Eyes -E.L.F. - 32 shadow palette
rated 4 of 5

I have three of these, so obviously I like them lol. I have the warm one (neutrals and plums), the cool one (greens, pinks, and neutrals), and the colorful one (brights and a few neutrals). Surprisingly, my least favorite is the warm one, which I wouldn't really recommend (but even then it has a few stand out shades). The other two are fabulous though! One thing to keep in mind with these shadows is that they cost $5. They're probably not going to be rivaling MAC or Urban Decay anytime soon. But with a primer and in some cases a white base, these shadows pop. The colorful shades are the best, they're usually pretty pigmented in my experience. The matte shades can be a bit chalky, but they're workable. The warm palette gave me the most trouble, since half of the shades hardly show up, but the other two palettes are a joy to work with. There really is a good variety in these palettes, though a few of the grays end up looking the exact same when in use. With a primer they last pretty much all day. The packaging is very horrible indeed, I broke the lids on my warm and cool ones within a few weeks of purchasing them. Then again, they were only $5 dollars each. All in all, I wouldn't recommend the warm palette, but the other palettes are great! It's a great cheap way to try out a bunch of shades you never would've tried otherwise. These would also be a great stocking stuffer for any kid starting to get into makeup!

Lipstick -Rimmel - Lasting Finish - Frosted
rated 4 of 5
loudmouth 12/8/2012 9:44:00 PM

This is a really strange shade. It's an extremely frosty light gold color. I never wear it on it's own because I would look insane. However, on top of a warm pinky light brown lip liner, it transforms into a gorgeous shiny rose gold color. I've been looking for that kind of lip color for ages now, when it occurred to me to try layering a sheer lipstick over a lip liner. It worked! The combination of Jordana Easyliner for Lips in Tawny and this lipstick is freakin' stunning. I wear it when I don't want my lips to over-power my eyes but I still want my lips to pop a bit. The lipstick itself surprisingly isn't drying, which I expected since it's frosty. I'm not sure about it's lasting power by itself, but when I wear it on top of the lip liner it lasts all day. the packaging is your standard lipstick packaging, I just wish it was sealed! Other than that, no complaints, really.

Concealers -Milani - Secret Cover Concealer Cream
rated 4 of 5
loudmouth 10/19/2012 11:00:00 PM

i use this concealer in the shade 08 beige. it's the perfect color match for me. it's light with lots of yellow undertones. the consistency is pretty dry, i use my fingers to apply because the heat makes it easier to use. the coverage is medium, closer to high than low. i don't really use this on my undereyes because it makes them look kind of ashy (i apply a peach-toned concealer on my blue-based undereye circles, then apply a little bit of this concealer on top, with a bit of powder to set it all). instead, i use this kind of as a foundation! i use it to cover up any redness on my face and to generally even out my skintone. the finish is extremely natural, it doesn't look like i'm wearing any face makeup at all. i've been using this everyday for a few months now and i've barely made a dent. there is sooo much product in the tiny pot, it's a great value for your money. yes, the pot is unsanitary but i thoroughly wash my hands before doing my makeup so it hasn't been a problem for me. there's a great selection for women of color. i'm probably going to purchase a backup or two soon because i have a feeling milani's going to discontinue this...

Liquid -Rimmel - Match Perfection
rated 4 of 5
loudmouth 8/16/2012 8:51:00 PM

i bought this a while ago, in the shade 230 warm ivory. it's actually a pretty good match for my skin, the best i've had so far, maybe just a smidge darker, but it's not noticeable. when i first put this on, i loved it for being light-weight and dewy, which looked great on my dry skin. but after about an hour, my face was a streaky, flaky mess. i immediately shoved this to the side and stopped using it. but recently, i decided to give it another try and i'm glad i did! i'm guessing that my application this time around made a big difference. when i first used it, i had no moisturizer underneath and i used my fingers. i've started using it with a damp sponge (a beauty blender dupe, to be specific) and moisturizer underneath and it looks 100x better! it doesn't settle into fine lines or end up looking streaky now. the dewy finish is brilliant, i don't even need to use a highlighter with this foundation on. it has a light to medium coverage, but i would avoid attempting to build it up as that can make it look pretty cakey. it covers redness pretty well and doesn't emphasize my pores at all. it lasts all day on me, but all my foundations do, as i have pretty dry skin. it hasn't irritated my skin or broken me out, but my skin isn't very sensitive in general, so take that with a grain of salt. the packaging is pretty and looks nice on my dresser, but a pump would be nice. it has a nice range of shades for a drugstore brand. and of course, the price is right. i bought it for about $6 or $7 at walgreens. i'm definitely going to pick this up again! would recommend for people with dry skin who don't need much coverage.

