Liquid -Cover Girl - Queen Collection All Day Flawless 3-in-1
rated 5 of 5

Initial reaction: I can't stress how exciting it is to walk into a drug store and have a difficult time finding your shade of foundation because there's so many to choose from. Yes the Cover Girl Queen Collection gets a major round of applause for having many colors for brown people. While it's not perfect it's a giant step forward. Color Sections: I usually wear NARS Sheer Glow foundation in Macao but at 44.00 a bottle it's not economical. I had tried other foundations but they did have a shade that fit my undertones. Revlon Cappucino was to orange and dark and Loreal's True Match also had the wrong undertones. However the Queen Collection Q840 Almond Glow was the perfect undertone for my skin. As a matter of fact it's the same as Nars Macao. Texture/Application: The application was great the texture is smooth. Final Result: Much like the Sheer Glow it dries in Matte Finish it looks perfect. This foundation also didn't dry my skin out. Recommendation: I would definitely recommend this foundation for one you can find it at a drugstore or a Walmart. Also these stores have great return policies and are easier to deal with than say a Sephora or Department Store.

Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - I Love Matte Palette
rated 5 of 5
londonhermit 2/29/2012 3:59:00 PM

This is a palette of 8 matte shadows. The formula for all the shadows are great they go on smooth and blend nicely. I like matte shadows because I use them in my crease for all my looks so this is a staple in my eyeshadow collection.

Eye Shadow -Victoria's Secret - Unstoppable
rated 2 of 5
londonhermit 2/29/2012 3:51:00 PM

Victoria Secret periodically puts out limited edition eyeshadow set. I brought this quad during the month of February 2012. The packaging is very girly. It's in a pink and gold case with the letters VS on the front. On the inside is a mirror the size of the compact and and five tones and shades of purple. There is a mauve color, a dark puprle, a violet purple, a lilac and greyed out pink. The colors of this set on Victoria's secret website are deceiving and If possible I would see them in person. The dark purple shade is not very soft and pigmented believe it or not. The light lilac shade is frosty put pigmented, the mauve tone is soft and pigmented. The pink shade is like the lilac as is the violet. The colors last a decent amount of time. I wore them for five hours and then they began to crease. The quad was twenty dollars which is great since you get a beautiful compact with five colors to experiment with.

Eye Shadow -Almay - Intense i-color shadow stick
rated 1 of 5
londonhermit 2/29/2012 3:34:00 PM

I have the two of these shadow sticks in the colors geared toward hazel and brown eyes. I brought them when they were on promotion at my local CVS. I basically brought them to add to my collection of "primers" used to brighten eyeshadow. The color pay off on my NW45 skintone is ok the for brown eyes stick is not as vibrant as the one for hazel eyes. These sticks don't help the shadow last long and didn't las long on their own; they creased horribly within hours. Even when I put powder over them they still creased. I wouldn't recommend them.

Polishes -OPI - Vampsterdam
rated 3 of 5

This polish was apart of OPI's spring Holland collection. I was excited buy this vampy purple especially when I saw swatches from my favorite nail bloggers. Well I was let down. The color is a shimmery raisin. The formula pulled a lot I had to apply 2 very thin coats. Then color itself was completely different on the nail. I turned out it was more like a brown raisin than a plummy raisin. Also the shimmer wasn't as prevalent as it looked in the bottle.

Liquid -Maybelline - Fit Me Foundation
rated 5 of 5
londonhermit 2/16/2012 3:44:00 PM

I have this foundation in Coconut. The color match is ok it can be a little orangey but MAC does the same thing to my skin. I like the coverage as well but I m the type that likes a more natural coverage so I don't look overly made up. The price was also decent I only paid 7 dollars and change. I have very dry skin and the consistancy of this foundation is semi thick. I did tend to empasize my dry patches. Overall it's a good foundation especially for Maybelline.

