Mascara -Revlon - 3D Extreme Mascara - Blackest Black
luckyrh 11/25/2007 9:17:00 AM
Garbage. The brush was so small and clumped with mascara. Even after taking the time to wipe the brush my lashes were clumpy. I did not notice a difference between the volumizing portion of the wand vs. the lengthening portion. The mascara itself was very black, but was all smudgy 6 hours later. Do not recommend.

Deodorants -Kiss My Face - Active Enzyme Deodorant
luckyrh 11/11/2007 8:05:00 PM
I use this product when it's not hot and I'm not doing anything active. It's kind of sticky and tacky on the skin but it washes off very easily. I have the unscented version, which does kind of smell, but it doesn't bother me at all.

Mascara -Clinique - high definition lashes
luckyrh 11/11/2007 7:27:00 PM
I bought this product for $10.00 on sale. One side of the wand is a comb and the other side is a regular brush. I use the comb side first and then use the brush side. It takes a while getting used to the comb but it delivers enough product onto my sparse lashes. My lashes are lengthened and defined but I would prefer a little more volume. I'd recommend this product if you like definition and length, but not if you need volume.

Treatments -L'Occitane - Shea Butter Nail & Cuticle Cream
luckyrh 11/4/2007 3:56:00 PM
Contains 30% shea butter but I don't find it's doing anything positive or negative for my cuticles. My cuticles are a little dry but there's no peeling or anything. I like the applicator tip and that's about it. Would not buy again.

Skincare - Face -Unlisted Brand - rosehip seed oil
luckyrh 11/4/2007 3:37:00 PM
I apply this after applying jojoba oil to my face as a moisturizer at night. It contains omegas and vitamin E, which is good for the skin. I apply 2 - 3 drops to my palms, warm up and gently press onto my face and neck. I find it sometimes gives me little bumps, which I attribute to the vitamin E, but they don't turn into pimples but rather dry up and flake off. Despite the bumps and my predisposition to oily skin this does not aggravate it in any way nor is my skin oily in the morning.

Mascara -Maybelline - Great Lash Mascara
luckyrh 11/4/2007 3:23:00 PM
So bad. I don't understand why it's rated so highly by the magazines and the makeup artists. While it's cheap and the tube is pink and cute, it doesn't make up for the fact that it gives me horrible raccoon eyes. Do not buy.

Hair -Unlisted Brand - Finesse Moisturizing Shampoo
luckyrh 11/4/2007 3:12:00 PM
LOVE it! Cleans my hair very well. I try to wash my hair every other day and I only need one wash to get it clean. My hair's greasy by the second day and I don't use any styling products, but one wash is enough. I also like my hair slick after rinsing, as I hate the squeaky feeling. I try to stock up when it's on sale at around $1.99 CDN. I use it with Pantene Smooth and Sleek Conditioner.

Lotions/ Creams -L'Occitane - 20% Shea Butter Hand Cream
luckyrh 11/4/2007 3:06:00 PM
Received this as a gift, but I'm aware it's not cheap. I don't need too much to moisturize, about a 1 cm smidge, but the scent is quite strong and can be overpowering to those with sensitive noses. As long as I don't apply too much it sinks nicely into hands, but I won't repurchase because the smell is too strong.

Cleansers -Philosophy - Purity Made Simple (Real Purity Cleanser)
luckyrh 11/4/2007 3:00:00 PM
I usually only use this in the shower, all other times I use spectrojel. I absolutely hate Purity's bottle and transferred it to a bottle with a pump. I wet my face, use about a quarter size amount and gently massage my face for at least 1 minute; sometimes I use a muslin cloth from the Body Shop and gently pass it over my face. Rinses very well and I've never reacted badly, it foams slightly which is nice and my face is never dried out. Takes off foundation and mascara very well.

Lotions/ Creams -Bath and Body Works - Breathe Happiness Deep Moisture Healing Hand Cream
luckyrh 11/4/2007 2:50:00 PM
Bought this when it was on sale for about $3.00 USD; was originally priced at $12.50. The smell is very nice. I can smell the citrus, but there's also the hint of mint underneath. Moisturizes well, not greasy and sinks right into my hands.

Conditioner -Pantene - Pantene Smooth and Sleek Conditioner
luckyrh 11/4/2007 2:37:00 PM
I've been using this conditioner for at least 5 years and it's my favourite conditioner hands down. I have long, thick, coarse Asian hair and it conditions my hair so well. I tend to use a palm full (my hair's more than halfway down my back) so one bottle doesn't last very long, even with washing every other day. I try to stock up when it's on sale, and I don't like paying for than $5.00 CDN for it. After rinsing I like my hair to feel very slippery and I can run a wide toothed comb through with no tangles. I then air dry for about two hours, then do a quick blow dry for less than 5 minutes and my hair's nice and shiny. I must mention that I have virgin hair and it's naturally very straight so I don't know how true the "smooth and sleek" claim is, but I get compliments on my hair so I'm not complaining. I also use this with Finesse shampoo.

Skincare - Face -Avene - Thermal Water
luckyrh 11/4/2007 2:30:00 PM
After cleansing I spray my face with Avene's thermal water and then blot off with Shiseido's facial cotton. I know it sounds silly to spray your face with water, but I find it to be very refreshing and it doesn't make my skin breakout or dry out. I've also tried LRP's thermal water, which was OK, but I think Avene's spray gives a slightly finer mist.

Skincare - Face -Unlisted Brand - Jojoba Oil
luckyrh 11/4/2007 2:21:00 PM
The brand I purchased is called Essencia and I paid about $23.00 CDN for 100 mL. The bottle did not come with a dropper so I purchased one for about $2.00 and transferred the oil into the bottle dropper. I LOVE this stuff. I use it to take off my mascara: I drop 3 or 4 drops onto my fingertips and gently rub my dry lids with my fingertips (I don't like to use cotton pads as I think it's too harsh for my eye area). Depending on which mascara I'm using it either comes off completely or just a little bit is left, which my cleanser will take off. I also add jojoba to spectrojel when I wash my face; does an excellent job of removing foundation, dirt, and oil. Finally, I use it to moisturize my face in the evening. I use 3 drops, rub between my palms and gently press onto my face and neck. I wake up with skin that's not shiny, oily or dry.

Cleansers -Unlisted Brand - Spectro Jel for Blemish-Prone Skin (Fragrance Free version)
luckyrh 11/4/2007 2:07:00 PM
At night, if I've been wearing foundation during the day, I use one pump with about 5 or 6 drops of jojoba oil and it takes all the makeup and oil off. I then use another pump to cleanse any remaining jojoba oil left on my skin. My skin is clean, smooth and not irritated or dried out. In the morning I use one pump and my skin is soft and clean. I've never reacted badly to this and while the smell is a bit chemically and the texture is slightly slimy, I appreciate the fact that it is so gentle to my skin. Be sure to massage gently into skin for at least 30 seconds.
