Toners -Jack Black - 3-In-1 Clear Complexion Solution: Razor Bump And Acne Treatment
lizzy666 3/13/2012 12:29:00 PM
I've been using this stuff for five weeks, so I feel it's a good time to add a review. It's amazing. It's made for use after shaving, to help razor bumps and blemishes. I don't shave my face so I just use it as a toner one to two times a day. Since using it, my face has cleared up tremendously. It also feels really soft and is looking more even in tone and texture. In fact, after the first use I saw a difference in my skin. That morning when I looked in the mirror, these icky bumps I'm prone to were significantly reduced in number, and a lot of them were just dried up little patches. That's the only problem I have, that it can be drying. I'm currently looking for a moisturizer that won't break me out to fix this, but honestly I can live with it. Before using it my skin was literally at it's worst, it was embarrassing and made me really hate looking in the mirror. This got rid of my clogged pores, cysts, and whiteheads that I was suffering from. Although the cysts took longer than anything else to go away, they were calmed down immediately. This does all the heavy lifting in my routine, and for the occasional monster that shows up, I use Origins super spot remover, which I will also be reviewing. I will continue to purchase, and I'm going to try not to stray to something I think will be "better". I paid $25.00 for 6 ounces. Here are the ingredients and product claims: What it is formulated to do: 3-in-1 Clear Complexion Solution treats and helps eliminate razor bumps, acne blemishes, and blackheads as it acts as an astringent for oily and acne-prone skin. What else you need to know: A blend of two percent salicylic acid and lactic acid exfoliate the top layer of dead skin cells, exposing the trapped facial hairs that cause razor bumps. Also works to dissolve the pore-clogging oils that cause acne and blackheads. Hyaluronic acid soothes skin and provides sheer, oil-free hydration to counteract dryness and irritation. Certified organic green tea, chamomile, aloe vera, and willowherb also help clear, clarify, and smooth the skin. Dermatologist-tested. Fragrance-free. Colorant-free. Active Ingredients: 2% Salicylic Acid. Other Ingredients: Water (Aqua), SD40-Alcohol, Propylene Glycol, Sodium Lactate (Lactic Acid), Methyl Gluceth-20, Sodium Bicarbonate, Hyaluronic Acid, Galactoarabinan, Allantoin, Aloe Barbadensis Extract, Camillia Sinensis (Green Tea) Extract*, Anthemis Nobilis (Chamomile) Extract*, Epilobium Angustifolium (Willowherb) Extract, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Extract, Sorbic Acid, Disodium EDTA. * Certified Organic.

Foundations -Rimmel - Clean Finish
lizzy666 8/25/2011 6:48:00 PM
This foundation is fantastic. The spatula is silly but the formula is lovely. It feels so light, the coverage is natural looking, and it has pretty decent wear time. Unfortunately though, the lightest color they offer is about two shades too dark for me. I kinda knew that would happen but tried it anyway. I just blend like there's no tomorrow, apply lightly and barely touch my jawline with the stuff, making it sort of like a natural gradient. Hey, it works. The most important part is that it has not caused breakouts, at all, and I've been watching very carefully. I paid $4.50 at walgreens. In a world where even the lowliest of foundations is $7-8 bucks (like cover girl clean), I appreciate the budget friendly price and the good quality rimmel has delivered. I will buy again, if I can. I'll be much too light for this by winter, sadly.

Hair Color -Clairol - Natural Instincts - Spiced Tea
lizzy666 3/3/2011 4:39:00 PM
Oh no, no no no. They discontinued my loving care in Aurburn. I literally had people stop me and tell me how beautiful my hair was when using it. No one thought it was from a bottle. It covered my roots and faded gracefully. It also helped me heal my hair while maintaining color since it never damaged it. Anyway, Alisa from Clairol said this was the next best thing. Even though my gut told me this was going to be pink toned, I was desperate and went for it. First off, this didn't even touch my roots. At all. The rest of my hair is a pink ruby red. This won't fool anyone. Luckily natural instincts washes out way before 28 shampoos. I'll never touch this crap again.

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Madre Perla Fade Cream
lizzy666 1/3/2011 9:10:00 AM
I actually really like this. I bought this about a year ago at rite aid and used it a few times, then put it away. At first I was putting it all over my face but I didn't like the feeling of film it left and was worried about breakouts, so I stopped using it. But when I did use it, I saw an immediate difference, especially when leaving it on over night. Recently I had a spot I picked at, then dried out with BP, then the skin flaked off leaving a huge (about the size of a dime) red mark. BRIGHT red! I put some of this on at night with a band aid over it and the next morning it was just slightly pink and the ragged edge of dry skin had disappeared. The next three days I've been applying it as a spot treatment and now it's pretty much gone. A little pink, but blends right in with my skin tone. I started spot treating with it on other marks and I just can't believe how well it works. If you're concerned about the film it leaves and don't want to risk breakouts, using it as a spot treatment is the way to go. I wish I hadn't put this away when I did, lord knows I needed it more then! I'm tempted though to use it as an all over mask again because it never did cause breakouts, I was just paranoid after I finally cleared my skin up after 12 years of suffering! You get a ton of product for a very small price, I believe I paid 6 dollars. I feel a tingle when using it on raw spots, but it doesn't burn. I'm very happy!

