Toners -Clinique - Clarifying Lotion #4
llyangel 7/31/2009 12:36:00 PM
My first ever Clinique product and I just love it. This toner is fantastic. I have oily acne prone skin and I would never have believed a toner would be the answer to all my prayers. This really does controls my oily skin and my acne has magically improved almost from the first use. I had (Yes had - thanks to this miracle worker) bad breakouts along my jawline my problem area and this is the only thing that I have ever used that has cleared this up. My jawline for the first time in years looks clear and also feels clear, no lumpy spots lying under the skin. Yes this stuff is strong and stings a wee bit but I almost enjoy that now because I know its just working to exfoliate and cleanse my skin. I am hoping with continued use this will exfoliate and help with the scarring along my jawline also, fingers crossed. Honestly this product gets a rave review from me, I am so impressed, thank you Clinique !!!

Lipstick -MAC - Style Warriors- Brave New Bronze [DISCONTINUED]
llyangel 7/19/2009 6:01:00 PM
I am not in love with this colour on its own, I was expecting a lighter peachy nude when I placed my online order but its actually quite dark in colour and the satin texture is slightly drying. That being said with moisturised lips and Mac's lip erase in pale applied beforehand I really love this lipstick. The lip erase just softens and lightens the colour which is perfect for me and exactly the look I was hoping to achieve from the lipstick - the perfect peachy nude. It also looks lovely and can be transformed from blah to gorgeous with just the lipstick and then some lipgloss on top. So overall I'm glad I purchased, I will use and enjoy wearing but not 5 stars as its not perfect on its own, I do adore the packaging though.

Lipstick -MAC - Hello Kitty Fashion Mews
llyangel 7/12/2009 6:19:00 PM
Gorgeous pale pinky lavender colour which unfortunately pulls the yellow in my teeth - not attractive and for that reason I just can't wear it alone. I can just about pull it off with a pink gloss over the top but I would rather wear a lipstick that doesn't make me feel self conscious about the colour of my teeth.

Moisturizers -Elizabeth Arden - Visible Difference Refining Moisture Cream Complex (Creme Complexe Hydratante)
llyangel 6/26/2009 6:31:00 PM
This moisturiser comes in quite a large heavy glass pot and contains 75ml of product. The moisturiser itself is a white thick looking cream that almost looks as though its been whipped. The texture is strange, when I first used my fingertips to touch the product my finger almost skimmed over the product as if its some sort of gel/cream hybrid. I applied what little product had collected from skimming my fingertip across the surface and I spread over my face - a little goes a really long way with this cream. The smell is quite medicinal not unpleasant and it doesn't linger, that I can smell when its applied which is good I was worried that it was going to be too heavy to use as a day moisturiser but it really isn't. As I said the smallest amount covers my whole face and neck and it leaves a lovely finish. It feels like a luxury cream, moisturising but not greasy and heavy. It leaves a lovely velvety matte base for my foundation and I can apply make up immediately after application. My skin looks better straight after applying and it really does smooth out my skin. Its also gentle enough to use around my eyes without irrating them. I have been using this for the last two months and I really love it - no breakouts and my skin has never looked better. I'm really glad I purchased this product and will continue to repurchase, in fact I've already bought a couple of back ups.

Mascara -Christian Dior - Diorshow Black Out Mascara
llyangel 5/15/2009 7:37:00 PM
I love this mascara although at first I wasn't enthralled with the huge brush but I have got used to it over time. The formula of this mascara is what I love the most, the intense black colour and the formula isn't dry, I hate mascaras where you can't notice any product on the wand I always feel as though I've been conned out of lots of product but this has lots of product on the wand which I love. This doesn't smudge on me and it really lengthens and adds loads of volume to my lashes giving a really uniform long, volumised lash without clumping no matter how much I apply. This is my go to mascara for a dramatic lash look. I also love YSL faux cils but find i have to take more care in applying the YSL because sometimes it makes my lashes look long but messy, almost unruly and untidy at the ends which my Dior Blackout never does. This also holds a curl extremely well, a definite favourite of mine and probably the best mascara I have tried to date.