Eye Shadow -Jordana - Color Effects Powder Eyeshadow Duo
rated 3 of 5
loudmouth 5/12/2012 12:44:00 PM

i have two of these, twofold and double impact. twofold consists of a blue based pink and a blue based purple with red sparkles (though the red sparkles don't really translate onto the lid). double impact includes a shimmery beige and a red based brown (which i love!!). i'm probably going to buy more soon, because these are pretty good for the price. i got them for about $2 each. when you swatch these without primer, they don't seem like much. but when you do add primer, they totally come to life! since i use primer anyways, i don't mind. they have good colors, and the shadows are very creamy. they also blend well. with primer, they last all day. even on my cheap jordana primer (which is also pretty good for the price of $1). the packaging is meh, it gets the job done. it's a little bulky. i almost broke one of the lids off by twisting it the wrong way. but keep in mind that they do cost $2, lol. now, i'm not gonna say these are the best drugstore eyeshadows. if you want the best, then spend another two dollars and get some wet n wild palettes. but these aren't bad either. if you have a good primer on hand, then these little duos are definitely worth it. i would give these 3.5 lippies if i could, btw, but i'll just round down to 3.

Lipstick -Revlon - Super Lustrous in Blackberry
rated 5 of 5
loudmouth 5/12/2012 12:19:00 PM

i've been looking for this color ever since i heard it was a dupe for mac dubonnet... seeing as i don't own dubonnet, i can't claim it is, but it looks really similar to the swatches i've seen online! this lipstick is lovely. it's a nice brown-toned neutral red that looks great on me, my mother, and all of my sisters! we all have different skin tones, so i think that attests to how universally flattering this lipstick is. this is especially good if you have a warm undertone. as usual for revlon lipsticks, blackberry is super creamy and pigmented. it has a creme finish, so it's not completely matte, nor shiny. i've heard that this shade is discontinued, or going to be... not sure how completely true that is. i found this lipstick at target, after not having been able to find it at walgreens or walmart. so yeah. i love this lipstick! it's the perfect red for me.

Mascara -Maybelline - Illegal Length Fiber Extensions
rated 5 of 5
loudmouth 2/25/2012 6:15:00 PM

this mascara is awesome! i love it. it's probably my HG. the packaging is nice, light-weight, and sleek. the formula isn't wet at all (which i like), but not too dry. the fiber extensions actually attach to my lashes and i see a visible change in my lashes after applying this. yes, it can get a little bit clumpy, but if you work fast in between drying times, then you can fix that. plus, some clumping is to be expected with fiber mascaras. this also really curls my lashes. some mascaras just make my lashes stick straight out. not this one! this really does lengthen my lashes. i don't really notice much volume, but that's not why i bought this mascara lol. i got this in the non-waterproof version, so i don't know how good the waterproof version is. but yeah, this mascara is definitely HG status! it is pretty expensive for a drugstore mascara though. i'll wait for a sale to stock up on this.

Lipstick -Wet 'n' Wild - Megashield Lip Color SPF 15
rated 4 of 5
loudmouth 2/24/2012 9:05:00 PM

i have these in two colors, It's a Girl (a bright watermelon pink with a slight frost finish) and Within These Adobe Walls (a nice neutral pink with a cream finish). these are actually really moisturizing. WTAW more so than It's a Girl, probably because of the latter's frost finish. they also aren't sheer, which is nice! i was afraid that these would just be glorified tinted balms, but they aren't! they don't last as long as a regular lipstick, though, which is excusable as these are meant to be moisturizing, not long lasting (if you want long lasting, go check out their MegaLast lipsticks). these are really comfortable and nice to wear. there a few cons. the packaging sucks, but then again it is only 3 dollars. most of the colors are extreeemely frosty, which is not my taste, but that's a personal preference. overall i do like these. but the two i have are the only wearable colors in my opinion. i just wish Wet 'N' Wild would release more of these in cream finishes! i'll probably repurchase the shades i already own, though.

Lipstick -Milani - Rose Hip #07
rated 4 of 5
loudmouth 2/21/2012 8:10:00 PM

this lipstick is like... highlighter pink. seriously. it is gorgeous. if you aren't one for bold, statement-making lips, then stay far far away from this lipstick! it is super pigmented and creamy. it isn't moisturizing at all, but it doesn't claim to be. there are only two downsides to this lipstick. A: the smell. if you are sensitive to smells, then you probably won't enjoy this lipstick. it has a very perfume-y smell, i'm not too fond of it, but i deal. B: it stains. badly. it will leave you with a pink-red stain the next day. this, honestly, i don't mind, because the stain is reeeally pretty (i think i may have to hunt for a lip stain in a similar shade). but it can get messy, and if you aren't careful when applying and get it outside of your lip line then, well, be prepared to fix that up with some concealer. over all, though, i love this lipstick. definitely a go-to of mine for a bold lip look.

