Well.. I'm stumped ... I can't figure out why people love this fragrance so much, all it smells like to me is lemons.. that's it, no sweetness, no wonderful hidden notes waiting to arrive after it settles into my skin.. just lemons. I don't find it offensive or horrible, I just find it boring and I could cut a lemon in half and rub it on my wrist for free if I wanted to smell like Light Blue .. obviously people do love it, I just don't know why. Also it has no staying power and was almost gone from my wrist within the hour of spraying it. If you like citrus, light, and "worn off in the hour" scents then give this a go. If you like something complex, sexy and deep with layers of different notes... don't bother with this one
Ok, so my first reaction to smelling this scent I HAD to have it... bought it... regret it. The reason being that at first it's sweet and almost powdery but in a nice warm way... then there is this "other" note, spicy(almost pepper like) and then sickly and then I feel nauseous. I really wish I could wear Candy for more than 30seconds but once I put it on I just can't wait to wash it off so the spicy/peppery note will go away and take my nausea with it. It's very possible that this scent simply does not agree with my body chemistry and this goes from being a warm, kind, beautiful princess in a bottle to a nasty, evil, sickening witch on my skin! haha EDIT:::: I've decided this fragrance smells like cigarette smoke and sickly caramel ... that's it. No thanks.
I love this! I use the aqua black as a "gel/cream" liner and this works great for that purpose, I have also used it as an eyeshadow base for a dark smoky eye and as an eyeshadow on its own ... WOW! it works so well as all of these, it really is an "all in one" type of product. It doesn't budge at all! and is also super pigmented and really smooth, glides on like a dream. I have been a long time user and lover of Bobbi Brown gel liner in Black ink but I think this has definitely become my new must have gel liner!.. I have only been using this for 3 weeks so may edit my review based on how long it lasts in the pot before it starts to dry up.. lets see! but I say go and pick it up you won't be disappointed :)
I love this blush, Blush baby is a sheertone so it gives you the option of wearing it very sheer or building it up rather than going on heavy and having to blend it out a tonne. I love MAC's sheertone blushes. This one in particular is great for a 'natural' flush of colour, nothing dramatic and I think unlike a lot of blushes this one WILL work well from very fair skin to medium-tan skin tones depending on how much you build it up (I am between nc25 and nc30) this is the perfect effortless blush and very much an everyday, wearable colour. plus it is matte too so if you want something subtle with no shimmer grab this one! LOVE IT!
I love this cleanser, i use it every night and it really does take off all of my makeup, it is safe to use on the eye area although i don't use it to remove eye makeup. It leaves my skin feeling clean and fresh, not tight and dry. My skin is combo/oily, I don't find that its over drying and also doesn't break me out. I also really love this because its all natural and there are no nasty parabens or harmful cheap preservatives. My ONLY massive peeve is the packaging, It needs a pump! when will companies learn to put pumps on their products?! .. regardless I will definitely re-purchase this product .. and maybe I'll buy my own pump bottle to pour it into! haha
I really wish that i could see what all the hype was about this Guava shower gel, to me it smells very little of guava and very much of coconut (I'm not usually a fan of anything that smells like coconut) .. this is very nice on the skin and there is enough lather that i do feel clean and fresh, i just don't like the scent, however my partner loves the scent and it fades almost instantly after you shower, so since my partner loves it, he is more than welcome to use it! haha. I want to try the jasmine one but who knows... it might smell like bananas or something random like the Guava one does! .. not a re-purchase for me Im afraid.
Liquid -Make Up For Ever - Mat Velvet PLUS Matifying Foundation
loiseva1988 11/14/2011 5:17:00 AM
OK... let me start by saying i am IN LOVE with the coverage and finish of this foundation and the packaging is good too. I've been using this for over a week and a half now, when i first tried it i was in love, Iv'e always been a Revlon colorstay devotee but i was bored and wanted to try something new.. anyway, my skin is combination but never too oily or too dry, I never break out badly (I only get the odd pimple every now and then) my only real skin issue is that i have a lot of redness on my cheeks and nose and this foundation fixed most of the redness with some help from a little concealer it gave me a flawless face.... BUT NOW one week later I have broken out in sore cystic pimples, i have about 3 between my eyebrows (weird i know!) and another 3 around my mouth and chin area.. may I repeat that i hardly EVER break out and never get deep cystic ones, I don't even know what to do to help pimples like this!! I'm sooo annoyed because of the price and i LOVE this foundation but something in it obviously does not agree with my skin ... my guess is some type of silicon/silica :( only reason it gets 3/5 lippies is for giving me the worst break outs I've ever had
Blush -Too Faced - Brightening Blush - Mocha Mi Amore
loiseva1988 10/10/2011 6:10:00 PM
I love this Too Faced blush in Mocha Mi Amore, i would describe this blush as a medium bronze with a subtle plum-ish undertone, this is a really nice neutral blush on me (NC30), just gives my cheeks a nice bronzed sheen and is easily build-able for a more obvious wash of color. The thing i like the most about this (and other Too Faced blushes, i have Pinch my Petals, Papa don't peach and La Vi En Rose aswell) is that they don't have 'glitter' or a tonne of shimmer, it just gives a very healthy sheen to your skin... love it :) and also love the cute packaging and that it has a magnetic closure. A great blush to have :)
I do like this blush, however i have to really pack it on to even see it show up at all on me (NC30) .. i think on a girl with pale/fair skin this would be gorgeous, on me its just hard to see so i have to build it up a lot but i do like it, only reason i wouldn't buy it again is because it doesn't show up well. The packaging is really cute (like all the too faced blushes) with a small cardboard box that is magnetized and has a little mirror in the lid. I love the formula, its not 100% matte but its not glittery or shimmery either, just leaves a nice healthy sheen to the skin. Over all, this is a nice blush just not a "must have" for me.
