Lotions/ Creams -Unlisted Brand - Astral Cream

I have quite sensitive skin and I struggle to find a moisturiser that doesn't leave it red and stinging. for some reason Astral is the only one i have found that works for me, even though it is perfumed. It sorts out my dry patches on my face and doesn't break me out. It really cheap too!I buy it from semichem and a giant tub lasts me months and months for only a few pounds. The only things i dislike about this moisturiser is that it can seem greasy u til it soaks in, and the packaging is not the most hygienic, a pump would be better. But at this price i can't really complain!

Love this hand cream! my hands are always sore and dry and this hand cream moisturises them but soaks in quickly enough that I can use it at work! Smells yummy too, and cheap!

Blush -Guerlain - Divinora Radiant Blush in Beige Chair

I quite liked this blush, natural colour, needs very little blending, very soft and silky. Kind of unremarkable peachy colour. Some reviewers not liking the fragrance of this but I love it, smells like sweets. Wouldnt buy again if it wasn't d/c though cos very expensive (I bought in sale)and not special enough to repurchase. Also hate the packaging, tiny amount of blush inside big case and pointless unuseable blush!

Mascara -Rimmel - Sexy Curves
rated 4 of 5
loulou04 1/8/2010 3:19:00 PM

Tried this after seeing it on pixiwoo. I have quite long lashes but they are straight and sexy curves definitely gives them a curl. Whether thats due to the weird shaped brush or not i dont know! I quite like the brush as it make it easy to grab all the tiny corner and bottom lashes without smudging, a bit like givenchy phenomenon mascara if you use the brush vertically. This is a nice deep black, but quite dry, which can make it dificult to apply more layers without clumping. However on one layer i find it seperates my lashes well, and can keep lashes separated if im very quick and careful. The prob with this mascara is it doesnt give a dramatic enough look for night time for my liking and is dry not glossy. it doesnt budge though! A good budget buy and my go to mascara when Im looking for a more natural look than diorshow

Lipstick -MAC - Lipstick in Plink
rated 4 of 5
loulou04 1/8/2010 3:13:00 PM

I really like Plink! I bought it on the spur of the moment when the Mac eyeshadow I was looking for was out of stock colour Its a pinky beige frosty and is a lustre finish so is quite sheer. initially when i bought it I felt it was quite drying and not very pigmented and didnt know if the colour or frosty finish suited my skintone. However after getting home, moisturising my very dry lips! and having an experiment I have grown to love this colour. It is very sheer but perfect for day or for a nude lip with dramatic eyes. I recently wore this with gorgeaous gold, Goldmine and humid smoked out with Carbon with loads of black liner and mascara on my eyes on NYE and it was the perfect nude lip. The lustre finish is good as you have the choice of going for a quite sheer application or dabbing on for a heavier coverage. The only thing is I imagine there will be a good dupe somewhere for a fraction of the cost! let me know if anyone knows any!

Concealers -BeneFit Cosmetics - Erase paste
rated 5 of 5
loulou04 1/8/2010 3:06:00 PM

Quite like this product. I have it in 02 and its great for brightening my under eye circles. I dont use it on my blemishes for them I use Boi-ing. its £18.50 for a small pot which will probably last quite a while but comes with a rubbish trowel type thing which i immediately flung away. I apply this with a mac concealer brush and pat in with my ring finger. It is very emollient and blends well. The only problem with this is if i apply too much it can settle in the creases and fine lines under my eye. I normally use boi-ing underneath to conceal the dark circles then erase paste to brighten and lighten the whole area.

Liquid -Chanel - Teint Innocence [DISCONTINUED]
rated 3 of 5
loulou04 1/8/2010 2:59:00 PM

Went to the chanel counter for my foundation on the basis of great reviews on here and pixiwoo. The SA recommended Teinte Innoncence for my dry but oily T Zone skin. Ive got 20 Clair and its a great match for my skin. It provide a light coverage but builds up to a medium coverage if required. This foundation dose not exacerbate my flakyness but i feel like it is sliding off my oily nose by the end of the day and comes off on my fingers. Have tried mac prep and prime skin under this which seems to reduce the problem but I think I will need to set this with powder also which is something I have never had to do with my dry skin. This foundation is very natural looking and feels great on the skin. The packaging is a bit of a nightmare, when i bought this I thought it would come in a bottle with a pump top like all the other chanel foundations but apparently not, it is in a heavy glass bottle which is not great for transporting and is very difficult to get the product out. It is also quite expensive at £28 but you do only need a tiny bit. Will update in a couple of weeks after experimenting with a couple of powders.

Masks -Eve Lom - Rescue Mask
rated 1 of 5
loulou04 1/8/2010 2:45:00 PM

I have combo sensitive skin with dry and oily patches and blackheads on the nose. Got this in a starter pack as I wanted to try out the eve lom cleanser and was advised by the SA to use the rescue mask once a week. Left my skin very tight uncomfortable and dry feeling, and in the morning MAJOR breakout of red spots that I very rarely get! NEVER used again, definitely didnt work for me!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Shroom
rated 4 of 5
loulou04 1/8/2010 2:41:00 PM

Hmmm I got this colour as a gift and it is something I never would have looked twice at being more attracted to the crazy colours mac has to offer! However, I find myself reaching for this on an almost daily basis, I use it as an all over was with something in the crease, or use it to highlight my brow, tearduct, even my cheekbones! It is a satin finish beige and is lovely and soft, goes on well, with a bit of shimmer. Got this in the pan form to put in my palette. Overall I would probably buy this again and it will be one of the first I run out of by the looks of things!

Blush -MAC - Dollymix
rated 5 of 5
loulou04 1/8/2010 2:34:00 PM

OMG i love this blush! looks scary and bright in the pan, but on my NC30 skin can be applied lightly for a soft flush or built up for a stronger pink look. I love layering fhis on top of my bobbi brown pot rouge in pink raspberry for a strong pink cheek that lasts all night. I think these mac blushes are great value as they cost £16.50 and I use dollymix at least 3 times a week, had it a year and nowhere near hitting pan yet!

Mascara -Christian Dior - Diorshow Mascara
rated 4 of 5
loulou04 1/8/2010 2:22:00 PM

I've had a few of this mascara now and while it is quite expensive, dries out quite quickly once opened and can flake, I continue to buy it because 1) It makes my lashes blackest black and glossy 2) It gives me the biggest lashes of any mascara so far! I will continue to use this for going out make up until I find something that can make my lashes so big black and shiny! If Dior sorted out the flaking issue it might be my HG!
