Lotions/ Creams -Cetaphil - Restoraderm skin restoring moisturizer

Okay, so I used my retin-a last night which I haven't used in a while. I used Cetaphil cleanser last night before applying my retin-a. This morning, woke up and washed my face with Cetaphil cleanser for normal to oily skin (I have both cleansers). Anyway, afterwards I applied Clique Moisturizing gel, then proceeded with my normal makeup. OMG, my skin was SO tight and aggravated. I realize I put my skin through a lot of drying w/ the retin-a, although I wouldn't expect one night to make much difference. Then I thought maybe it was the Cetaphil cleanser for oily skin- I like that product, but never used it consistently because I remember it being drying. I want to continue using it though and see what happens because I read some good reviews on here. I immediately ran to Rite-Aid and picked up this lotion. I'm a little freaked out though because it's not oil free, and I'm prone to breakouts with oily/combination skin, but very sensitive skin at the same time. I've been off and on of retin-a for years and have had skin problems since as long as I can remember. Although, it's not bad really, just aggravating because at 28 I feel like I shouldn't have to deal with stubborn skin and breakouts anymore. There is a couple of weeks out of the month where my skin is flawless but for the remainder it's a mess. I also don't have atopic skin or severely dry skin, so I'm not sure if this product is for me but I was desperate and my skin needed immediate relief. I knew none of my oil of olay products or gel lotions would do the trick, so I bought this on a whim, but again, a little nervous since it's not for acne prone skin. I'm keeping my fingers crossed and hoping for the best. I hope this is the product for me and will cure my sensitive yet oily/acne prone skin. I've tried everything else out there so we will see. I'll post an update in a few days, in case there is anyone like me out there struggling to find the perfect lotion for their face. I will say, I washed my face as soon as I got home, applied this lotion and feels good so far. My face is definitely not tight anymore, again worried about breakouts though :( Oh yeah, I rated a three since I don't know yet how this will work for me.

I bought this product a few weeks ago. At the time there were no reviews yet because it was so new. I always read reviews on here before buying a product, but I thought what the heck- guess I'll be the first to review it. Glad others have written post and had positive effects for the most part. I really liked this at first, and I think I still do. That sounds weird but my skin is weird. The first 2 weeks I thought this was the most amazing product. I could tell a difference in acne scars in the first couple of days. Granted, I don't have horrible scars, but enough redness that I feel uncomfortable not wearing makeup. Well, as I continued using (along with other moisturizer during the day) I got a few breakouts. To be fair, I can't blame that on this product. Like I said, my skin is weird and it seems like no matter what I always have the occasional breakout, no matter what product I'm using. It's frustrating because I am so conscious of my skin and take such good care of it- really I'm the last person that should get breakouts...but I know unfortunately that is not the way it works. I recently bought the Garnier gel moisturizer, which I must say, feels great. I've also recently purchased L'oreal Hydrafresh Toner after reading some good reviews. Yes, I'm a product whore. After I use those for a while I'll write reviews on those as well. Oh, and my skin in oily/combination and sensitive. I used to use retin-a and have been trying to find other alternatives because before too long my husband and I might start trying for a baby...and I know retin-a is a no no while trying to get pregnant and I want to make sure it's out of my system. So I'm desperately trying to get my skin used to other products and not be so reliant on retin-a. Fingers crossed! :)

Okay, I purchased the Trader Joe's brand a few months back. I tried it for a couple of days, not impressed so it's just been sitting on my bathroom shelf. I decided to give it another try, this time reading more about how people use it. I don't need it for moisture or anything, I like my moisturizer just fine and I have oily skin (I know they say this is good for oily skin) but my main goal is to cleanse clogged pores on my nose. For as long as I can remember I've had these plugged pores on my nose- sounds gross but yes, I can squeeze the goop out- of course I try not doing that. It is SO frustrating to me because I take very very good care of my skin. I've gone to a dermatologist on and off since middle school (28 now and STILL suffering). I can't imagine going the rest of my life battling clogged pores on my nose. I know it could be a lot worse, but I just want to feel like my skin is clean and looks clean, even way up close. My sister was on accutane when she was in highschool which dried up all her pores, she is for real, poreless. Me not so much with my oily skin. I'm determined to fix this problem- it's been talking up way too much of my time buying products and trying to find ways to get rid of clogged pores. By the way, I'm on Retin-A micro. I was off of it for a few months but recently got back on it. It works well for a lot of things, but did nothing for the pores on my nose (I was on it for a couple of years prior to starting back). Yesterday and today I've started my oil cleanse and can tell it's dissolving my clogged pores a little- but my face if sort of red right now because I'm sure I over did it a little. I'm also trying putting a layer on top of my moisturizer before makeup- I read this helps keep your foundation from clogging your pores. I'll report back after a few days!