Eye Shadow -NARS - Tropic
llyangel 5/14/2009 10:21:00 AM
Teal is my favourite colour of all time so I was super excited to see this release from Nars. I ordered online and couldn't wait for this shadow to arrive. On opening I was suprised to see masses of glitter chunks. The colour itself is beautiful, it looks a light blue in the pan but on its definitely a deep teal, so I persevered and applied. There is so much glitter it's impossible to pick up any shadow without lots of glitter on it. I applied to my lid and the colour is divine but the glitter chunks do not stay on the lid instead falling down all over my face. The shadow left on my lid is a gorgeous matte colour. I would be so happy if this shadow came just as this beautiful matte shade and since the glitter doesn't stay on your lid anyway I'm left thinking what's the point. The glitter just makes this so messy to use and I already know I won't reach for this that often because I prefer eyeshadows that don't require so much work and cleaning up. I despise being left with glitter chunks all over my face and I know I could apply my foundation after my eye make up but I dont like to do this it always feels alien to me. All in all a gorgeous colour that to me has been ruined by the huge, pointless glitter and for that reason I am truly disappointed in this product. I had such high hopes but I honestly wish I hadn't broken my current make up spending ban for this item.

Mascara -Rimmel - Sexy Curves
llyangel 5/1/2009 5:44:00 PM
Okay i wasn't expecting to like this very much, even as I was buying I thought I was being suckered into trying this mascara due to the hype surrounding the funny wand. The wand is really unusual with those 3 ball shapes and the flexibility of the wand itself - very bendy, but I have to say I love the wand it really catches all of my lashes perfectly and coats and lengthens every lash. I think this is perfect for the inner and outer corner lashes that I sometimes find hard to catch. I don't think this volumises quite as well as i like but I do like a dramatic lash look even during the day so I apply a second coat using my Dior Blackout mascara and I am in love, this for me is the perfect combination, so instead of applying two coats of the same mascara, I use sexy curves followed by Dior Blackout. I mush prefer this combination as the Dior blackout with its huge wand doesn't catch all the lashes that the sexy curves wands does. The sexy curves doesn't clump and it doesn't smudge. This is now my favourite drug store mascara and I highly recommend it even though I was very skeptical at first - 4 stars only because I like a wee bit more volume.

Makeup Brushes -MAC - 181 small buffer brush
llyangel 5/1/2009 5:27:00 PM
I've had this brush a long time now and I couldn't live without it. I carry this around every day with my daily make bag. I can use this brush to apply any foundation I'm using daily, from studio fix, mineral make up to liquid foundation. This brush works flawlessly at applying liquid foundation blending and covering perfectly with minimal shedding especially compared to the 109. After using to apply my foundation I can then use for my bronzer which is usually Chanel bronze universel. I can then use the same brush for my blusher, cream or powder, sometimes both. I love the size of the brush and whilst it's not as soft as its big brother the 182, I think this is the very reason it works so well for buffing in and blending. I use a stippling motion over any areas I need more coverage and then blend out. I just love this brush - if you haven't used for liquid foundation yet - I urge you to try it.

Blush -NARS - Exhibit A
llyangel 5/1/2009 5:23:00 PM
I would never have thought this blush could work for someone as pale as me (nc15) but this blush is just gorgeous. I use my MAC 188 stippling brush and barely touch the surface, a light hand is a must. I apply to the apples of my cheeks and blend for the most perfect, natural rosy cheek. Who would have thought such a scary looking colour could look so natural. This blush is extremely pigmented, I only use a tiny amount of product each time which balances out the price as this will last a very, very long time.

