Cleansers -Trader Joe's - Tea tree oil facial cleansing wipes

I wish these came in Costco sized packs. I stopped using astringent pads a long time ago because I found better methods of controlling my acne. I didn't really like the severe sting of medicated pads. However, I decided to give the ones from Trader Joe's a shot since I've had pretty good luck with tea tree oil. Well, they do sting, but they do a lot to help with my acne as well. I only use them at night as a toner to help get rid of all the oil and grime that built up on my skin during the day. But, my favorite use is actually wiping them all over my chest and back because I'm one of those poor people whose acne is not limited to their face. I get acne on my chest, breasts, back, and even my butt (sorry if this is TMI, just trying to help others out there like me). These medicated pads are so wonderful for getting rid of the acne that appears on the rest of my body. I have seen a dramatic decrease in the cysts on my back and chest. I'm almost at the point where I might consider wearing shirts that reveal my back (when you have bacne you're so embarassed you tend to wear a lot of T-shirts). I also use Neutrogena's body clearing body wash, but I find that these pads help a lot when used in addition to a clearing body wash. I go through these pads really fast and I really hope Trader Joe's does not discontinue them.
Lotions/ Creams -Trader Joe's - Nourish Shea Butter Hand Cream

I own a bunch of other hand lotions, but I bought this one because it is more purse sized than anything else I own. I love that it contains natural ingredients. It definitely moisturizes my hands, but it doesn't leave them with a super soft feeling like other lotions do. Also, the moisturization does not last as long as other hand lotions I've tried (but, sadly, that's sometimes the cost of using more natural products). However, this is still a great item to keep in my purse and it definitely banishes dry skin.
Scrubs -Trader Joe's - Lavender Sea Salt Body Scrub
loveforsocks 9/1/2012 6:25:00 AM
This is my favorite body scrub. I find that most scrubs have too much liquid and not enough scrubbiness. This one has the perfect balance. I love the scent. As a warning: if you are going to use this to exfoliate before shaving, do not shave right after you use the scrub. This product contains a lot of natural oils that will clog your razor (trust me, I found out the hard way). It's great for softening and moisturizing your skin, but you need to use a body wash to get rid of the excess oil before you shave. Since I discovered dry brushing I now only use this product on my hands, but I still love it because it's a great way to prevent my hands from getting dried out, and the scent is just amazing.
I use this product mostly as an ingredient in home-made facial masks. Since it's concentrated you only need a few drops. It's great for fighting acne and oily skin. However, I find it really hard to dispense just a couple of drops. I wish it had some sort of spout or dropper instead of a wide mouth since you're not likely to just pour the whole thing out in one go.
Eye Makeup Remover -Trader Joe's - Spa 100% Pure Jojoba Oil

I love using this as a lip balm, or rubbing it on my elbows and knees where I really need moisture. It softens skin immediately. I also use it as an ingredient in home made facial masks, or I put it in my hair before I shower as a deep conditioner. It's great stuff and I don't know where else you'd find this but Trader Joe's.
The first time I used this product I was a little worried because I have oily skin. It doesn't do anything to combat oil, but I find it to be really good for my skin. I only use it at night before I go to bed (since I'm not going to be worrying about an oily face when I sleep!). I find that in the morning my skin looks very refreshed, and has that nice plump look. My skin is also acne prone and this moisturizer is gentle enough that it doesn't aggravate my acne at all. The pump on the bottle is nice, especially since you can turn it to lock in case you want to take it with you somewhere. If you read the ingredient label you will find that it contains a lot of really good stuff, including vitamin A (retinol) which is one of the best things for both acne and wrinkles. Like other Trader Joe's products it's affordable and natural.
Deodorants -Trader Joe's - Unscented Deodorant with Cotton
loveforsocks 9/1/2012 6:14:00 AM
I'm still on the hunt for a good natural deodorant. Unfortunately, this wasn't it. I liked that it doesn't smell as strong as most commercial deodorants, but it didn't do much to prevent sweat. It helped blocked odor for a little while, but it wears off fast. I'll just have to keep hunting....
Lotions/ Creams -Trader Joe's - A Midsummer Night's Cream-Unscented