Liquid -L'Oreal - True Match Super-Blendable Makeup SPF 17
rated 2 of 5
londonhermit 2/13/2012 2:48:00 PM

I brought the L'Oreal True match in Cappuccino and in Creme Cafe. I had a hard time finding my true color in this foundation and unfortunately mixing these two foundation didn't work either. Cappuccino has to much orange and Creme Cafe had to much yellow. So there's really no match for me. Next the foundation seemed to just sit on my skin and not blend I tried a few brushes and could not get this foundation to blend. A combination of off color matches and poor consistency llead me to a 2 rating. However if you have almost perfect smooth skin and can find you color match this could be a founation for you.

Lipstick -Cover Girl - Soulmate
rated 3 of 5
londonhermit 3/6/2011 8:56:00 PM

Soulmate is placed in the burgandy/plum family by covergirl. On my dark pigmented lips it comes off as a pink with too much shimmer. The color in the tube is very pretty but on my lips it just doesn't look good. I'm finding that the swatches on the bottom of the tube don't match what's inside the actual tube.

Lipstick -Cover Girl - smitten
rated 4 of 5
londonhermit 3/6/2011 8:52:00 PM

This lip color is a part of the lip perfection line. Smitten on my dark pigmented lips comes off as a mauvy purple. It feels good on- not heavy, or smelly and it doesn't have a gross taste. After wearing it I still need a lip balm as my lips are supper dry. I also found that it was difficult to find a color because the swatches at the end of the tube are not true to what's inside the tube.

Eye Shadow -NARS - Galapagos single
rated 5 of 5
londonhermit 3/6/2011 8:47:00 PM

This is a great color, Nars describes it as a rich brown with gold flecks. The gold flecks don't really show up on my skintone, however the color is rich and applies evenly. The color lasted all day on my lids. If you own NARS' Cordura I would skip this color as well as fez because these four colors are very similar.

Eye Shadow -NARS - Fez
rated 5 of 5
londonhermit 3/6/2011 8:43:00 PM

I brought fez because I wanted to see how the NARS single eyeshadow faired against the duo's. Fez is a golden color with more yellow undertones. It applies smoothly and last all day with a base. I like that the color you see in the pan is the color you get on your eyes. However if you own Cordura theres really no need to buy this or galapagos because the colors are so similar.

Polishes -China Glaze - First Mate
rated 5 of 5
londonhermit 2/27/2011 12:05:00 PM

I agree with the reviewer who said the color was a neutral toned navy. This color does have almost a greyness to it the whole collection did. This color is limited addition and apart of a nautical theme. The formula was thick but not unmanegable so I used two coats. However on me the color was not right the undertone was off. However it's still a great color.

Nails -Orly - witch's blue
rated 5 of 5
londonhermit 2/27/2011 11:38:00 AM

Orly's witch's blue is a shimmery dark rinse jean blue. I hesitated buying it because I own so many blues: essies midnight cami, china glaze little drummer boy, and Orly's la playa. However witch's blue is unique its not as dark as little drummer boy and midnight cami and not as purple as la playa. The shimmer in the polish lifts the color to gives it a bright uniqueness. The application was fine not to thick or thin and I used 3 coats because I wanted the color in the bottle.

Polishes -China Glaze - Below Deck
rated 5 of 5
londonhermit 2/25/2011 2:46:00 PM

This is my farovite shade from the anchors away collection. At first I didn't want to buy it because I thought I thought i had shades like it. The color is a like a mushroomy tuape. I used one coat and seche vite on top. The application was great hence the one coat. I need to go back and see if their another bottle.

Polishes -Orly - Royal Velvet
rated 5 of 5
londonhermit 2/21/2011 6:17:00 PM

This is a great color from Orly's spring collection. At first I thought this color would have a bruised effect but it's beautiful. It's not as duo chrome as I thought it would be but more like a peacock effect. The colors it flashes are violet andpeacock blue. The application was fabulous as well; usually I hate the application of Orly nail polish. I used two coats for full coverage. The Orly spring collection is my favorite so far.
