Eye Primer -E.L.F. - Studio Line Eye Primer Liner Sealer
ljanik01 9/5/2012 4:27:00 PM
Amazing primer. I work 9 hour shifts in a poorly air conditioned shop and have to do a lot of lifting. At the end of the day my eyeshadow looked freshly applied. Not sure why they call it liner SEALER- as someone pointed out, it's actually for transforming any color shadow into a liner, and it's great for that as well. I live ELF- dirt cheap, well packaged, great quality products. :)

Styling Products -Organix - Renewing Moroccan Argan Penetrating Oil

Absolutely fantastic. I bleach my dark brown hair to platinum blond every 5-6 weeks this keeps it looking healthy and shiny. I use a lot- i have a pixie cut and use a silver dollar sized amount on wet hair. It absorbs completely, never feels or looks oily. I will be very upset if it's ever discontinued!

BB Cream -Garnier - BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfector - Light/Medium
ljanik01 8/13/2012 11:17:00 AM
This is my absolute favorite skin product. I am 35 with fair combination skin, a little redness but nothing major. This product does exactly what I was hoping for- light coverage, mousturizing, no oiliness. It just makes my skin look fresher and healthier and more even with no heaviness. And I love that it contains sunscreen! BB and a light dusting of loose powder are all I need. I will be very upset if it gets discontinued!

Liquid -Maybelline - Instant Age Rewind foundation
ljanik01 3/4/2008 5:58:00 PM
Best foundation I have ever used. I couldn't be happier. I bought this with the matching powder on a BOGO promotion at Rite Aid without expecting very much and I am so pleased. Porcelain Ivory is an exact match with my very pale skin. The texture is light but still covers the slight redness around my nose and on my cheeks and makes my pores nearly invisible. It wears very well and I barely even have to touch up my T-zone with powder after a day at work. I'm thrilled to find a reasonably priced product that's nicely packaged and easy to find which WORKS. I hope they never discontinue it!

Polishes -Unlisted Brand - Incoco Dry Nail Applique
ljanik01 1/18/2008 9:32:00 AM
I picked this up at walgreens purely out of curiosity, as I actually enjoy giving myself regular manicures and never had a problem with making a mess. I thought the color selection was nice but I was a little disappointed with the process. I don't have particularly large nail beds but I found the sizes a bit too small-there was always a sliver of unpainted nail on one side, which is a huge pet peeve of mine. I ended up having to use a size too large for each nail and trimming off the excess, which means that each package will only be good for one manicure. Applying was tricky at first but I got the hang of it after a while, and I imagine it will get easier. I can't comment on durability because I only used it yesterday but I do love the colors and it does look nice and shiny. I guess my main gripes are the size of the strips and and resulting expense-for $5 I could buy a whole bottle of polish good for several uses, not just one or two. I would buy it again mainly for the novelty and also to try out some of the pale colors-I do have trouble applying light colors uniformly and end up with about 3 coats, which takes ages to dry. Overall, worth a try but no substitute for traditional polish.

Eye Primer -Urban Decay - Eyeshadow Primer Potion - Original (UDPP)

I really can't believe this stuff. I put on eyeshadow this morning at 6:30 am. It's now 7pm and it's still on like I just applied it with only the tiniest trace of creasing. Amazing!

Polishes -Revlon - Get Reddy
ljanik01 10/14/2007 9:52:00 PM
Lovely red- beautiful for autumn and the holiday season. Some reds don't suit me as I'm very pale but I think the gold shimmer makes it flattering to all skin tones. And as always, Revlon polishes and a nice consistency and last a reasonably long time without chipping. My favorite nail polish brand along with OPI.

Eyeliner -L'Oreal - HiP Color Truth Cream Eyeliner
ljanik01 10/14/2007 9:29:00 PM
What a fantastic product! I don't usually wear eyeliner, even though I love it, because it always ends up smudging or flaking off and irritating my eyes and I end up with that black goo in the corner of the eye-not attractive. I also have trouble applying it as well as I'd like. This product goes on smoothly, the color is absolutely true, it's creamy and easy to apply and workable for as long as it takes to get the right shape I want and then it doesn't budge. It stays on literally ALL DAY and looks newly applied. It is more expensive than most drugstore brands but is significantly cheaper than the luxury brands and just as good quality, if not better. It's perfect for whatever look you like- a thin line or the dramatic cat's eye swoop. Even the packaging is nice- a sleek little glass pot that I would not be ashamed to keep on my dressing table. The brush is nothing special, I'm using mine as a lip brush, but that's no big deal. I'm definitely getting more colors and I hope it never gets discontinued!