Blush -Milani - Baked Blush - Terra Sole
rated 5 of 5
loudmouth 2/20/2012 10:52:00 PM

i absolutely adore this blush! the color is hard to describe. kind of a dusty mauve-y brown pink with a little orange in it?? i don't know, lol. but it's gorgeous on my skin. gives me a nice natural 'flushed' look. it can also double up as a bronzer if you're very fair. it leans a little on the warm side. like all milani baked blushes, it's extreeemely pigmented, so use a light hand (unless you're going for the 'lots of blush' look, in which case, go for it!). this blush is mostly matte, unlike the other shades in the range, so you don't get any glitter fallout. it is a liiittle powdery, though not as much so as the other shades. it goes on smooth, there's no patchiness at all. it wears all day, though there is some fading by the end of the day but that's inevitable isn't it? the packaging is okay... kinda clunky, but it works. though people with long nails will probably not be too fond of it, lol, it can kind of be a pain to open sometimes. it comes with a brush (i wouldn't use it, especially not for a blush this pigmented, but it's okay for emergencies or people who don't have brushes yet), and a mirror underneath the product (would've been more useful if it was in the top lid, imo). overall, i think this blush is fantastic, and it's definitely a staple in my collection!! i recommend it for medium warm skintones especially.

Lipstick -Cover Girl - Lip Perfection
rated 3 of 5
loudmouth 2/19/2012 11:30:00 PM

these lipsticks are really good. they are very creamy, non-drying (i wouldn't say they're explicitly moisturizing though), pigmented, smooth, etc etc. the packaging is nice and sleek. the color selection is great. i have this in Heavenly (a bright warm coral pink on me) and Delish (an orangey warm nude). so why not a five star rating? well... these are the worst smelling (and tasting) lipsticks i've ever tried. it is literally gag inducing. when i apply these full on from the tube, i get a headache. i have to apply a light layer, blot, apply another layer, blot, and so on, in order to diminish the smell. i am not exaggerating at all. i don't think of myself as being sensitive to smells (i wear Milani lipsticks and NYX round lipsticks with ease, and those smell a lot). but i can just barely handle these. i will buy a few more of these, if only because of the colors, but i would not recommend these to anyone with a low tolerance for smells in their lipsticks... if CG reformatted these to get rid of the smell, these would be my favorite drugstore lipsticks, hands down!

Eye Shadow -NYX - Black
rated 5 of 5
loudmouth 2/19/2012 2:57:00 PM

i rarely ever buy single shadows (i like to get more bang for my buck, so i stick with palettes most of the time) but i wanted a good matte black eyeshadow to use as a liner for days when i felt that liquid was too harsh. this definitely works! it is super pigmented, and i was sooo surprised at how creamy it felt. there isn't much to say about the color because, well, it's just a matte black lol. there are some super small, barely noticeable sparkles in the pan, but you don't notice them at all once applied. it does go on a little patchy, but what matte black doesn't? it's nothing a little primer can't fix! i haven't noticed any fall out when applying. the packaging works just fine, and it's very small, so it doesn't take up much space. overall, i'm super happy with this shadow. a good matte black is a staple that everyone should own, especially when it's this cheap!!

Liquid -Maybelline - Fit Me Foundation
rated 5 of 5
loudmouth 2/18/2012 11:17:00 PM

i loooove this foundation! it works great with my dry skin for the most part, although it does cling to some dry patches on my forehead sometimes...but my bangs always cover them, so i don't mind much at all. everywhere else on my face looks perfect and seamless with this foundation on. it really does let my skin breath. it has just enough pigmentation to even out my skintone and cover most of my imperfections. it doesn't look cakey at all, and it wears all day. when reviews said that it was dewy, i was prepared to look just a little too oily for my liking... as it turns out, the finish isn't all that dewy. it does have some shine, yeah, but it looks extremely natural and nice. then again, i do have dry skin, so people with oily skin may beg to differ. i have this in the shade 210, which is a liiittle too dark for my skin (like half a shade darker), so i'm going to get another bottle in the shade 130 to mix with it. 210 has just enough yellow in it for me though, and once summer comes along it will probably be a perfect fit! the fact that it clings to some dry patches on my forehead and that it doesn't have a pump are the only cons to this foundation. other than that, i really recommend it!

Lipstick -NYX - Round Lipstick Frappucino 632
rated 4 of 5
loudmouth 2/18/2012 11:01:00 PM

this is like a peachy pink brown color on me... super pretty! a very nice neutral everyday lip for people with warm undertones. it's very creamy so it wont drag when applied. despite this it can actually be kinda drying. it WILL emphasize your lip lines if you aren't careful. also it has a pretty gross soap smell, that lingers a little bit after you first apply it. but it goes away after fifteen minutes or so. it lasts about three hours on me, so average wear time for a lipstick. the packaging is okay, nothing special. the cap doesn't come off when i put it in my bag, like some other drugstore lipsticks (*cough rimmel and wet n wild cough*). overall i really like this lipstick, though it isn't perfect. i definitely recommend this to people with yellow/olive undertones!
