Lotions/ Creams -The Body Shop - Japanese Cherry Blossom Body Puree
lululemon 4/8/2012 8:33:00 AM
This is rubbish, what a waste of money. If you're looking for a good body moisturizer, save your money and spend it on palmers jergens or nivea but don't bother with this. The scent is okay, the texture not so great - I couldn't figure out why my skin was still dry after I applied it a few times in an hour.... Conclusion - this is an EDT masquerading as a lotion. Waste of money! Since I got this as part of a smaller travel pack, I wound up chucking the lotion and keeping the bottle (which is awesome for travel use by the way).

Styling Products -Shu Uemura - Satin Design
lululemon 2/5/2012 5:30:00 AM
Rock star styling product - Just got this earlier today and my hair is silky smooth and retains its shape without feeling heavy or sticky. I did a half towel and 10 minute blow dry My hair is quite thick so 10 minutes doesn't get it bone-dry. Having dyed and permed my hair once in the last twelve months, I try not to blowdry my hair too much for fear of wrecking it :) Here in Asia, it's not as expensive, about $45 bucks for the big bottle - I reckon it's good value for money since I used to pay about $50 for a bottle that was a third smaller. Score! :)

Shampoo -Batiste - Dry Shampoo
lululemon 1/28/2012 2:22:00 AM
Just bought this to try after reading up on dry shampoo on MUA. . . Gotta say that for the price and the ease of use I will be getting another to leave at work! I've always washed my hair everyday - living in a tropical country my hair gets so greasy in the space of one day that keeping the lathering to a minimum is almost impossible. However, since I have color treated hair that also means that overshampooing does cause a few probems. (My hair looks flat, it gets greasy at the roots and a bit dry on the ends, help!) I've used this twice since purchasing 4 days ago and am happy to report that my hair stayed fresh and in shape for the whole day (even longer than the days where I wash my hair in the morning). The smell was not overpowering and I didn't notice any white residue. I did however follow the advice from the girls here and applied a little at a time instead of going the whole 9 yards at one shot. Will definitely continue to use on a regular basis - 2nd day hair has never looked so good! :) My hair color: Dark brown Texture: Colored and permed Tested on: 2nd Day hair Amount used: One small spray at a time held about 20 cm away from head, focusing more on the roots, flipping hair over to create volume in between sprays. Lasted: 9AM - 8PM. Totally value for my money, so pleased!

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Galderma - Benzac AC 5 (benzoyl peroxide gel 5%)
lululemon 1/27/2012 1:19:00 PM
Throw this away. Especially if you are in your thirties. I wish I'd done some research before using this as it's turned a few mild blemishes into an ugly mess of peeling skin and red marks. 5% is way too harsh for our skin and the absolute max you should be using is 2.5% (if you must). Clearly I learnt this the hard way as this product not only dried out my skin but also clogged it afterwards. My go-to treatment is Epiduo, it's much gentler, and a whole lot more effective.

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Galderma - Epiduo (aka Tactuo in Canada)
lululemon 1/27/2012 1:12:00 PM
Epiduo is a lifesaver. I'm on my sixth repurchase and will never stray! I've always had semi-crazy skin, there are times I would go half a year with nary a pimple, and then I'd go through periods of horrific outbreaks.... Like many others I initially experienced some burning and ran to wash it off the first few times I applied it. Two things I realized I was doing wrong: 1) Too much product - you actually really need less than a pea sized amount to cover your skin in a very, very thin layer. 2) After adjusting the amount I applied I started again by using Epiduo only every other night. After almost a year on Epiduo I am still mostly using it every other night, switching to daily application only when I have my period. It's true that it is pretty pricey but after using a slew of other subpar treatments with mixed results, I'd say this is worth every penny!

Hair Color -Revlon - Colorsilk in Dark Brown
lululemon 1/24/2012 8:34:00 AM
Ladies, if you have to dye your hair at home - this is probably the best DIY color you can get your hands on without damaging your hair (too much anyway) I'd stayed away from dye-ing my hair for about six months since a horrible bout with Liese Bubble hair color (don't do it, it looks cute, but you'll regret it) but after reading the reviews here, decided to take the plunge, and five months later I am happy to announce that I've bought another two just this past week. My hair color (before): Blah dark brown My hair color (after): Rich, glossy dark brown which has faded over the last few months (I dyed my hair five months ago) to a dark golden brown. Hair Length: Long (Three inches past shoulder) Condition after dying: Good! My hair usually gets pretty dry after any color processing but it's stayed shiny and healthy! Tips: 1. Buy TWO packages if you have long hair; one was barely enough to cover half my hair 2. Dye at least day-old hair. 3. If your hair is already damaged from over dyeing - give it a rest for at least three to six months. Don't run out to dye your hair the first opportunity you get, you'll only spend a ton of money AFTERWARD trying to restore it to some semblance of normalcy. LOVE IT!

Polishes -OPI - Tickle my France-y
lululemon 2/16/2011 11:32:00 AM
I'm so glad I found this! It's definitely going to be my go-to beige for the start of 2011. The formula is a little thin but like others have pointed out, three coats seems to do the trick, finished with seche vite, I LOVE the way this looks on my toes (I don't do my hands often... I have a tendency to pick at my nails when i'm bored) LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!