Lip Gloss -Rimmel - Loud Mouth - Pout
ljanik01 10/1/2007 7:38:00 PM
I have this in sinner and smooch- these colors are practically identical, except sinner is slightly darker and more burgundy while smooch is a bit pinker. The product has a very soothing consistency and a nice light scent. It's not highly pigmented and doesn't last that long but it's no worse than most drugstore brands and as someone mentioned, it does wear off very evenly so you don't end up with a ring around your lips. It's more colored than a gloss but not quite as pigmented as most lipsticks. I don't find much of a difference in the color when it's layered up, perhaps it's a bit more intense. I like the snap-lid packaging style as opposed to a twist-off (I always end up dropping lids on the floor in public bathrooms-gack!), but it cracks very easily. I wish there were a wider rangee of colors, something more red would be nice.

Lipstick -Maybelline - Superstay lipcolor
ljanik01 10/1/2007 7:34:00 PM
As far as long-lasting lipcolors go, of those I've tried this one is the lesser of all evils. I bought "wine", which is actually more of a bright red than the burgundy I was expecting, but it looks surprisingly good with my very fair/cool skin tone. It lasted for about 4 hours before starting to peel, and I did eat a very messy meal during that time! It's better than some other I've tried because it doesn't feel as dry on the lips, but it is still drier than regular lipstick. One piece of advice I can offer for application is to wipe some of the product off the sponge with a tissue and sort of color in your lips as quickly as possible-this wastes some product but prevents as much bleeding into the lipline. if you really need a long-lasting product for a wedding or something, this is the one I'd recommend, but I won't buy any more for everyday wear. I have concluded that these so called super-long lasting lip products just aren't for me, they are too tricky to apply, inevitably lead to peeling, dry lips and come in limited colors.

Lipstick -L'Oreal - Colour Riche Lipstick
ljanik01 10/1/2007 7:22:00 PM
I'm not giving this product a good review, although I have to confess that I own about 5 different colors! The thing that attracts me to color riche is that there is a huge range of shades and many of them are really nice, but the product itself is not very high quality. I find it to have a very waxy texture and not a very high concentration of pigment. So, while it does feel nice on the lips, it doesn't last long at all. I really have to apply it heavily to get a color as true as I'd like and this ends up feeling goopy and smeary. I wish it were a better product because of the colors, but alas, it's not.

Lipstick -L'Oreal - Colour Riche - Target Red
ljanik01 10/1/2007 7:18:00 PM
The color is a cool red, but it's not very highly pigmented and doesn't last very long. I'll probably use it but wouldn't repurchase, I'm sticking with my Revlon certainly red or mulled wine for my everyday red. Not very impressed with the packaging for this product, it looks terribly cheap.

Polishes -L'Oreal - Silver Star Nail Polish
ljanik01 10/1/2007 7:13:00 PM
Another limited edition. Silver Star is a completely opaque metallic silver. Excellent staying power (why is it that metallics always seem to last longer?), good consistency and fairly quick drying time. Stayed chip-free on my toes for nearly a month! I love this color, it's so versatile, good for day and funky enough for night.

Polishes -L'Oreal - Patent Black Silver Nail Polish
ljanik01 10/1/2007 7:10:00 PM
Found this at Rite Aid as a limited edition. It's a great color, ink black with a subtle silver glimmer. Basically a knock off of Chanel's black satin at a fraction of the price. Great consistency, doesn't take overly long to dry and good staying power. I find that very opaque, dark colors don't last as long but this stayed chip free for a good five days with a topcoat. Too bad it's a limited edition!

Lipstick -L'Oreal - Color riche star secrets - Penelope red 710
ljanik01 3/8/2007 2:30:00 PM
That's strange, I am very pale with very dark hair and brown eyes and I found this shade very flattering. i don't see any shimmer in the color at all either. Anyway I really love this red, it does have orange undertones but I definitely wouldn't say it LOOKS orangey. Usually I have to blot red lipstick but this one is nice because I can apply it "full strength", so to speak, without looking clownish! And I feel like I can wear it casually during the day without looking too made up as long as I keep my eye makeup simple. It's a nice color for women who like to make red their trademark look. Color Riche has a nice, creamy texture but it's not very heavily pigmented so it doesn't last that long. But, the texture being how it you can sort of feel when your lips need a touch up, anyway that's something I enjoy. For drugstore brands Revlon is definitely the best in terms of quality/pigment but this one isn't half bad. I would probably buy it again if I weren't like the previous poster who is constantly on the hunt for the next perfect shade of red! I must have about 12 now...:) Funny thing I noticed- the shade of thiss lipstick does seem to change a bit depending on what colors you're wearing! I put it on yesterrday while wearing a light purple sewater and it looked rather odd but with neutral colors or black it looks great.
