Foundations -Clinique - Dewy Smooth Anti-aging [DISCONTINUED]

When I first tried this the SA wasn't very good, she rubbed the product into my skin with a foundation brush, my face looked pale and most of all, not dewy. My skin did not look good. So I bought another bottle of supermoisture, which btw, is great for that lovely supermodel dewy skin, only the coverage is VERY sheer, hence me trying dewy smooth. I then went to another clinique counter and the SA there was much better, she actually made a sample pot of the dewy smooth for me so I could try at home and see if got on better with it. So the next day about half an hour after I had cleansed and moisturised, I applied the foundation. I used my fingers, and just smoothed it over my moisturized skin. It went on MUCH better. The coverage is good, but not as heavy as the other reviewers make out. It smells really bad though, chemically. You can build it up quite nicely as well, it doesn't cake. And it doesn't settle too badly into any fine lines, which was nice. My only problem with it is that it's not AS dewy as I would like, the colours are awful, i had to get second to last darkest as the darkest was for black skin tones, where as I'm fare skinned asian and the second to last wasn't dark enough! And it was a wierd unnatural grey tone. They should really sort this dated situation out. I checked my make up every few hours, and it has stayed pretty good and fresh so far. My skin does look smoother and not cakey. I also put a little bit of bronzer on top to darken my face up a little, and (as I have dry skin) it hasn't made my skin look dry or flakey/cakey, it actually looks better with the powder product on top. It gives it a satin finish. Just not dewy though, which is the look I like to go for. I think I will purchase the full size one of this product, and then use my supermoisture ON TOP on areas to give it that sheen dewyness that I like, and it'll also darken it up slightly, along with the bronzer (what a palavar). A not bad foundation, shame about the strange wierd colours, and lack of dewyness. But an ok product that provides ok coverage and does smooth skin out farely well. Oh, and it does oxidise a little, so for me that was good as it made it a slightly better tone and a little darker. I kinda rely on it to that now! But for most that's prob not a good thing!

Foundations -Stila - Perfecting Stick Foundation

The good thing about this foundation is that for dry skin it doesn't go that cakey after a while, or attach itself to any dry skin/flakes, but that may be because It never seems to 'melt' or set into the skin, it just sits on the surface. Therefore it isn't long lasting at all (however, the website does state it's not a long lasting one). The colour goes a little grey on me too, a very unnatural shade. I only really use it now to touch up, and it is pretty good for that as you can put it on top of powder and it freshens your make-up up quite nicely, as it's quite moisturizing, but the effect won't last and you'll need to touch up again soon. I wouldn't repurchase this foundation again, I think there are better lines out there for this kinda product (maybe bobbi brown?), for me it just stays on the surface and wears off way tooo quickly. Also, for oily skins it may be super greasy for them, as even on my dryish skin it sometimes is.

Lips -Jelly Pong Pong - HUMP BALM
lovelylina 9/1/2008 9:42:00 PM
I bought this in 'lick' from their website, where it was described as something like "a fleshy natural pink most suitable for blondes". I'm not blonde, but I liked the idea of fleshy matte pink on the lips. Once I recieved the product, the shade wasn't as deep as I was expecting, or the right tone, however it was ok on, nice for day time, would probably look nice on blondes (funnily enough). Texture wise it's matte, and I find if you just dab your lips with it, it looks better than if you wear it heavily like a lipstick. Despite being matte, it does moisterize your lips, doesn't dry them out, but it's definately not something I would use in place of my regular lip balm. I would repurchase this product again, but NOT in that shade. Oh, and the stick breaks, so be careful not to wind it up too high when you use it! I found it fairly good value for money, and the product had good lasting power on.

Blush -Jelly Pong Pong - Supermodel Stain - Giggle & Pop

I had heard good things about the supermodel stain, just mainly from all the exciting press of the brand when they first launched in the uk - this was one of their star products, touted as a stain that REALLY, REALLY lasts and doesn't budge. And the word supermodel obviously appealed! So I stupidly ordered it online, with a bunch of their other products, without actually seeing the colours in real life. I'm very impatient when I get my mind set on something. This shade, giggle and pop, looked lush on the website, a bright orangy pink. In reality it is alot muted, and quite a dated coral colour. It's pretty on, in a natural way, but just wasn't what I was expecting. It's quite matte, which isn't really what I like, but it does last once on, and is easy to blend. It's great if you want quite a natural looking blush, but you can build it up for deeper colour. For my dry skin, it seemed fine, didn't dry it out despite being matte, and didn't flake. On my lips it was ok too, almost like you had rubbed a tiny amount of matte lipstick on your lips, but it lasts. If I wanted a nice natural look, minimal effort, this is great, but generally doesn't hold enough impact for my evening make-up. Just a bit... blah. Packaging is pretty, my favourite thing about the product. It's tiny but the product is so pigmented it's actually fair as you don't use much. Great for slipping in your pocket if you don't want to carry a big bag, has a cute mirror, probably the same size as a large stamp. I like the pink packaging a lot. But I definately will not be buying this shade again.

Blush -BeneFit Cosmetics - Posietint

My HG in blushers! I am light skinned asian (mac C5, maybe NC 40? -I wear face and body), I like my make-up to look dewy and fresh (Olsen twins make-up style is a good example, smokey eyes, dewy skin, pink cheeks, baby dolly), and this is by far the best product for getting beautiful flushed PINK (not red) baby doll cheeks that have a gorgeous glow and shine, even on my dry skin! Some of the reviewers said they couldn't get the product to show up, even on their fair skin, I have to say I'm surprised. You do have to build up the colour, as with most things, it normally takes three applications (with blending inbetween, obviously!) for me to get my perfect pink dewy cheeks. The pink colour is pretty, soft but still bright with a nice 'pop', and it stays put all day/night, and best of all, so does the dewyness! It doesn't dry out, which most of my blushers tend to do after a while, and it doesn't saturate on any dry skin/flakes, which most stains can do. It's not as amazing for the lips, but I think it works pretty good. My lips are super pale so it's nice having this on (again, about three applications does it!), and then a gloss or balm on top, so it doesn't matter if the gloss wears off as you still have colour to your lips. If you have very dry lips maybe exfoliate before hand, will make for smoother application. All in all a great product, exactly what I've been looking for for the last, I don't know, 10 years? It is a little pricey but I think it will last you a while. My only problem is if I carry it out with me in a make-up bag it leaks/congeals around the lid, which is annoying. I generally leave it at home now to avoid this. I'd say it was suitable for ALL skin types, however if you want a dry matte stain this is not for you, as it does have a healthy sheen to it that stays. I 100% recommend!
