Just discovered this on a recent trip to Japan and I love it. Feels matte and like nothing on. I haven't used it long enough and so can't say whether it eventually causes breakouts or not, like some have said. Wish I'd bought a whole case in Japan! If anyone knows where to get this in the US, without going to eBay, please respond!

I too was fooled by the hype (magazines, celebrities). Color looks fake; stain does last on me, but nothing special. Too drying. And what a rip-off, the whole thing seems to have dried up after using for less than a week. Just use a pencil or apply lipstick and blot several times for similar (but better) effect
I'm on my second or third tube of Ruby lipstain -- which is saying a lot for me, b/c I have a ton of lipgloss, sticks, you name it. It has a natural consistency, not too glossy or drying, and what I love best is how it's truly a stain -- it takes a long time to fade, and fades naturally. This may not sound like the best praise, but it is -- in that it's not something I automatically reach for, but no matter what new trend I try, I always come back to this.
so glad to read others who share my sentiment on this: I have no idea what the hype is all about, and the experts/magazine must have been paid off somehow to constantly rave about this. It doesn't build length or volume, and worst of all, it smudges the worst of any mascara I've ever used. (and, to show what a sucker I am for hype, I even bought this twice, after reading the annual review...even though the previous year I didn't like it). Try Rimmel, Cover Girl or some other cheap mascara that works much better
