BB Cream -Maybelline - Dream Fresh 8-in-1 BB Cream

This is o.k. Better than Garnier and cheaper too. I got Medium and it is a bit too light on me but the next shade up is dark and orange. Mixing them together isn't an option, still dark and orange, lol. This goes on sheer. Doesn't cover the dark sun spots under my eyes and I did tan with this which I wasn't expecting. Not too thrilled with that, but I like it enough that it doesn't have chemical sunscreens in it. My tube doesn't smell either. While it dried matte on my face, about 3 to 4 hours later the oils from my nose and sides of my nose pushed out and left me to add a powder (Neutrogena Mineral Sheer) to counter that. Would not buy again. Im going to try the Lumene one next.

Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Blast Clump Crusher mascara

It's a o.k. mascara. I bought brown. Not much volume and not much length either. This flaked towards the end of the day and the tube dried up really fast. Really weird brush, not much curve to it so it didn't really coat all the lashes. Won't be buying this again.

Eye Shadow -Maybelline - Color Tattoo rich mahogany
lulu56 5/11/2013 2:09:00 PM
I love this color! Too bad it was LE. I snagged the last one at Rite Aid last year and protected it from drying out by storing it upside down. This and the other LE Gold Shimmer go great together. I would say it is like the other reviewer said it is a deep burgundy brown with red flecks, not glitter. And it is more of a matte too. Yay! I use a concealer brush to apply Gold Shimmer first on eyelid and then using my index finger Rich Mahogany on top. Perfect smoky eye!

I wish Maybelline would make more mattes and how about some browns too? I have many of these and found that I don't use them as often because alot of the colors are way too frosty on my lids. I hate to leave a somewhat negative review as many of you love them but my Tough as Taupe dried up fast after a year and a half of using this as a brow color and liner and Bold Gold, what can I say? Bold Gold was great in the beginning. But when I got further down in the pot (this one dried up too) it got more glittery and splotchy and flakes on me. I had to throw this one away. Maybelline makes too many golds in this line. The one gold from last year, Gold Shimmer, is brownish gold, not as frosty, is pretty good. Too bad it is LE. Good thing I got two of these. The latest offerings, the spring line, I bought Lavish Lavender, Blue Paradise, and Shady Shores (another gold, come on Maybelline, stop with the golds, will ya?) Only it barely shows up on my lids, will do as a primer for powder e/s only. Inked in Pink and Lavish Lavender are great together. Blue Paradise is a duochrome ( pulls purple on me) but it is frosty. Sigh. No sign of any browns in this line up. Anyway, good thing they are nice and creamier than when they first came out.

Polishes -Cover Girl - Outlast Stay Brilliant Nail Gloss
lulu56 4/29/2013 8:36:00 PM
I bought just two of these, Wine to Five and Peaches & Cream. They both stain my nails after I took the polish off. Peaches was very pretty on my hands, used a base coat (always!) and a top coat. Minor tip wear after 3 days but it turned color which was weird (to me) and took it off on the fourth day, not expecting the yellow tinge on all my nails! Ugh! Looked like I got a disease! Wine to Five is a gorgeous wine red and it gave me five days before it chipped, this stained so bad it took almost a week before the cherry color went away. Never buying these again. Sinful Colors here I come!

Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - Jean-Charles Brosseau Ombre Rose
lulu56 4/24/2013 1:03:00 PM
I got a great deal on this on drugstore.com, because I was going back to the classic scents I used to wear back in the late '80's and early '90's. Ombre Rose was my signature "office wear" scent. It smelled exactly the same now. A blast of baby powder first which wears off after a couple of minutes to a drydown of a honeyed rose (on me) and a spicy note too. My SO says it smells like a spicy baby powder and it does not irritate his allergies. Really gorgeous bottle too. I bought the 3.4 oz, so it should last awhile. I would buy again if drugstore.com keeps it in stock. I can't stand the fruit salad scents that is so prevalent now. I had to give away those to my nieces who loves them.

I'm not an old lady, nor elderly but late 50's. This was my first fragrance I bought when I had a good job back in the 80's when it first came out. Everybody in the office then was wearing Ralph Lauren's Lauren. And an occasional Obsession. We were wearing the strong perfumes back then. All the guys in the office were more drawn in on my side in the cubicle, lol. I just bought a huge bottle of the EDT in my local Wal-Mart for 20 dollars! And I put it on today ( squirted on my wrists) and it is still there later, just a faint whiff which means that while it fades during the day, I can still smell traces of it on my just washed hands. A little goes a long way, ladies!

Lipstick -Maybelline - Color Sensational Vivids
lulu56 4/1/2013 9:12:00 PM
I have Shocking Coral, Vivid Rose, Hot Plum and Brazen Berry. I like these! Brazen Berry is my favorite and leaves a nice stain. I like purples. Hot Plum is more of a bright reddish plum. I have to agree with other reviewers about shocking coral. (What is the difference between this and Coral Crush?) It is out of my comfort zone to wear corals as most pull orange on me but this pull more pink and sheer. I don't mind, because I can build it up. Vivid Rose, whooo boy, this is bright! But I love it! It brightens up my face and also leaves a nice stain. These don't dry my lips and I like the scent and taste, as I have the other CS colors in the original line. Now, to find the Not so Red that isn't compromised and used, as I need a red!

