Masks -Sisley - Eye Contour Mask
lovedaisy 8/1/2011 8:20:00 AM
I use Sisley for my entire skin regimen, and the Eye Mask is among my favorite products ever. I use it at night as an overnight cream around my eyes, and other times of day when I my eyes are tired-looking and need TLC. The consistency is between and gel and cream, and it does reduce puffiness and does wonders to hydrate. I travel quite a bit and often I work 24 hour or overnight shifts, and this product is always in my carry-along case. I would not be without it. There is no effect at all on dark circles unrelated to puffiness, but I don't believe any product could help there. I am surprised at all the negative reviews and wonder if MUAers are getting products at discount over the internet? These are likely knock-offs despite the promises from the vendors. (I had a long era of frustration with Skinceuticals products this way, a story for another review.) Buying from a legitimate distributor such as Neiman Marcus or Saks, while painful to pay full price, has the benefits of generous samples from Sisley SAs, and you can return it if it truly causes a reaction. (This is harder to do at NM, whose return policy is rather stringent, but possible.) I end up with about double the product volume through samples from SAs.

Cleansers -Sisley - Phyto Blanc Lightening Foaming Cleanser

I have been using this cleanser twice daily for a month, and I love it. A cleanser can make or break a skin care regimen for me, and this one is perfect for my sensitive and acne prone skin. I am currently using Retin A and deliberately moved away from exfoliating cleansers from Kinerase, DermaDoctor (Wrinkle Revenge) and Murad (clarifying cleanser) because they were too drying and did not clean well (except for Murad, a really good cleanser). I use several products from Sisley along with this cleanser, and my skin has not looked this good in years (if ever). This cleanser foams lightly and cleans thoroughly without drying and leaves my skin soft. Importantly, it removes my water resistant sunblock. The packaging is hygienic and great for travel, and a little goes a long way. A great product!

Treatments (Eye) -Skinceuticals - Eye Cream
lovedaisy 5/31/2010 4:25:00 PM
Have been using a full skin care regimen from Skinceuticals for three years and find most of their products effective and worth the expense, but their eye products are just not much to talk about. The eye balm gave me milia and this lightweight treatment is just disappears into the skin... then nothing. No product can reverse congenital dark circles or bags, but this eye cream does not even feel good on the skin or leave a nice texture, much less offer hydration, temporary glow, puffy reduction or anything else.

Moisturizers -Skinceuticals - A.G.E. Interrupter
lovedaisy 5/29/2010 10:21:00 AM
I have been using a full regimen of Skinceuticals products for over three years with marked improvements. My oily, acne-prone and ruddy 42 year old complexion is smoother, more even, and very rare break outs are minor. I am finishing my first pot of this moisturizer, which lasted about 6 months, while keeping the rest of my regimen unchanged. I used this cream every morning, and the rest of my regimen included B5, Phlorcetin, Retexturizing Activator and Night time Oily. The consistency is thick but not greasy, and it leaves a neutral, neither shiny nor matte finish that is great for either going bare faced or under foundation. It does not otherwise have any immediate benefits that are visible to me, and compared with the Skin Firming Cream that I have used for 3 years, my skin is less radiant and less hydrated with the AGE Interrupter product. Although I cannot see in 6 months any marked improvements, I cannot speak for the long term benefits, which is the intention of a preventative product. In summary, nice product consistency and finish, it did not cause any acne or milia, but no dramatic short term effects, and I will not repurchase. I will return to the Skin Firming Cream, however, which gives me a hydrated glow and over three years has been part of a successful Skinceuticals regimen.

Masks -Ecco Bella - Organic Dark Chocolate Face Mask
lovedaisy 11/25/2007 2:25:00 AM
I have tried nearly every mask out there, including the high end variety, and I very much liked this one as it is a different from any other and smells sooo lovely. My oily skin usually fairs best with an absorbent clay mask, but this one is a nice addition to my collection. It really does smell and feel like chocolate fudge. After a few days in a dry, high altitude, I picked up this mask for some relief. It left my skin very smooth and soft. It is not an exfoliating mask, but it does have kaolin clay for drawing out oils. Overall, a gentle, moisturizing mask. Highly recommended as a luxurious break in your skin care routine.

Liquid -Chanel - Vitalumiere
lovedaisy 2/9/2007 7:15:00 PM
In the search for a foundation to wear for my wedding, I discovered Vitaluminaire after trying many others. It gives such a lovely and flawless finish that I've started wearing foundation every day after years of going with a bare face and Chapstick. It vanishes into the skin and truly appears as if I am not wearing foundation, but rather have been instantly blessed with the complexion of an angel just back from a spa vacation. This product delivers: The first day I rolled into work wearing this, baggy-eyed, grumpy and sleep deprived, a collegue interrupted herself to say "Oh, you look lovely!" Before that, about twice a week someone would randomly ask "Gee, are you post call?" No, but thanks for asking. More about the product: It feels wonderful and velevety on my skin, it is moisturizing but not oily and leaves a dewy glow that lasts throughout the day. My normal but acne-prone skin tolerates this formula well, but it may not be the best choice for overly oily skin as it is not an oil-control formula. Finally, if you touch your face a hundred times a day, it will wear off eventually. Otherwise, it does last. A touch of powder finish will set it solidly. A super product.