Treatments -SKII - whitening source dermdefinition
lululemon 1/20/2011 9:17:00 AM
Managed to purchase this at duty free and decided to get the larger bottle. I was initially a little hesitant about using a new product but almost two weeks in, I have nothing but praise! My skin is generally finicky and oily in humid weather (painfully dry in drier countries), and having suffered a massive breakout on my right cheek last year I'd been looking for ways to remedy the acne scars (laser, peels, you name it, i've tried it all with varying, disappointing degrees of success) and this has turned my skin around - my complexion is more even now, the scars are less obvious and i have to use less makeup to cover up. I've been so self conscious for the past few months and only wish I'd come across this earlier! The price itself might be a turn-off but the results are well worth it. I find a little goes a very long way, two drops in the day before sunblock, and two at night before bed. I love it and hope it continues to work its magic!!! :) ---------------------- For the record, I use: Makeup remover/Cleanser: Biore Makeup Cleansing Gel Treatment: SKII Treatment Essence + Epiduo + Whitening Source Dermdefinition Base: Nivea Water Protect Gel + Simple Spotless Skin Oil-free Moisturizer Makeup: Glo Minerals Concealer + Laura Mercier Mineral Powder

Gels/Soaps -Dr. Bronner's - Peppermint Castille Soap
lululemon 4/19/2010 5:15:00 AM
I can't praise this enough. It is my go-to cleanser and I've not had a single breakout since switching over. (It's been four months, and I've got sensitive, acne-prone skin) My skin feels clean without being tight, and the soap's perfect as a body cleanser as well - I use this on mornings when I find it impossible to wake up. It's got an amazing fresh peppermint scent, priced well, multifunctional and all-around the best find I've made in ages. :)

My go-to pink that isn't really that pink, stays on for ages, and looks like I got a proper pedicure in a pinch! (I don't have the steadiest hands but it always turns out quite alright after two coats.) Definitely a good staple understated pink that works well with tan Asian skintones. :) Love it! (Don't love the price that much but that's what you get for living outside of the States I guess.)

Skincare - Body -Jurlique - Rose Shower Gel
lululemon 2/3/2010 2:27:00 AM
Scent therapy in a bottle! Got this as a gift over Christmas and whilst I generally stick with Dr Bronners for that wake-up freshness, I decided to give this out for a spin a few days ago. For a shower gel, it does the basics, it cleans and foams relatively well but the best thing about this is that wonderful scent after you're done with a hot shower. Calming and nice but having found out exactly how much it's retailing for, I reckon I'm going to conserve this bottle for as long as I can, and shop around for cheaper alternatives when it runs out.

Masks -SKII - Facial Treatment Mask
lululemon 12/17/2009 6:58:00 AM
I've been using this for a week so far (after reading the reviews in MUA, I kept the excess fluid and have been using it every night after removing my makeup) and the results have been great! I bought a box of 10 during an in-flight promotion hoping that it would help calm my skin down -- Generally when I travel between climates, my skin breaks out for a week or so, and having used this post-flight this time, I haven't broken out at all. Am using this in conjunction with Chanel's Purete Purifying Cream Mask (twice a week), and was expecting to at least break out when my period arrived, what with the hormones going crazy and all, but surprise, surprise, no breakouts whatsoever! Very pleased with this product, I'll be getting another box the next time I travel, and plan on sticking to this one mask a week (keeping the excess for the rest of the week) routine!

Tinted Moisturizer -Laura Mercier - Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20
lululemon 12/15/2009 9:42:00 AM
I've used this for 6 years, stopping a few years ago to try out mineral makeup thinking it would be better for my skin, but have recently come back to LM's TM because it's seriously one of the best products out there. Currently I am using NUDE, and mix in a little NATURAL RADIANCE from the illuminating TM range for my cheeks. The illuminating range was a little too shiny for my liking but mixed with the regular TM, it gives great coverage for some of my scars on my cheeks. A huge plus is that you can layer the TM for additional coverage (apply one layer and let it dry before layering the second layer). I'm not a big fan of sponges, so I'm applying it with my fingertips at the moment. I wear it all day and don't use powder on top to set it, and usually it stays put for about 8 hours. Great product, can't believe I jumped ship for mineral makeup but I won't be making that mistake again. **UPDATE** I've been using this faithfully for the last six weeks and my skin is clear, and blissful. LOVE IT!

Masks -Chanel - Masque Déstressant Pureté Purifying Cream Mask
lululemon 12/13/2009 10:36:00 AM
Just went to Chanel today and got a free sample to try. I'd seen so many good reviews for this that I figured, high price or not, I'd buy it anyway but I got lucky and am now sitting at home with this mask slathered on (fingers crossed I don't break out again). Consistency-wise, this is definitely like any normal hard clay mask out there, a little difficult to spread but once it's on, my skin doesn't feel tight at all and best of all, it smells wonderful. I used Chanel skincare once in my early twenties (I'm 30 now) and broke out horribly but if this goes well, I'll be back to get it for sure. Will post updates later! UPDATE: My skin is glowing! No breakouts, and extremely smooth. Definitely going to get the full-sized version!

Powder -Youngblood - youngblood mineral makeup
lululemon 12/11/2009 10:45:00 AM
Like many others, I first loved this product SO much, (the texture is superb, the grains feel so smooth) that I bought extras to take with me when I moved to Japan, never thinking that I would wind up hating it and furiously trying to finish up what's left of my stock. YB, at first glance, does a great job in only certain climates, and only with smoothing base makeup and all those great products out there that promise to make your skin a smooth canvas (but as I've found out, these base products ALSO make your skin break-out). I also later realized that the color does this weird chameleon thing where somedays it's far too white, and somedays it just looks orangey. I've resorted to mixing with other colors just to get it right but I honestly don't like having to do a science experiment every single day just to get the color balance right... YB also doesn't have much staying power, over long workdays it tends to get blotchy and settle in patches --- not something that you can fix with pressed powder cos it just makes it look worse. All things considered, I started using mineral makeup hoping my skin would stay clear, but over time I've realized that maybe the hype isn't quite all that. Pass! UPDATE: I've now laid off mineral makeup for five days and my skin is almost completely blemish free. I know mineral makeup is supposed to improve your skin but I'm guessing that mineral makeup doesn't work for everyone.
