Totally in love with this polish - just a really flattering glitter blue. The brush is super easy to use and the product is great quality!

Foundations -Make Up For Ever - HD High Definition Foundation
rated 3 of 5

Apparently this is Sephora's best selling foundation in North America. Why?!?!?! Look, I tried this on in Sephora and I like the fact that their consultants are well-trained so the colour is perfect. As is the texture - it gives good coverage without being heavy and it's easy to use. However. I have oily skin and this slips and slides all over the place! The packaging is also really bad - it's a pump bottle but a LOT of the foundation has caught up in the pimp itself - big waste. For something so expensive, I'd be expecting much more

Eye Shadow -MAC - Sweeten Up
rated 3 of 5

I would definitely buy this again - if only it wasn't LE!!!!

My colleague at work had this on - she is dark skinned and it looked amazing with a swish of black liner.

I'm more lighter toned and bought this with Shroom - what a great combo.

This is like NARS Orgasm made for eyes - just so pretty! If you can't get it, don't go for Paradisco, it doesn't look even half as good

Eye Shadow -Trish McEvoy - Definer in Clover

This is a dark green with a slight gold shimmer - very pretty as a liner colour and lasts throughout the day. Its expensive though considering you don't even get a pot or anything other than a plastic case.

Scrubs -Origins - Never A Dull Moment Skin Brightening Facial Polisher
rated 4 of 5

Even though it was the end of the month, I'd gone over my overdraft limit and the weather was crap, I still went out and bought this. And I'm glad I did - the texture feels a bit manky in the hand but once I got it on my face, it felt great. My skin was baby soft and moisturised.

Lip Gloss -LORAC - Beauty
rated 4 of 5

My lipgloss collection seems to consist of so many mistake purchases that I am now so loathe to buy something without looking at it for at least 30 minutes, trying it on my hand, dabbing some onto my lip and then going away to think about it before coming back to have another play. The SA's think I'm nuts. Anyway, Beauty is a shimmery peach with a slight irredesence of pink. This looks very pretty on me - its not gloopy or sticky but it does look like when looking at the brush. I'm also not sure about the bottle - how easy is it going to be getting all the product out? A good purchase and hopefully I'll be getting another one soon!

Gels/Soaps -Molton Brown - Heavenly Gingerlily Moisture Bath and Shower
rated 1 of 5
lucyc 4/5/2004 10:09:00 AM

Ugh, Heavenly my big ol' backside - this is about as Heavenly as sitting in a rain storm and letting my GHD-ironed hair dissolve into a plethora of frizzy mess. And since when is this stuff moisturising? Since *never*! Plus, why when I shove my nose down the tester bottle does it smell so lush yet when I'm lathering up, it smells of rotting flowers? I know I stored it away for about a month but hey, 18quid bottles of shower gel should not do this! Let the truth be told, I'm not taking this back since I am currently on a use it up challenge but I'll be damned if I get landed with this again. Go with the Sensual scent - much more reliable

Scrubs -Philosophy - guru (world-class hot salt, tub and shower scrub)
rated 4 of 5

Holy smoke batman - whats all this about another body scrub wanting to take The Gingerbread Man's crown? Well its true, TGM is all about scrubbing and sloughing and whilst I love it, my loyalty (for this week, anyway) will be going to Guru - its just a more summery scent (citrus stylie) and I'm sure the granules of exfoliationary ability are softer. As with our friend, The Gingerbread Man, I wouldn't advise using on dry skin - too harsh and not softening enough

Eye Shadow -Chanel - Stellaires Quad
rated 2 of 5

Why oh why do I continue to buy eyeshadows when I *know* they are not going to be right? Well ha! I've stopped buying them and started swapping them. Unfortunately I still make this mistake even when I only have to pay a couple of quid for postage and packing. When I buy eyeshadows, I like them to go on as the same shade as they are in the pan. No changing shade after 20 minutes of wearing, no sudden distinct lack of shimmer, oh no - NARS Night Star ain't going to get away with that one. And nor is Chanel Stellaires - love the blushes, hate the shadows. I'm thinking that lovers of sheer pretty colours might like this but why buy it if it looks scarily opaque in the store? Why entice people who like bold colours to buy the quad only to discover you need a truckload in order to see any evidence of eye shadow wearing? Chanel have a lot to answer for on this one...........

Blush -NARS - Torrid
rated 4 of 5

Not a fan of orange day-glo, I was slightly worried when I finally saw this in the shop with the knowing dreaded feeling that this bad-boy was well on the way to my flat, care of Royal Mail and there was nothing I could do to stop it. Yet, I somehow still managed to rip apart the envelope, open the box and slide out that deliciously rubbery package and open it to find this hideously ugly, all to familiar, radioactive poison staring up at me, possibly emmiting radioactive waves (although I can't be sure) For some reason (unbeknowned to yours truly), I actually got a brush and swept it over my cheeks. With my eyes clamped shut, I opened each eye slowly, one at a time, to find each cheek glowing with pure beauty. This colour is so hard to describe, especially when my hatred for its ugliness in the pan is so violent but if you have a medium warm skin tone and would like cheek bones you could sharpen a knive on then this product may just help you achieve that.

Moisturizers -Christian Dior - iOd Matte Aqua Fluid
rated 5 of 5
lucyc 3/9/2004 8:37:00 AM

When on the tube and not being able to sit down, having some perve ogling at my chest and having another weirdo jamming his elbows into my ribs, finding the perfect matte moisturiser should not be top of my list. It is, because I find that fantasing about this kind of thing keeps me from poking the pervs eye out and stamping on elbow-man's foot with my stiletto heel. Little did I know that one dreary wet Saturday in March, that I'd find my perfect matte moisturiser in the form of iOd. Yeah, so I bought this because I liked the cool blue, semi see through packaging and the cute little pump but hey, I'm a girl. This stuff goes on nicely and helps me keep shine at bay until afternoon.

I have finally found a mascara that I will buy again - it makes my long but sparse lashes full and volumous. The packaging is cool (very dark green)and its a reasonable price too!!

Highlighters -Guerlain - Les Meteorites balls powder
rated 4 of 5
lucyc 2/16/2004 8:14:00 AM

I'm so shallow I actually bought this because it looks impressive on my bathroom shelf. It only recently occured to me that maybe I should have a little looky as to what is inside ---- lo and behold, a pile of shimmering pearls were looking up at me. Determined to work out what the bloody hell I was going to do with this stuff, I started sweeping it liberally all over the place. Actually this stuff looks remarkably good in the hair - it gives it that subtle shimmer without looking like a cheap prostitute waiting for her next lay outside a club.

Eye Shadow -NARS - Iceland Duo
rated 4 of 5
lucyc 11/3/2003 8:21:00 AM

An SA put this on me a couple of weeks ago and I freaked out a little as it looks very bright and scary in the pan. I didn't buy it because it looked too difficult to use but then I plucked up the courage and went and got it. I'm so glad I did! I used it with my finger tips this morning and the more you spread it, the more irrediscent (sp?) it becomes. Blended with Stila's Apres Beach dark brown, it looks fantastic and is easy to achieve a greenish or blueish hint of colour without wearing the actual colour itself!
