Eye Shadow -MAC - Brule
luna2012 8/26/2012 7:09:00 PM
it may looks like a blah color but i believe its a basic, natural shade, im nw 15-nw 20 and many light shades like naked lunch dont show up on my lids, but brule does. its perfect for a day time look combined with cork /wedge (my favourite combination) or other browns to create a subtle and beautiful day time look. i also own orb (which is a bit more peachy) and bisque (which is a bit more beige) but once they are applied on the lid, you cant really tell the difference -in comparison to brule. thus, although ive hit pan, i wont repurchase any time soon since i have these 2 similar shades.

Eye Shadow -MAC - All That Glitters
luna2012 8/26/2012 6:57:00 PM
i really wanted to love it but i guess i belong to the minority. it looks really pretty swatched or in the pan but its a bit too bronze- orangy for my fair complexion (nw15- nw20). also, my eyelids are kinda "wrinkled" (they always have been this way so its not from ageing) and it kind of accentuates it. matte and satin finishes are more suitable for "cases" like mine. so for all these reasons... 2 lippies..

Lipstick -MAC - Patisserie
luna2012 8/22/2012 2:58:00 PM
im nw 15 -nw 20 (for reference) and on me its a beige nude, kind of MLBB. its pretty subtle and great for day time, i wish it was slightly more pinkish though. i was gonna buy both patisserie and high tea and the MUA at mac store talked me out of it, because she said they are pretty close so i dont need both of them. so, i guess high tea can be a close dupe of patisserie.. i have mixed feeling about it, although its a "practical" color its kinda blah for me so i dont know if i would repurchase it, maybe i would get it from B2M program for free.

Lipstick -MAC - Venus
luna2012 8/22/2012 2:47:00 PM
nw 15 -nw 20 for reference. subtle pink, great for work or going out but pretty much dupe-able. sweetie by mac is a close dupe -though venus has a golden sheen. also as it was mentioned here, bombshell is pretty close too. so in case you own bombshell or sweetie, you dont need venus. its L/E but even if it wasnt i wouldnt repurchase since i already have other similar lipsticks.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Veluxe - Kid
luna2012 8/14/2012 10:11:00 PM
i guess i belong to the minority here who find kid to be quite orange-reddish..it gives me a muddy look -maybe because im too cool toned? i dont know (nw15-nw20). if you dislike any eyeshadow which gives a hint of orange -red - copper, you should try another medium brown ( wedge and cork are my favourite -cork is slightly darker than wedge). also if you are like me and cant find a "light" contouring powder or bronzer because everything looks too brown on you, you should try kid for contouring your cheekbones (it was suggested by a mua) and it works. of course use kid with a light hand and blend it well and it will look really natural. overall, although i dont like kid as an eyeshadow due to the muddy - reddish hint it "leaves" on my lids, i really like it as a "contouring powder". p.s even if you apply on the lid brule first and then kid it still leaves an orangish shade.. :/

Lip Treatments -Christian Dior - Creme de Rose 001
luna2012 8/8/2012 8:19:00 PM
im on the fence about this product, ive used it a couple of times and i see it has some pros and cons.. first of all, the rose scent is not too intense or fake, its one of the best rose scents in lip balms (also apivita's rose lip balm has a lovely rose smell but its a bit more intense). although it feels moisturising, it sits on your lips, so i dont think it does an excellent job, actually ive used other dior lip products like the dior serum de rouge or the the dior addict lip polish and i believe they moisturise a bit better than this lip balm.(so in case you already have any of these products you may reconsider buying the dior creme de rose). besides, one of the reasons that i bought this product, was that since i have used the other dior lip-moisturising products and they were pretty good, i thought this lip balm will be excellent.. turns out its quite far from that. also, its pricey, its only 7,2 gr (0.25 oz) in comparison to mac lip conditioner (both jar and tube) which has more product. moreover, it doesnt do any plumping (though i didnt buy it for that, but i just mention it in case someone is interested in buying it mainly for its "plumping effect"). as for the packaging, the little jar is a little white plastic one, with the standard "CD" logo on the top of the lid and although its nothing special, it is really simple and classy . overall, great smell, mediocre in moisturising, no plumping, quite expensive, simple but classy packaging. ill continue using it but i dont see myself buying it again.

