Eye Shadow -Mally Beauty - Evercolor Shadow Stick - Taupe
lnajaar 5/24/2013 6:45:00 PM
I got this shadow in Taupe and Twilight. Twilight was too frosty for me. Taupe was PERFECT. Just the barest amount of shimmer - enough to give it dimension without really looking like a shimmer shadow. This is the perfect color if you want to use just one shadow. Somehow, it's not too dark for my lids, yet it creates a soft shadow in the crease. You can put it on lighter or deeper to get a graduated two-tone effect. The primer is built in, and the staying power is great. Goes on effortlessly and not having to use a brush is refreshing. You have 30 seconds to blend till it sets, but you won't need more time because it blends so easily. Gives a very smooth look. This shadow is perfect for travel, or for anyone who likes makeup application to be fast and streamlined. Expensive at $25 a pop, but worth it if you want less stuff to fiddle with in the morning. Cruelty-free - not tested on animals.

Brows -FLOWER Beauty - Raise Some Brows Defining Brow Pencil - Blonde
lnajaar 2/26/2013 7:02:00 AM
Got this brow pencil for a friend who requested it. She liked it for the same reason the reviewer below hated it. She's a strawberry blonde and this pencil has a reddish-blonde color. She was surprised and thrilled because it's a hard color to find. Flower also has a brow pencil in Light Brown which MIGHT work for those looking for a Taupe. Flower is not tested on animals and is made in the U.S.A.

Lipstick -FLOWER Beauty - Sheer Up Lip Tint
lnajaar 2/24/2013 7:58:00 AM
This is Flower's version of a lip crayon which is so popular now. I have tried three colors. Lacy Laurel - a rose-pink with a hint of coral. Bare Blush - a transparent Barbie pink with shimmer. Dewy Rose - a deep dramatic rose. These go on as a creamy sheer with a very subtle sheen. There is plenty of pigment except for the Bare Blush. I find these to be more moisturizing than Clinique's version, which always dried out super fast on me. I wear this when I want my lips to have color and look polished, yet subtle. The Lacy Laurel turned out to be a staple for a YLBB look. The Bare Blush seemed like something a young woman would wear in a club paired with smokey eyes. The Dewy Rose was too dark for me, but is beautiful if that's what you're looking for. Flower never tests on animals and is made in the U.S.A.

Eyeliner -FLOWER Beauty - Easy On The Eyes Long Wear Eyeliner
lnajaar 2/24/2013 7:32:00 AM
This is a retractable pencil eyeliner that comes in eight colors - Black, Brown, Khaki Shimmer, Aubergine, and Navy. I chose the Khaki Shimmer, which is a greenish-taupe color with shimmer. It's very pretty and the shimmer isn't obvious when applied. The BEST part is that this liner glides on super easy and stays on. I threw out my old standby for this because it turned out to be a Holy Grail. Flower is never tested on animals and is made in the U.S.A.

Lipstick -FLOWER Beauty - Lip Service Lip Butter
lnajaar 2/24/2013 7:14:00 AM
I've tried three of the Flower lip butters and a friend has tried two of them. Princess and The Peony - a rose-pink with a hint of coral. Petal to The Metal - a very cool light mauve-pink-violet. Rosey Future - a deep dramatic rose. Haute Honeysuckle - a subtle nude-peach. Snapdragon - a medium-deep red-coral. These are very moisturizing and go on like a dream with a beautiful finish. There is more color payoff and less shine than the L'Oreal balms and these cling to the lips better, so they last longer. You will still feel some hydration after drinking something, but will need to reapply after eating a meal. Flower is never tested on animals and is made in the U.S.A.

Lipstick -FLOWER Beauty - Lip Service Lip Butter in Princess and The Peony
lnajaar 2/24/2013 7:01:00 AM
Princess and The Peony is a holy grail lip butter for me. The color is rose-pink with a hint of coral. It's a beautiful YLBB color that brightens my whole face. I've received compliments wearing it. As someone said below, this color is similar to the L'Oreal balm in "Rose Elixir". I loved that balm as far as the color in the tube, which I considered perfect for me. I was disappointed that the balm was so transparent and shiny that the color wasn't as apparent on my lips. And it was so slippery it lasted about a minute. The Flower lip butter solved those problems by giving me the color I was pining for, eliminating the excess shine, and still being a light lip butter instead of a lipstick. It also stays on longer because it clings to your lips more. If I drink something, some of the lip butter comes off, but enough stays on that my lips are still hydrated. It takes eating a meal to really make it go away. I am in the process of changing all my makeup to cruelty-free products. Flower is never tested on animals and is made in the U.S.A.

