Gorgeous lipstick! Definately a favourite. The colour can look really strange if applied heavily, however looks great when lightly applied, and blended with a gloss. :)

Liquid -Maybelline - Fit Me Foundation

I got this in the colour 230 Natural Buff... I have a medium skin ton and do use a false tanner/body bronzer. The colour is a fraction too light for my skin tone. Natural buff is pretty much right in the middle of the colour scheme, and I was a little scared to go any darker. Next time I may step up to 245 Medium Beige. My initial reaction to the foundation was it has super cute packaging, but does not have a pump. This causes alot of product to be wasted, and it can get quite messy. It also means alot of product goes to waste (you will never get it all out of the bottle.) When I opened the foundation up and tipped some out, I noticed the consistency is quite thin. It does have SPF 18, and I did notice it had an odour similar to sunscreen. I'd never had that smell from a foundation before. I applied it to my skin, and it does apply quite thinly. I decided to allow one coat to dry and apply a second coat (all with my fingers). This gave me a decent medium coverage, but I did go over problem areas with a concealor. The foundation has a light to medium coverage, good for summer time and every day wear, not so good for special events or if you're a person with acne, acne scarring etc. After I let it dry, I did notice ALOT of shine on my face. I always use a powder over my foundation anyway... but it seems most of Maybelline's foundations leave that horrible oily shine. I used Nude by Nature mineral foundation lightly over the top. After I'd gone through that whole process, my foundation looked awesome. I do love the colour, although it is too light. It seems they got the colours spot on. After a few hours, the foundation did lose alot of its "wow" factor. It looked great at the start, but kinda "blah" after only a couple of hours. I also had to touch up with powder my forehead, nose, cheeks and chin (and I do not have oily skin!), because they looked so oily and shiny. I got this foundation for 15 dollars (where I live that's dirt cheap for foundation.) Overall, it looks awesome when first applied, but disappointed me after only a few hours. It's light coverage, feels really lightweight on the skin which is nice, and I do feel it lets my skin "breathe." However it does get really oily, you do need a powder to set it, and it's not good for people who want a full coverage foundation.

Styling Products -TRESemme - Thermal Creations Straightening Gel [DISCONTINUED]

Gave my hair a very greasy, clumped together feeling, no matter how little or how much I applied. Leaves the hair feeling so clumped up and greasy and just nasty. I definately do not recommend getting this anywhere near the roots of your hair. It made my hair so difficult to brush through after I used it, and made it look realy oily.

This is a good foundation. It does have a good medium coverage, however it is not as full as I would like. It would definatey be a good foundation for oily skin, however I feel it leaves my skin a little dry, and it just leaves my face feeling a little dehydrated. I find I need to apply this to small areas of the face at a time, as it dries pretty quickly. It does not have an oily sheen once dry, and you can get away without using a powder finish over top. It's nicely packaged, and the pump is definately a nice addition. I have not noticed any "sparkles" in the product. For the price, however, I think you can find better foundations at a cheaper price.

Powder -Nude by Nature - Natural Mineral Cover
lulu2011 9/7/2011 10:34:00 PM
I love love love this foundation!!! This is the best mineral cover i've tried. It is a very light coverage, however. But there are ways to stretch out the life of this little pot! I have used the same pot for about 3 months, and have finally finished it. This is the longest a mineral foundation has lasted. I use Maybelline Superstay underneath, and a quick dust of this Nude by Nature mineral cover over the top. The nude by nature really finishes off the look. If you want to save product, buy a cheap drugstore foundation and use nude by nature lighty over the top. That way, you get a full coverage, with a cheap foundation, while still smoothing out the look with nude by nature. The foundation really leaves the skin glowing, and I feel like it really lets my skin breathe. Unless your touching your face and wiping your face all day, it does have a good staying power. It is a little pricey, but like I said, you can make it last a long time by using sparingly over a cheap drugstore liquid foundation.

Crème -Laura Mercier - Silk Creme Foundation

I bought this foundation because it has so much hype going on around it, with people saying it is "the best foundation ever!" I like to apply foundation without a brush or sponge, just clean dry fingers. This foundation seems to dry my skin out. It definately doesnt make it appear oily, however it leaves my skin with a very dry, dehydrated feeling. In terms of the colour range, it's not very big... I have purchased in rose ivory and then beige ivory when I got a little more tan... Both colours do not exactly match my skin tone. The colour range is definately suited to very fair, light skin tones. The consistency is very thick, and it is true that only a pea size is required to cover the whole face. A tube should last a couple of months at least, if you do your foundation daily. I also found I didnt really need concealor at all when using this, it is that thick. It does not cake, however I feel it leaves the skin looking flat and pale. (Again due to how dry the product seems.) The packaging is nice, you do need to shake it before use (it has a reminder sticker on the cap saying "shake well". Otherwise the product comes out watery. In my opinion, the product is a little too expensive for what it does. There are many other great drug store products which do a far better job for 1/3 of the cost.

Liquid -Maybelline - Super Stay Makeup

This is one of the best foundations i've tried on my skin. It does not cake, and I do put on quite a few layers. It is medium coverage, but definately buildable. It does not cake on the skin, and is very easily blended with the fingers. I do not use a brush or sponge to apply, just clean dry fingers is fine. It does take awhile to dry on the face, and can look quite shiney, so for a matte look it does require a pressed powder/loose powder to finish. The foundation is quite thick. As for colours, I have a tan complexion and have not found the colouring to be an issue. For light skin I see how it may make some people look "orange", so I probably wouldnt go for this foundation if I had a fair skin tone. The downfall like others have said is that there is no pump! This causes alot of product wastage! The product does spill out a fair bit, so you end up throwing away what is not used. A pump would definately be handy!