Lipstick -MAC - Viva Glam Nicki
luna2012 7/27/2012 9:02:00 PM
such a difficult color to wear. its beautiful but lets face it - it can look clownish. for daytime, the only way you can wear it without having "in your face" lips, is if you apply it realllly lightly on your lips (first you apply a lip balm of course -cause its satin formula makes it quite drying). so if you dab it/ apply it from the tube but really lightly / or with a brush i think you can wear it for a daytime look because it gives a bubble-gum slightly coralish shade. if you apply lots of it it shows its true color which is a pink/ coral but this is better for a night-time look.

Lip Liners -MAC - In Synch
luna2012 7/27/2012 8:53:00 PM
basically its a "concealer lip liner" (im nw15 -nw 20 for reference). im really disappointed. its really drying, you cant fill your lips evenly and its color makes the natural color of your lips disappear.. of course i wont be bying it again, but since i have it, i tried to find a way to use it. so far, the only way i found to apply this (fill your lips) evenly is: if u apply it and then rub your your lips with your finger, the way that you would put a lip balm / lip gloss (in a pot) with your finger, it blends and the color is distributed equally -there are no patches with more or less color. then you put on a bit of a lip balm, because it leaves your lips really drying and you can pair it with your lipstick (it goes well with creme cup and sweetie) and if you want you can put a bit of lipgloss on top. since its kind of a "concealer lip liner", it accentuates the color of the lipstick so it would be better to use it with a light color lipstick, or if you want your lips to "stand out" with a brighter color.

Makeup Brushes -MAC - #217 Blending
luna2012 7/16/2012 10:22:00 PM
when i first got it i loved it! until... i washed it for like 2 times and it became fuzzy, lost its shape and ..its purpose... i thought i got a bad one or something and made the same mistake, to buy a new one.. same results after a couple of washes.. mind you- i wash my brushes with a baby shampoo and though i have a few other mac and non mac brushes, only the 217 lost its shape and became fuzzy.. i was starting thinking that maybe i did something wrong until i read that other people had the same problems with it. funny fact? it is supposed to last you for ages!! why would i want a fuzzy shapeless brush to last me for years? i cant use it except for shading which i cant say it does a good job -shapeless as it is.. shading isnt even its main purpose..

Mascara -MAC - Lash Primer
luna2012 7/16/2012 10:10:00 PM
i was really curious to try it, since i was out of my dior lash primer (which though more expensive works wonders) and finally bought it.. huge disappointment. dont get me wrong i love mac but im not a mac fanatic. if a product doesnt work- it doesnt work ..i even put 3-4 coats of it plus 2-3 coats of mascara on one eye and just 2-3 coats of mascara on the other eye to compare the results and guess what.. the results where exactly the same! such a huge letdown..

Lip Treatments -Nuxe - Reve de Miel Ultra-Nourishing Lip Balm with Honey and Precious Oils
luna2012 7/16/2012 9:59:00 PM
i wanted to love this product but i couldnt. the grainy, gritty, heavy film that leaves on the lips is no moisturising at all - in fact, it made my lips look worse. for that price and rave, i was expecting something better. at first i thought that my pot had gone bad or something then i read other reviews with the same exactly problems so i guess its how this product "works" (or doesnt work to be precise). i dont see myself using this up - i simply cant stand it. too heavy and gritty -you cant even rub your lips. such a disappointment...