Palettes -FLOWER Beauty - Shadow play
lnajaar 2/24/2013 6:28:00 AM
I got the shadow quad in "Foxy Browns" - a shimmery taupe, a shimmery bronze, a matte cool dark brown, and a shimmery pale pink. The colors go well together and you can create subtle or dramatic looks. This is the most neutral palette and the colors would work on anyone. Like a lot of the Flower line, these are highly pigmented. You need to use a brush and a light hand with the darker colors. The shimmers are really more of a slight sheen that anyone can wear. There is a little fallout getting the shadow on a brush, but they go on smoothly and really cling to your skin. The texture is beautiful. I'm in the process of switching all my makeup to cruelty-free, and Flower is not tested on animals. It's also made in the U.S.A.

Mascara -FLOWER Beauty - Zoom-In Ultimate Mascara
lnajaar 2/21/2013 9:06:00 AM
This mascara is supposed to work three ways. One click for lengthening, two clicks for curling, and three clicks for thickening. I got the second and third clicks mixed up and wondered why it was curling and thickening at the same time! The brush is on the large side. I held it at the roots and slightly wiggled it and combed up. I did not curl my lashes prior, but this mascara definitely gave my lashes a long swept up look. The more I combed through my lashes, the more volume appeared. No clumps at all. Now, I'm the odd duck who doesn't like volume in a mascara. I like lengthening and curling only. When I figured out my mistake, I tried it on the second click, and I got the lengthening and curling with no volume that I wanted. I didn't care for the lengthening mascara in the deep purple tube in the Flower line. Perhaps they should make THIS the only mascara since it's so versatile. You really need to take the time to try this mascara out in it's different configurations to know if you like it. Flower Beauty NEVER tests on animals and is made in the U.S.A.

Lipstick -Revlon - Color Stay Ultimate Suede Lipstick
lnajaar 1/26/2013 2:26:00 PM
Well, this lipstick is a bust. It goes on smoothly and moisturizes your lips ... at first. As it dries, it turns as tacky as a fly catcher strip. I only recommend this if you want to catch bugs on your lips. Frogs are obviously the customers Revlon was aiming for.

Lips -L'Oreal - Colour Riche Balm
lnajaar 4/15/2012 6:57:00 PM
EDIT: Ditched this for the FLOWER Lip Service Lip Butter in "Princess and The Peony". It's the color and everything else I wanted from the L'Oreal balm, and no testing on animals. Win-Win. I bought this in Rose Elixir because rose is my best MLBB color. I'm not a fan of opaque lipstick, nor do I like high shine lip gloss. I really want something in between, so I look for balms. Many balms have been discontinued over the years, so I find myself searching for new ones. Right now, this is the best balm I can find. It is more transparent, slippery and shiny than I prefer. Although it's oil-based and shinier than I expected, it's not a glassy lip gloss shine. Everyone is talking about how this compares with Revlon's lip butters. I tried the rose shade in the Revlon product, and took an instant dislike to it. It was an unnatural opaque color, dry, and looked like it was sitting on the surface of my lips instead of blending with them. The L'Oreal balm looks like the color comes from the depths of my lips; much more natural. Plus, you can put it on without a mirror because there is no need to be precise. I found a blog with a very good picture of the balms swatched on an arm if you'd like to see the colors. You will see more color payoff than expected once the balm is built up. http://glamtrotter.com/loreal-balm-swatches/

Foundations -Cover Girl - Natureluxe Liquid Silk Foundation
lnajaar 1/31/2011 8:25:00 PM
Cover Girl customer service suggested I try Natureluxe foundation since their TruBlend Whipped foundation has been discontinued. Unfortunately, the chemical sunscreen stings my face the second I put it on. I have Rosacea, so I can't tolerate it. I suppose the foundation is decent otherwise, though I didn't think it looked as good as the TruBlend Whipped. I'm trying out the L'Oreal Magic Smooth Souffle instead.

This is the only lip color I use. Perfect formula and sheer, yet pigmented color. A beautiful Rose - not too dark; not too light. Nice thin tube. EDIT: DISCONTINUED.

Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Blast Length
lnajaar 1/26/2010 6:07:00 PM
Love it. I always look for length over volume. This is my Holy Grail right now. The trick is that you have to keep brushing it through because it deposits mascara in very thin even coats. I think that's the secret to why it separates so well without clumping. As I brush it through, I get more and more length and separation. In the end, my lashes are almost twice as long. It's rather effortless because I don't feel as if I have to fight with it.

Lipstick -Sephora - Lip Attitude - Glamour
lnajaar 1/26/2010 5:59:00 PM
I got this as a replacement for Sephora's old Gloss Stick which was discontinued. I adored it and it was my staple lipstick. I loved this product too, but had to quit using it. There was some ingredient that severely chapped my lips. I didn't heal until I discontinued this completely. Too bad, because it looked great. I am going to try the new Victoria's Secret Sheer Gloss Sticks instead.