I have seven of these. Walgreens was having a sale Buy one get one free, and bought Cashmere Mist and Chanel #5 for under eight dollars. I didn't get Angel because I have already a huge bottle of the original and the fake Angel doesn't have the chocolately note that shows up on my skin. The others I own were Opium, Obsession, Beautiful, Acqua Di Gio and Sensuous (sp?) I'm not a perfume snob, I have over 100+ frags, both drugstore and high-end. I tend to like spicy notes, roses and tuberose/gardenia. I didn't like Sensuous, too woody, Obsession too harsh, sour notes anyone? Beautiful is pretty but didn't last long, Acqua di Gio is a tad too sweet and cloying, gave that one to my mother, Opium is the lighter version of the original which I also have, (before reformulation) Chanel #5 is very light, not long lasting but it didn't have those sour notes in the bottom that I don't like in the original, and Cashmere Mist is almost spot on, just a little sweeter and the one most long lasting on my skin. I tested the two new ones out, Flowerbomb and Gucci Guilty. Flowerbomb is waaaay too sweet and cloying, couldn't wash it off fast enough with a baby wipe in the car. Gucci Guilty is meh. Walgreens is clearancing out most of the others, like the body sprays and some of the men's versions, so get these while they are still on the shelves.

Eye Shadow -Neutrogena - Crease Proof
lulu56 3/4/2013 5:43:00 PM
I got the purple one "Stay put Plum". It is sheer but the best thing I like about it is that it is not sparkly. It shows up more of a lilac color on me. As a lark I put this on top of powder eyeshadow ( Wet and Wild Petal Pusher) and it stayed put for about 4 hours. The next day I put it on top of Maybelline's Color Tattoo Barely Beige and it lasted longer. This is better than the Revlon one which was too greasy, and Cover Girl's.

Found this in a small size, probably the purse size, minus the rabbit ears, in the clearance bin at Walgreens for under three dollars! Sprayed this on today and it smelled really lovely! I owned more than 100+ fragrances, and this smelled like a lighter version of Britney Spears' Fantasy. This, I like better..

I sprayed from a tester at Macy's and it smelled nice on me. Since Macy's only have the big bottles for gazillion dollars, I went to the sephora in the JC penney and got the rollerball version of this. Well, the next day, I dabbed this on and it smelled MUSTY on me, I didn't get any florals or vanilla, just a "mothball" smell. Either the rollerball is bad, or my skin chemistry, or the tester, this is going back to Sephora.

Other -Ulta - Ulta- whole store
lulu56 2/16/2013 1:40:00 PM
The nearest Ulta from me is 20 minutes away. I go there maybe twice a year JUST to LOOK around. The store is clean except the clearance aisle which I don't touch, god knows how many people touch or tested them, ick. Where do they hire these people from??? The first time I went, I was looking for OPI Nail Envy. Not the nail strengthener or the top coat. The first SA I asked was clueless on where the OPI line is. She and I walked all over the store trying to find it. Then she took a personal phone call from her boyfriend and left me standing in the middle of the Essie line. Well, I have to say, I found it on my own by turning around and seeing the whole line of OPI nail polishes. There was the Nail Envy! But it was priced higher than I liked, and I can find it cheaper somewhere else. There was another SA who was drifting around doing nothing and there was a nametag on her chest "Smashbox", who proceeded to lead me to her line to "make me over", and I politely refused to her. She kept insisting. I kept saying no. Back and forth. Geez, leave me alone! She walked away in a huff. I went back to the front of the store to test out the fragrances and there were no testers! I asked another SA who was also doing nothing if she could open a bottle so I can test it. She said "No, we don't do that here" Huh? How am I supposed to buy anything there if I can't test it? The nearest Sephora to me is the one in JCPenney, in which they have limited stock and not all the new fragrances.. The free-standing retail Sephora is 2 hours away. Ulta was nearer, but if they continued to act like this to customers, they are doing a really good job of it! Sorry, Ulta, I will LOOK around but I will be buying online from Sephora. And I don't know how they can get away with the high prices on the drugstore line! And there's a Target next door to them!

Foundations -Cover Girl - Outlast Stay Fabulous 3 in 1 Foundation
lulu56 2/14/2013 9:06:00 PM
Holy moly, this is the best foundation I ever put on my normal/combo skin! It LASTS! I didn't get oily! It didn't oxided either! I don't have to set with powder either! Yay! I got #850 Creamy Beige, it is a tad too light but my skin is pink-toned ( I'm NW25) it blended in beautifully. I could have gotten a darker one but I will wait till the summer if it will last thru the humid days. Love the pump, you don't need much, so this bottle will last awhile for me.

Shampoo -Pantene - Expert Collection Age Defy Shampoo
lulu56 2/14/2013 8:49:00 PM
Didn't work for me, sadly. The first time I used this along with the conditioner, I had hair that is bouncy and full! The second time (next day), it felt coated, like I put on saran wrap, and it was not as bouncy. The third day, I just shampooed, different conditioner, ugh, felt like I had never washed it and made my scalp itchy and bumpy. I tried it again, a couple a days later, MAJOR scalp itch and hair fallout. Returned the shampoo (bottle leaked all over the place, tightly closed, upright huh, right) kept the conditioner for those days that my ends were dry. I have an oily scalp, must wash every day. Derm told me to stay away from volumizing shampoos and conditioners because of the high alcohol content and panethol. One lippie for nice scent. I tend to stay away from Pantene shampoos anyway because they never work for me. I thought I would try this because of the reviews. Their conditioners aren't bad if I stay away from the volumizing ones.