Lip Gloss -MAC - Cremesheen Glass - Richer, Lusher
luna2012 5/31/2012 6:53:00 PM
nw20 for reference.. i cant understand why the previous reviewers describe the color as peachy.. its orange..! seriously.. orange.. i guess they must have more warmer -tone complexions.. so in case you are nw15- nw20 and hate orange lips, dont waste your money on this product. i was looking for a sheer coralish peachy color and from the reviews i read and swatches i saw online, i thought it would be perfect.. turns out, thats not the case. tried to apply it over more "cool"-tone lipsticks but it pulls out the orange color no matter what i pair it with. back to mack... :(

Lipstick -MAC - Cremesheen Creme Cup
luna2012 5/22/2012 10:52:00 AM
if you hate the dryness of frost formulas and love angel's shade then creme cup will work for you! i loved angel but couldnt stand how much it dried out my lips. creme cup on the other hand, is more creamy (as it has a cremesheen formula) and its not that drying. naturally you cant say its moisturising too but its "bearable" (though angel wasnt for me). of course if you apply a lip balm first and / or a lip gloss (or clear gloss) on top of creme cup it solves the problem (something that unfortunately didnt happen for me with angel).

Lipstick -Clinique - Chubby Stick - Super Strawberry
luna2012 5/22/2012 10:42:00 AM
i was looking forward to trying this out, but its price (20 euro) for a lip balm was a no-no.. Until i found it 25% off. I bought super strawberry ( a strawberry redish fresh "healthy" color) and woppin watermelon (a pinkish sheer and light color).. And im extremely disappointed.... To start off, as its already mentioned, its not moisturising at all, in fact it dried out my lips and made the "cracks" on my lips more noticeable (as another reviewer said, it made her lips look like rasin). Both colors are nice, but does it really matter when it dries out your lips? Naturally i wont repurchase them, but since i got them, i tried out many things in order to make them work. So, the only thing you can do is apply another lip balm first and then apply this. Of course, the color wont be that "intense" and bright, super strawberry especially gives a pinkish redish sheen if its applied on top of a lip balm (its more bright if applied alone). Or another thing you can do is apply the chubby stick first (any color) and then on top of it apply a clear gloss or a pinksh light lipgloss. It may change the color but since super strawberry (and woppin watermelon) go with pinkish / light redish lipglosses it will blend well and create a new shade and most importantly it wont be that drying on your lips.

Lipstick -MAC - Sheen Supreme Lipstick - Blossom Culture
luna2012 5/14/2012 11:05:00 AM
If i could, i would put 0/5 lippies.. thats how much im disappointed with it.. First of all, i have to say that i have tried quite a few products from mac, some superb, some good and some bad.. But this blossom culture is the worst.. Its even worse than mac mascaras -if you are familiar with-. So, i just bought it, i had done my homework, saw many swatches online (which were not even close to the real shade of the product as it turned out) and i was looking forward to purchase this beautiful peachy -pinkish "light" shade. well, a friend of mine went to mac and along with her products, i asked her to pick this up for me. Well, on my nw 15 -nw 20 complexion is an orange color. no peachy -no pinkish... plain orange..and the worse? BRIGHT ORANGE. umm no actually it gets even worse... i can understand (somehow) that the color cant work for me and i can kiss goodbye the 18 euros it cost that ill never see again. The consistency of the product is even worse than the color.. can you believe it? Admittedly, its moisturising and thats because its something between a lipstick and a ligloss... BUT ..its application was really uneven, leaving "chunks" of orange color on my lips! seriously! my lipstick right now is missing "pieces". its like is "half -eaten" or "broken" in 2 places on the surface (where you apply it on your lips). such a bad quality you dont even get it from a 2 - euro lipstick ..! To sum up: 1.Ladies with nw15-nw20 complexion, avoid this shade like tha plague, UNLESS you love orang-ish shades.. 2. Ladies of all complexions, avoid the sheen supreme formula, UNLESS you want chunks of lipstick on some parts of your lips and a general uneven application -not to mention the dollars or euros that will go down the drain. sorry for my long review, im really disappointed with the product cause i really wanted to love it and i was looking forward to try it on.