I have to say this may not look like the most exciting shade (a basic dark brown, pretty much matte shade) but for me this is the most used and re-purchased "must have" eyeshadow from MAC .. I use this everyday for my eyebrow color (i have dark brunette hair and brown/black eyebrows) this shade could not be more perfect for my brows (i have seen that many other people use Concrete for this purpose also) BUT THEN it is also a great crease color when i do a brown/gold smokey eye look and sometimes i like to wear this all over my lid and blend it out as a 'one color look' i have bright green almost yellow/green eyes and this looks great!.. I can not ever be without concrete and if MAC was to discontinue this i would be lost!! will continue to re-purchase ....forever! love it!
Im not sure why this lipstick just doesn't work for me.. i think i either have the wrong skin tone (NC30) or maybe I'm just not used to wearing colours like this one. I love the formula of the cremesheen lipsticks and i love the typical MAC vanilla scent, however this colour on me looks like a muted orange with a hint of pink.. so i guess, a pale coral colour, im more of a red lippy girl so i think maybe i just need to work with this a bit more and get used to paler shades, it must have all these good reviews must be for some reason!
I am just getting into The Balm products and I love this product, it is the perfect contour shade, its has no shimmer at all (which i like) and it is a true brown, has no pink or orange undertones, the only thing i will say is it can look a little muddy/dirty f you don't blend it enough or if you use to much, it is very pigmented so i advise a light hand at first and simply build it up if need be (much easier to add more if you want it than to take off if you apply to much!) .. i love the packaging (i have Bahama mama bronzer and the Sexy mama finishing/setting powder) and they are both just too damn cute, the little case closes with a magnet so it wont flip open and go everywhere in your bag! and it has a cardboard sleeve that it slips inside of also. great product and i think a reasonable price, love it and would repurchase. For reference i am NC30 and this a perfect shade on my skin tone, maybe 2-3 shades darker than my skin which is great for a contour shade :)
Primer/ Corrector -Make Up For Ever - HD Microperfecting Primer
loiseva1988 6/10/2011 12:32:00 AM
Wow! i LOVE this primer, It makes my skin feel super smooth and i love that its not greasy or 'silicone feeling' (like smashbox PhotoFinish) i have tried more than a few primers and they are all 'so so' compared to this, I love that MUFE primer feels more like a lotion or light moisturizer rather than most primers usually do... this makes my foundation go on so smoothly and gives my skin a nice dewy finish... i love it, my Smashbox primer will be in the drawer collecting dust from now on haha MUFE HD primer is my new HG
Arrgh! I just have to say this because it is driving me crazy! Ooookay, people that are using this as an eyeshadow primer and then complaining that it 'creases' and 'doesn't make eyeshadow look better or last longer" you are using this product for the COMPLETELY wrong purpose. There is a reason this product is yellow, in the makeup world yellow, orange and green are used to reduce and correct blue, purple or red discoloration/ purple veiny eyelids/ dark undereye circles etc... the purpose of this product was never and is never meant to be used as an eyeshadow primer/base.. *THE CORRECT WAY TO USE THIS*::: Take some Lemon-aid and lightly tap it on the dark area under your eye or on your eyelids and ONLY in the area that is discolored (and the trick is to not use to much and make it cakey) THEN apply your usual concealer over the top so it blends in with your skin color. This product is great IF and WHEN it is used for the correct purpose. love it and would buy again
ohhhh! i love this! i have finally found my HG red lippy, i have more red lipsticks than i can count and although i like most of them i can't say i reach for any of them often.. but this one is the exception.. on me (nc30) this shade looks stunning, its alot darker than the pic shown here though, more like a deep red-ish dark pink haha hard to describe really, but it is gorgeous! i love mac lipsticks they are so creamy and nice to wear, this is just one of those must have shades, i love it!! will definitely repurchase
