Foundations -Unlisted Brand - Lucy Minerals Foundation

I love Lucy Mineral Foundation. When compared to my Bare Essentials Starter Kit, Lucy minerals looks waay more flawless and covers up my acne scars much better. Tips for new mineral makeup users: Buy the appropriate brush, it makes a huge difference. Make sure that you buff foundation into your skin to create that naturally flawless look that stays put all day. I buff the foundation into my skin in small circular motions for around 2 minutes before applying a second layer and repeating the process.

Liquid -Estee Lauder - Double Wear (old formula)
lojo699 8/4/2010 12:43:00 AM
Favorite foundation ever! Everytime I wear it (which is every day since I can't live without it) I get compliments on my skin. My best friend just the other day (who knows what my skin looks like W/O the makeup...and it's not the greatest..) was mesmerized at how "flawless" my face looked. We went out to the mall later that day so she could buy herself a bottle too. My favorite feature about this foudation, and what drove me to buy it, was it's double stay power. It truely lasts alll day, giving you a freshly applied look even 8 or 9 hours into your day. I come home at night after a full day (8-8) of class, work, and hanging out with friends, and to my delight, my foundation is still looking flawless. I also love the coverage this foundation provides. I have acne-prone skin and this foundation virtually erases them. Highly Recommend. Priced at about 34 dollars. (It's pricey, but worth it!) Update: As much as I love this foundation, it made me break out like crazy. And my skin is normally clear. My best friend ALSO started breaking out to the point where she had to pay a visit to the dermatologist to figure out what the heck was wrong. We later drew the connection to our foundation. I do not recommend you wear this foundation every day. I still appreciate it's staying power and would use it for a night out, however daily use just killed my skin.

Mascara -Tarte - Lights Camera Lashes
lojo699 5/30/2010 10:46:00 PM
Hi there, I agree with the reviews where it wasn't the best product, but certainly not the worst. I actually quite liked it compared to other mascaras I have bought (and I've tried a ton, from ALL of the Diors to Maybelline full n soft.) This one gave great length and did not clump at all, it was also easy to layer multiple coats as there was no clumping, however, my biggest complaint was how quickly it dried and became flaky. Within 2 weeks, it no longer had the smooth, lengthening affect. I'm still looking for that HG mascara but this one is in my top 5. I recommend this for people looking for a daytime-but-better look, but also have the $ to repurchase every 2 weeks!

Primer/ Corrector -Laura Mercier - Foundation Primer

Love this primer for 2 reasons: It helps my foundation stay on twice as long. Secondly, my foundation applies a lot smoother onto my face for a flawless finish. A staple for my makeup bag.

Foundations -Maybelline - Dream Matte Mousse

I love this foundation in that it goes on smoothly and effortlessly with great coverage. My only concern is the lasting power. It begins to wear off within a couple of hours. However, it works better then many expensive department store foundations.

Mascara -Yves Saint Laurent - Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils
lojo699 4/23/2010 8:03:00 PM
The reason I gave this product 2 stars is because it did not do what I was looking for. I wanted big, bold and curly eyelashes but this gave me a very natural look instead. It was excellent in that it seperated every lash, and did not clump, however it offered very little in terms of volume or curl. If you are someone looking for a dramatic lash, this is NOT the mascara for you. That said however, if you're looking for an excellent day time look, you will like this mascara.

Misc Beauty Tools -Unlisted Brand - National (Panasonic) heated eyelash curler
lojo699 9/23/2009 2:09:00 PM
I would like to add my review of this product as it is quickly becoming my favorite eyelash curler. First, some background about myself: I am an eyelash curler fanatic and have tried every curler on the market, manual and heated. The eyelash curler can really open up the eyes and make them look 2x larger, if done properly. While on my quest to find my HG eyelash curler, I came across a review of this product and decided to order it. I have been using the curler for a couple days now and I love how it creates a dramatic curl that lasts all day. The curler itself is a little bulky and harder to handle then a manual, but I quickly got the hang of it. What I love about this curler is how easily it curls your eyelashes. Heated curlers tended to melt off my mascara leading to goopy eyelashes while manual curlers I had to hold and press for almost a minute and repeat the process in order to create a good curl. So far, all I need to do with the National is hold for a couple seconds and release, and I'm left with a great curl. I will write an update in several weeks. The price is expensive, but It's worth it.

