foundations have caused me to break out. Things to take into consideration: Don't use it under your eyes, it's too drying. Purchase a cream undereye concealer. Also it's meant to be SPF 20 but this will be depend on how much you apply. I apply very lightly so it is not very effective as protection against UV rays.

Cleansers -LUSH - Dark Angels
luna83me 11/30/2010 8:10:00 PM
Whoa! How is this a cleanser?? More like mega exfoliator! This cleans like nothing else. However the exfoliating part is as harsh or gentle as you want it to be depending on how hard you scrub. But the charcoal gets right into your pores regardless of scrubbing action so you get a really excellent cleanout without this product. Having said that you really could just buy activated charcoal from a health food store and have the same result. But with even more mess... Yes. This is extraordinarily messy. But it's a small price to pay for such fresh feeling skin. I have sensitive skin so would definitely not be using this day and night, everyday as a cleanser! I'm surprised. I only use this once to twice a week as an exfoliant before applying a mask.

Cleansers -Burt's Bees - Orange Essence Facial Cleanser
luna83me 7/24/2009 2:37:00 AM
This removes my makeup very well. I only use it at night because I think it would be too greasy for during the day. I apply to dry or wet skin and remove with a warm, wet face cloth. I then cleanse with a salicylic acid cleanser (acnederm) instead of toning. It is a much more effective makeup remover than other cleansers that I have been happy with in the past. I don't think you will ever be able to cleanse only once with any cleanser to remove all your makeup, unless you wear a very tiny amount or use something like isocol every night. This cleanser does not irritate my skin and actually leaves it feeling & looking calm and comfortable. I think for the amount you get and amount that you use, it is over priced. I think I may go through this within 4 to 6 weeks and usually my cream cleansers last about 3 months at least. I'll see how I go. Over all I am very happy with this cleanser, I had gone through A LOT of cleansers in the past month that just weren't suitable for my irritated skin (from mineral makeup ingredient Bismuth Oxychloride). It has helped return my skin to its usual state. Hurray!

Liquid -Shiseido - Sun Protection Liquid Foundation SPF 42 PA+++
luna83me 7/13/2009 1:35:00 AM
This is the most mattifying foundation I think I will ever use. It felt like my face was being sucked inwards and it stayed like that for the entire day. I couldn't believe how great this foundation looked as well. But it was so incredibly hard to remove that I broke out really badly after a few days of use and had to discontinue. If you can effectivley and gently remove this foundation then it will be great for you. I can't be too harsh with my skin or it becomes unhappy!

Sunscreen -Unlisted Brand - Invisible Zinc - Tinted Daywear in Light
luna83me 7/12/2009 9:46:00 PM
Edit 8th Feb 2012: I'm trying this again. Having since tried numerous other facial sunscreens this was actually the best. So first day back wearing it today. It doesn't feel itchy like I thought it did last time and I think the price has come down too? You just have to pay extra attention to night time cleasing at it is I bit difficult to remove (as all zinc sunsreens are). I'm so annoyed. I thought I could finally settle on a sunscreen. I'm at the end of the tube so that's good. My skin is ultra sensitive to sunscreen. I bought the light colour and have been wearing this for about 3 to 4 months. It protects brilliantly and looks great under makeup (not enough coverage by itself for me). Today I realised that it has been the cause of my itchy skin. It's a barely there itch, but it is there none the less and it is incredibly annoying to remove at night. So back to the drawing board...

Eye Makeup Remover -Living Nature - Eye Makeup Remover
luna83me 7/10/2009 1:59:00 AM
This is really bad. First of all it doesn't work, it appears that it is only designed to be used on Living Natures Eye Makeup products. It smelt incredibly bad - I thought it was out of date but apparently not, judging by the used by on the bottom. And it was way overpriced for such a woeful product. I don't mind paying up to AU$10.00 for something which might turn out to be utter crap, but AU$35.00 is a bit rich for me. Take my advice and leave this one on the shelf...

Treatments (Eye) -Innoxa - Skin Specialist Gentle Eye Makeup Remover
luna83me 7/9/2009 2:57:00 AM
I haven't tried too many eye makeup removers, but judging from reviews for other products this one appears to be quite good. The amount you use is controllable, I place on to cotton pads and place on my eyes for 10 secs as recommended. I have to do this a few times with same pad and gently wipe around to make sure I get all, which I don't really like. It does leave the skin around my eyes a bit pink because of this. The good thing is that it is capable of removing all eye makeup, no greasy residue and no stinging. However, you do need apply a fair bit, and I don't think I want to be spending AU$20.00 every month/ few weeks on eye makeup remover.

Self Tanners -St.Tropez - St.Tropez Tinted Self Tanning Mousse/Whipped Bronze
luna83me 7/9/2009 2:49:00 AM
I've gone through A LOT of self tanners (as most others here have I'm sure!) and this gave me the best colour out of the lot. It isn't orange in anyway just brown. Quite surprising. It is easy to apply but because it works so well you have to be vary careful if you are quite fair as I am. To be on the safe side it is good to prepare for application a few days ahead using the lighter daily tanners so that if you do make a mistake it isn't as noticeable.

Love Love Love this body cream. Absolutely amazing smell and it's the best body butter/moisturiser I have ever used!!! I can't rave about this enough. Just try it and you will love it. You can't go wrong. The only thing is it doesn't last long because I want to use it all the time :)

Treatments (Eye) -Trilogy - Rosehip Oil Eye Contour Cream
luna83me 7/9/2009 2:40:00 AM
If an eye cream doesn't clog my pores then it usually isn't moisturising enough. However, this one is great! It is a light non-greasy cream perfect for use under makeup. Vary happy with this and a lot better than more expensive brands I have tried. I'm not sure about helping with under darkness though? I don't think it has helped with that. But I find it a good under eye cream though.