Self Tanners -St.Tropez - Ultimate Tan Rapide Face
llyangel 5/1/2009 5:18:00 PM
St Tropez whipped bronze is my self tan of choice, I absolutely love it, it works amazing on my body and quite well on my face but I suspect it may have caused some breakouts and it also sank into pores leaving me with the dreaded blackhead look, so in a bid to look for something specifically designed for the face I tried this product. I bought the dark intense and i am naturally very fair - MAC NC15 usually for reference. It comes in a flexible tube with a pump at the end and a little product goes a long way, I can do my whole face on two pumps so although its only 50mls it does last a long time even with regular use. The self tanner itself is dark brown in colour,I apply with a cosmetic sponge or my fingers and it leaves a sheer colour guide which I like. This is incredibly moisturing (so much so I can skip moisturiser if I am in a hurry) and the colour develops after a couple of hours a deep but natural colour for my skintone matching my body perfectly. I sometimes build the colour by applying at night and in the morning too depending on how tan I want to look. As I am very fair this works perfectly for me but I would imagine it would take a few applications to build up the colour on someone whos skintone was darker than mine. I feel much more confident when I have applied this and as a result can use a lot less make up. It really gives a flawless finish to the face, it doesn't sink in and highlight pores and it wears beautifully - no patches in sight. I have been using this for a while now and It has not caused any breakouts on my acne prone skin. I honestly cannot imagine never using this again and I am not interested in trying any other self tanners as this is just absolutely perfect for my needs - I love it. I now have the perfect combination of self tan products, this for my face and the whipped bronze for my body.

Lipstick -Estee Lauder - Pure Color Long lasting lipstick Vanilla Truffle
llyangel 5/1/2009 5:08:00 PM
My first Estee Lauder lipstick and I am officially in love. This is the best ultra nude lipstick I have found. Its creamy, moisturising and a looks gorgeous on my skintone with and without fake tan. It doesn''t make my teeth look yellow either. I have been wearing this almost constantly since purchasing and I am extremely impressed with the quality of the lipstick. I love a nude lip and this is my favourite true nude yet.

Skincare - Body -LUSH - Therapy massage bar
llyangel 4/12/2009 8:28:00 PM
I'm sorry - but I just don't get it. It melts with the heat of my hand and makes the bar slippery and difficult to hold when applying. Its feels greasy and oily and sits on top of my skin. I don't like the smell either, quite herbal and it lingers. I got the tin with mine and struggled for over 5 minutes trying to open it. I really wanted to like this but I just don't - sorry to spoil the good reviews but I actually hate this product.

Lipstick -MAC - Cremesheen - Shy Girl
llyangel 3/28/2009 9:09:00 PM
My favourite Mac lipstick. If I could only choose one lipstick from Mac this would be it. Its the most gorgeous peachy nude thats brightens my face and makes my teeth look whiter. The formulation is smooth and creamy. This lipstick applies beautifully and I just adore the colour thank goodness this is permanent.

Eye Shadow -NARS - Bali
llyangel 3/28/2009 9:03:00 PM
This is my most used Nars eyeshadow. Its described on the Nars website as a neutral taupe which i think is quite accurate. The colour is a dark greyish brown. I use this to line my eyes when I don't want the harshness of black especially during the day. It is also one of my favourite crease colours and as an added bonus its also a great brow colour. I think some Nars shadows are a bit of a disappointment but this one is a winner in my opinon. Oh and I love the packaging of the Nars Singles - too cute!!

Pressed Powders -MAC - Beauty Powder in Peaceful
llyangel 3/9/2009 11:03:00 AM
Not only my favourite beauty powder but one of my favourite make up items ever. I love the packaging, i'm a huge fan of animal prints and this tiger print is just gorgeous. The powder is a peachy tan and I use this like a bronzer over my cheeks, nose, forehead, chin, jawline and neck. It's matte but luminous, my skin looks glowing but with no shimmer thankfully and it definitely does not highlight pores like MSF's can. I sometime use this just as a blusher too and I love it. I wish mac would re-release this exact product packaging and all as it makes me sad to know I only have one and won't be able to replace it.