Love this stuff! I experiment a lot with lotions, looking for just the right one. I always tend to stay away from anything containing mineral oil or petroleum, so I love Trader Joe's cosmetics since they tend to be more natural. This lotion is very affordable and it's great for using after you shave since it doesn't contain any fragrance that irritates the skin. It's moisturizing, but it doesn't quite make it to 5 stars because the moisturizing effect could last a bit longer (that is one drawback to using more natural products). I love the pun: "a midsummer night's cream." There aren't many stores with as much light-spirited humor as Trader Joe's. Also, the best thing about this product??? The pump that you can lock! I've always loved lotions that come with pumps, they're just much more sanitary. And finally someone thought to make a pump that locks so that if you want to take this with you on a trip you don't have to worry about lotion getting everywhere in your bag! Genius! Another great use is to mix this with a lotion that has a really heavy scent in order to dilute it a little bit.
This is the first cosmetic product I ever tried from Trader Joe's and I have been buying it again and again for several years. It is definitely the best shave cream I have ever used. It smells wonderful, it's natural, it's cheap, and its very moisturizing. Don't expect it to lather because it's not a shave gel. It comes out white but when you spread it on your leg it's clear. It has helped to reduce shaving irritation. My only complaint is that when you open the lid the product starts coming out before you even squeeze the tube, so be careful.
Cleansers -Trader Joe's - Nourish All in One Facial Cleanser

I read on a blog that this face wash was developed by a very well known dermatologist, and that it's actually exactly the same formula as a $50 face wash sold in the dermatologist's line of luxury skin care products. I don't know whether this is true or not, but I do love this product. It is very gentle and it doesn't sting my eyes at all. It makes my face feel squeaky clean without overdrying. It builds up a nice foam. I love that it's cheap. My only complaints are that unlike most Trader Joe's products it contains more preservatives, and when I rinse it off it feels like it leaves a residue, but I might just be imagining that. I would recommend this for people with oily and acne prone skin, like me. It has helped to keep my acne at bay, and since it's not stripping it doesn't overdry my face and cause my skin to produce more oil. Definitely a good buy!
This is my go to lip balm! I love the minty taste, and it provides the most moisture of any lip balm I've tried. It applies thin, which I like, but within minutes my lips feel a lot softer. I always carry one of these around with me. They're cheap, and they contain natural ingredients. I love Trader Joe's!
This shampoo smells nice and it's definitely tingly, as advertised. I bought it to help with my dandruff, and it did a good job. I definitely have fewer flakes and less itching. I love the smell, I love that it's cheap, and I love that it contains more natural ingredients than most shampoos. However, I have to use this as a supplement and not my primary shampoo because I find it doesn't really cut through oil that well, and I have really oily hair. So, I usually use something like Pantene first, and then follow up with the tea tree shampoo. Other uses might appreciate that this shampoo isn't as stripping because it won't damage or dry out your hair, but since my hair tends to build up oil and a kind of waxy residue I have to use a more stripping shampoo on a regular basis.
Conditioner -Trader Joe's - Refresh Citrus Conditioner

I'm a currently an unemployed grad student so I really have to watch my spending. I started buying cosmetics from Trader Joe's to save $. This conditioner is ok. I like that it has more natural ingredients than most conditioners you can buy at the drug store, and I like the smell. I only use a tiny bit because I have really short hair. It doesn't leave my hair with the same feeling as other conditioners because it's not pumped full of silicons. The natural oils help to soften hair, but it doesn't leave it with that super slick feeling. I can't say that it does anything spectaculuar like adds shine or volume, etc. But, it doesn't make my hair heavy or oily, and it's strong enough that my dry hair feels softened and moisturized after using it.
Styling Products -Garnier - Pure Clean Finishing Paste

It doesn't provide a strong hold, but I like it! So, after reading the negative reviews for this product I actually got up to go look at mine. When I bought it, I didn't notice that it said "strong" hold, and if I had noticed I wouldn't have bought it! The negative reivews are right, this definitely does not provide a strong hold. I like it because it gives my hair that texturized piece-y look without making it crunchy or sticky. My hair still feels pretty soft after using this, and the hold is definitely flexible. As with all Garnier products it smells wonderful, and it's budget friendly. It's not my favorite styling product (that's Got to Be creme pomade), but it's pretty good.

BEST POMADE EVER! I've tried several different pomades, and this one is definitely the best. It's even better than the more expensive one I tried from the "blow" salon line. It smells wonderful and it's cheap. You get a good amount of product, and the container is practical. And, most importantly, it makes my hair look fabulous. I applied it while my hair was still pretty wet. You only need to use a little bit. It doesn't leave a nasty sticky feeling on your fingers like a lot of other styling products, in fact it kind of feels like you applied lotion to your hands after you put this in your hair. It gave me that piece-y texturized style that I love and all I had to do was tousel it a little bit with my fingers after applying and then let it air dry. Also, my hair doesn't feel like it has any product in it, which is miraculous. It doesn't leave my hair with that stiff feeling you usually get with mousse or hairspray, it just looks natural. Don't buy this if you're looking for something that provides a really strong, stiff hold. It provides a nice flexible hold that lets hair look natural and feel soft. I will definitely buy more of this product once I run out.