Tools -Sephora - sephora professional mini heated eyelash curler
lojo699 8/27/2009 10:17:00 PM
This product did very LITTLE for my eyelashes after applying mascara. The curler did not heat up enough to create a curl and what little curvature it gave my eyelashes flattened out within a couple minutes. Do not waste 12 dollars on this curler, it does nothing for your eyelashes.

Styling Products -Living Proof - No Frizz Wave Shaping Curl Defining No Frizz Styling Cream for Medium to Thick Hair
lojo699 8/19/2009 11:06:00 AM
I use this product in my curly hair before flat ironing and it cuts the time it takes to straighten my hair in half. Not to mention It smells great- like orange tictacs. What's best about this product is that it doesn't leave my hair oily like other frizz smoothing producs have done.

Foundations -Almay - Almay Pure Blends Mineral Makeup
lojo699 4/14/2009 4:09:00 PM
I am reviewing the Almay Pure Blends 97.4% natural hypoallergenic foundation. I would classify this foundation more as a tinted moisturizer since it does not offer much in the form of coverage. That is the reason I took two lipsticks off. If heavy coverage of pimples, wrinkles, etc is your top priority, this is not the product for you. That said however, this is a great product for the spring and summer months. It feels like a creamy moisturizer and not heavy/cakey foundation. I recommend this product for those days you want to appear like you're not wearing makeup, but you will want your skin looking radiant. This product adds just a touch of color and coverage by gets my support for making my skin look soft, clear and radiant.

Misc Beauty Tools -Unlisted Brand - Koji - Eyelash Curler NO. 73
lojo699 1/30/2009 6:16:00 AM
I like this eyelash curler a lot. In my opinion (and I am an eyelash curler fanatic-tried them all) the Koji 73 beats out Shu and Shiseido. I love the curvature of this curler. It's slightly wider than the Shu and Shiseido and fits across my eyelash line perfectly. The price is very cheap. I ordered mine online for $7. (the Shu and Shiseido retail for about $19) I can't really comment on the life-span as I've only been using the curler for 3 weeks. However, the curl holds throughout the day. It's not a spectacular eyelash curler, but it definitely gets the job done with as little hassle as possible. If you are looking for something awesome though, I'd try the Suqqu curler. It's Miraculous.

Misc Beauty Tools -Suqqu - eyelash curlers
lojo699 1/27/2009 5:25:00 PM
I received the Suqqu curler in the mail this morning and so far, I LOVE IT. The curvature of this curler fits my lash line perfectly. It's flatter than both the Shiseido and Shu. (I'm half Asian and have trouble fitting the curvier curlers along my lash line) I also noticed that the pad is flat, not mushroom shaped like the Shiseido or Shu. I'm not sure what difference it makes-I haven't noticed one yet, but I'll write an update if I do. At the moment, It's only sold in Japan and the UK so I had to order this product through ebay. All in all, I am incredibly pleased with this curler and rank it above the other brand-name curlers

Misc Beauty Tools -Shiseido - MAQuillAGE Eyelash Curler
lojo699 1/12/2009 11:16:00 AM
This eyelash curler is of great quality (it is a Shiseido curler after all) but a bit too flat for my eyelid. I'm Asian and have found the Shu as well as Shiseido The Makeup curlers too curved for my eyelid. I was hoping the Maquillage curler would be just the right curvature but it's WAY to flat and pinches my eyelid as a result. I'm still looking for a median between my The Makeup curler and the Maquillage.

Styling Products -Frederic Fekkai - Coiff Oceanique Tousled Wave Spray
lojo699 1/12/2009 11:00:00 AM
I LOVE this product! It's the only thing on the market that works for me. I have curly hair that is prone to frizz and fly-aways. After getting out of the shower, I spray a little onto my wet hair, scrunch and air dry. Instead of my curls drying into a nest of frizz, I have defined curls and waves. If you have curly or wavy hair that is also frizzy (and you don't like the feel of crunch, flaky gel in your hair) I'd give this product a try. It's pricey, 21 dollars, but WORTH it.
