Concealers -L'Oreal - True Match Super-Blendable Concealer
lorrainapa 7/12/2005 1:36:00 AM
Don't bother. Just don't. I don't even have much to conceal since I'm old enough to be over zits, and (albeit slowly, thanks to fastidious use of sunscreen) moving on towards the wrinkle stage of life. I get slightly dark circles under my eyes that I like to brighten up with concealer. This does nothing. Nada. And it's glaringly, blindingly too light, which is really saying something, because I'm quite pale. HATE this.
Liquid -L'Oreal - Cashmere Perfect Foundation [DISCONTINUED]
lorrainapa 7/12/2005 1:27:00 AM
I wish I could say "maybe" in the "Would you buy this product again" section. I have a love/hate relationship with this foundation. The negatives: I hate the texture- feels slippery and greasy. I hate the scent, which to me smells like grease. Come to think of it, it looks and feels and smells like grease paint straight from the tube (which, by the way, is not the best packaging ever). The positives: decent coverage, most perfect match ever (Natural Ivory) and I've tried soooo many foundations, and my skin looks so smooth. It's not matte, not dewy, but somewhere perfectly in between. Definitely great on, but I find so much displeasure in the scent and texture, it may not be worth it. Still searching for something better.
Lotions/ Creams -Bissy's Boutique - Silky Body Butter in Egyptian Musk
lorrainapa 7/12/2005 1:04:00 AM
This is wonderful. It's a soft, clean musk that's not overpowering. Very pretty and very feminine. So different from heavy musks and soapy musks. It's a must try.
My favorite tart scent of all time. Clean and fresh, and perfect. I actually have this in a lotion and spray, too. :) It's softer than you'd expect in lotion, and I love the spray to spray my linens. Definitely a reorder- many times over.
Candles -Bissy's Boutique - Gingerbread Applesauce
lorrainapa 7/12/2005 12:59:00 AM
I love love love love love this scent. Perfect for fall, it's a fantastic blend of gingerbread and sweet apples. If you have sensitive skin, you may want to use it sparingly if you're using it on your body, since the spice notes definitely have a warming effect. Delicious scent, wish I could eat it!
Lotions/ Creams -Bissy's Boutique - Whipped Body Butter in Clean Crisp Air
lorrainapa 7/12/2005 12:57:00 AM
This is one of those scents that is probably best in tarts. It's very strong, and clean, much like a fresh laundry scent. I love laundry scents, and wear them often in lotion/sprays, but this one is probably best for tarts because of its intensity.
Fragrances -Suds and Light - Fizzy Pop featherlite souffle
lorrainapa 7/12/2005 12:46:00 AM
I had this in a Featherlite Souffle. It's definitely a cool lemon lime fragrance. It took a while for the "Fizzy" aspect to develop. It's a very nice summer scent, and is a little reminiscent of Fresh Lemon Sugar, though definitely not as sharp- it has the same kind of "cold" citrus whiff, without creaminess or brightness to it. I don't think I'd repurchase it in a souffle or mist/edp, but would make a fantastic scrub or soap scent.
I really love Purple Haze. The violet is soft and sugary, without powdery notes, and the chambord note is not alcohol-y. If you like Pink Sugar, I think you would like this one. It has a very sweet and sugary violet top note and a richness in the drydown.
Lotions/ Creams -Suds and Light - Cleopatra shea and aloe body cream
lorrainapa 7/12/2005 12:36:00 AM
I recieved this from a lovely MUAer who saw that I wanted to try it. It's a very pretty scent. I loved it- the 2 ounce jar was gone within a week. It's tart (red currant) and soft and dreamy at the same time with the Egyptian musk-a soft, clean musk. It's definitely unique, non-foody, and elegant.
Lotions/ Creams -Suds and Light - Sugared Blackberry Musk
lorrainapa 7/12/2005 12:33:00 AM
I love this scent. At times, Pink Sugar can be too sweet for me. I love the addition of blackberry musk, which adds a really sultry, musky note that I just love. I have this in the Shea Fluff (a HG) and EDP. It is mostly Pink Sugar with a Blackberry Musk background, so definitely expect PS, a little muskier and fuller bodied.
Skincare - Body -Bissy's Boutique - Roll On in Toasted Marshmallow
lorrainapa 5/31/2005 7:19:00 PM
This is SO good. Sweet, fluffy marshmallows. The scent is strong and lasts about 3 hours on me. One of my favorite scents of all time, and I'll always have it on hand.
Lotions/ Creams -Bissy's Boutique - Goat's Milk, Shea & Honey Lotion
lorrainapa 5/30/2005 2:17:00 PM
I absolutely love this formula. It's a thick, creamy lotion that leaves my skin very soft. It's packaged in a squeeze tube with a small hole in the dispenser so you don't end up with globs of lotion all over. Very nice and would definitely re-purchase (and I have, many times!)
Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - Matilda Maze Menagerie perfume oil roll ons
lorrainapa 5/30/2005 2:14:00 PM
I have several scents from MMM in roll-on form. They are nice and strong, in a dry oil base, which is nice, they leave no oil feel on your skin. They are smaller than other roll-ons, which is really ok with me, since I rarely finish a roll-on. It's in a white plastic tube, which doesn't look fabulous, but I don't display roll-ons anyway. I think I prefer MMM roll-ons over the mists, because the scent is crisper and truer in this form.
This is the ONLY oily scrub I like. There is just enough oil to coat each grain- there's no sea of oil. I like the size of the grains for heavy duty exfoliation, and I like the fact that they don't dissolve on contact, the grains kept going and going. The amount of scent is great, too. The scent lingered nicely on my skin. I could smell it in my bathroom all day! I got this in Cucumber Mint, which was invigorating and very cleansing. The scent, by the way, is fairly light on the cucumber with a nice amount of mint. Would also be excellent for tarts, body wash, or shampoo. I ordered a solid perfume stick in this scent because it makes a great aromatherapy sort of scent to energize and refresh. Loved the scrub, and I will definitely repurchase.
Very nice body cream that holds scent wonderfully. It's similar to Suds & Light's Featherlite formula. It's a thinner body cream, in the middle between CYS lotion(light and gel-like) and emollient(super thick). It's packaged in a 4oz jar with silver screw top lid. I find the texture perfect for summer. I have tried the following scents in this formula: Green Tea (beautiful, fresh, and light); Peach Cake- light almondy sponge cake notes with tart/juicy/sweet canned peaches and some light whipped cream note whiffs- really true and delicious; Geisha- beautiful soft floral with amber/myrhh, and Whipped Cream- one of my favorites of all time. I love all of CYS' lotions and creams. They last a long time, and are very concentrated, so a little goes a long way.
