Skincare - Face -Clinique - 3 Step System

I've seen a lot of bad reviews and my best advice when trying anything skin care related is to a) try samples or travel sized or b) keep your receipt just in case. I tried this system back in high school and I remember it worked for the most part and then I couldn't afford it anymore (For the record I bought the smaller size of everything and the bar soap and it came out to about $45 at Macy's. the sales lady said that large size of everything was only a dollar more but I'm still trying out this system). I got a sample of the three step system with a Sephora order and I've been desperate to try something that will help get rid of my milia (little white bumps, also known as baby acne) After two days with the sample. My milia was about 80% gone I kid you not. I'm going to keep on using this system. I gave it a 4 because its not completely helping my redness but it is going away. Also, the lotion is a little smelly but it goes away.

Yup, HG and daily wear! So pretty and flattering for my completion (fair to light medium) hardly any shimmer and doesn't require a lot of layering. You won't be disappointed!

Bronzers -BeneFit Cosmetics - HOOLA

Adore this product! Contouring holy grail for me. I'm fair skinned and yes if you use too much it can look dirty but with the right amount is just perfect for contouring. The packaging stinks and I typically don't pay a lot for make up. However this is worth the price ($28 at Ulta) for me.

One word: orange. People say this is a dupe for Benefit Hoola and no it's definitely not. Check out this review and look at the swatch. http://beeeutybloggers.blogspot.com/2011/06/review-and-comparison-benefits-hoola.html?m=1 For a fair skin gal like me, I'll pass on sunny and keep my Hoola.

Lip Gloss -E.L.F. - Luscious Liquid Lipstick in Baby Lips
rated 5 of 5

Lipsticks (no matter how much I exfoliate and moisturize) always dry out my lips. And I hate the stickiness of glosses. So I decided to try this out and figured I'd only waste a dollar if it didn't work. It's now one of my holy grail products. I freaking love the color and sure it's a little sticky but nothing compared to a gloss. It also doesn't dry out my lips and it can last about two hours. If you want something that'll last all day, find something else. But if you don't mind taking a moment to reapply then this is a great product.

Loose Powders -E.L.F. - Studio High Definition Powder

I do love this product and agree with others that too much can make your face paler. I found it works best for me to apply BEFORE my blush and contouring. When I put it on after blush/contour, it washed them out. But it does a great job of mattefying my face and making it look less cakey. Great product!

Makeup Brushes -E.L.F. - Kabuki Face Brush
rated 5 of 5

I wonder if people got a bad batch of brushes or something because I LOVE my kabuki brush! It's never shed, never. And I wash my brushes weekly with baby shampoo. It is dense, soft, and picks up product beautifully. And it's cheap!

Misc Beauty Tools -E.L.F. - Studio Makeup Mist & Set Spray

I really love that this sets my make up for only $3! It makes my powders(foundation, bronzer, blush, finishing powder) last all day. I don't think it smells bad at all, in fact I like it! The only issue I have is sometimes it leaks when I shake it(I don't know if you're supposed to shake it before use but I do).

Palettes -NYX - Butt Naked Eyes
rated 5 of 5

Love. Love. Love. I got it for $15+ shipping on HauteLook, great price. The packaging is sleek and easy to open. I love that it also comes with a huge mirror. The colors are beautiful and I especially love the grey tones. I always use TFSI for a primer and these shadows stay all day. They also blend nicely. The bronzer and high lighters are things I use daily but the only thing I dislike is the blush. I don't like the glitter/shimmer in it. Despite that, I use this palette everyday, no joke.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Paint Pot in Soft Ochre
rated 1 of 5
lukeyb 12/30/2012 1:06:00 PM

I've tried many things to prep my es. MAC paint pots are always raved in the beauty blog/YouTube world so I bought one. I choose soft ochre as opposed to painterly because the color matched my lids better. I was pretty disappointed. This worked about as good as the ELF $1 primer which didn't work for me. One reason I thought it didn't work was because I don't have oily lids. Everyone who raves about paint pots seems to have oily lids. But if you have normal lids like me, pass it up! I may use this to conceal or highlight but not as an es primer.

Eye Primer -Too Faced - Shadow Insurance, Anti-Crease Eye Shadow Primer
rated 5 of 5

I've tried MAC paint pots, ELF, Sephora, Mirabella; finally I've found a primer that makes my eye shadow stay put!! It makes even cheap shadow stay. Don't waste $ or time on other primers, just buy Too Faced!