Lipstick -Lime Crime - Airborne Unicorn
lizzy666 11/15/2010 5:27:00 PM
I'm so in love with this lipstick! It's creamy, smells good, and is a really gorgeous lavender color with pink tones. I bought this for the name though...lol the tube is adorable, has a sparkley unicorn on it! The lipstick is great, but it's not unique. It's $16.00. I recommend it simply for cute factor, but if you're only interested in the color you can find it anywhere.

Fragrances -Johnson & Johnson - Baby Cologne- Original Blue Bottle
lizzy666 10/27/2010 11:08:00 AM
Ooooh do I love this! Sometimes I just don't want to wear any of my perfumes, but want to smell good, and thats when this comes in handy. It smells a lot like the Johnsons baby shampoo. There is no alcohol, I checked several times. It's actually kind of moisturizing, it makes my skin very soft. The scent is light and clean, and on me lasts for maybe 2-3 hours (I have an oilier skin type though, so scents last a bit longer on me). It's cheap, about $2.99 a bottle. I like this because it makes me smell like I just got out of the shower. It's a noticeable scent, but it won't assault anyones nose. It's just a little touch of something nice when someone gets close. My SO likes this on me, one of the only fragrances he can stand. :D

Moisturizers -Unlisted Brand - Swanson Premium Niacin Skin Cream
lizzy666 10/21/2010 2:02:00 PM
I am so in love with this! Lately I've been on a niacin/niacinamide kick, and while I thought my GoW order with niacinamide powder was lost, I ordered this. It's 2 oz. for 5.99. The first few ingredients are your typical base, glycerin, triglycerides, dimethicone, then you get to the good stuff: Niacin, niacinamide, urea, oregano, lavender, lemon, goldenseal, peppermint, olive leaf, etc. There is no smell, and it's incredibly rich. A very small amount is needed to cover your entire face and neck. It applies smoothly. The first night all my dryness was gone, including this horrible red scaley patch I had from a chemical burn. I woke up, washed my face, and felt my skin. It was so soft...almost unnaturally soft! A week later, my skin is breakout free (I was worried about the dimethicone), smooth, and the redness from old spots is almost completely faded. I'm most surprised about my clogged pores, they're gone. I'm 23, so I don't notice aging benefits, but I believe due to the ingredients that this cream would be perfect for mature skin. It currently has 9 reviews on swansonvitamins.com, and they're all glowing. Swanson Vitamins has some amazing products btw, including a hyaluronic acid serum for 6 bucks my mom can't live without.

Moisturizers -Olay - Complete UV Protection Moisture Lotion Combinaton/Oily Skin SPF15
lizzy666 9/26/2010 7:58:00 PM
Angry rant ahead: This used to be the only moisturizer that wouldn't break me out. In fact, for the longest time this made my skin beautiful, creamy looking, matte and healthy. I've had clear skin for a year now after much trial and error, unfortunately this new version destroyed that. It's greasy, heavy, strongly scented, and utterly horrendous. I had cysts all over my face within days. I was red, blotchy, itchy and bumpy. My face looked like something out of horror movie. Olay, you are no longer my friend. I lost the receipt, so now I use it to shave my legs. It's actually pretty good as a shaving cream, but not worth the 9 dollars. Save your face and ignore this until Olay comes to it's senses and brings back the old formula. I don't understand how you can take something with ingredients that are perfectly fine and replace them with things that are useless and harmful. :(

Bath Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Grandpa Brands Pine Tar Soap
lizzy666 8/31/2010 8:06:00 AM
This cleared up my acne, plain and simple. Everything I was using stopped working, and I began getting cysts again. I bought this just to make my skin soft and ward off mosquitos, but I figured I'd use it on my face too. Within three days my overall skin texture looked great, not as bumpy. My cysts were still there but they were drying up. Anyway, my skin is completely clear now. It definitely is great as a preventative measure because this week I was due for 4-5 cysts...never got them! It doesn't over dry my skin at all. Sometimes I don't even use moisturizer after. It's great for your body, rashes and itchies just go away and it makes you soooo soft. It stinks, but it doesn't linger on your skin. I don't even feel the smell is that offensive, really. I buy mine from swansonvitamins.com, they sell the largest bars(4.25 oz) for 2.84 each and 3 packs for 7.39. I buy the three packs because I always know someone who could use one of these bars! They last a long time too, but I need to buy more asap because I gave all of them away lol

Mascara -Kiss Me - HEROINE MAKE long and curl mascara (black)
lizzy666 8/28/2010 3:43:00 PM
Wow guys, you weren't kidding when you said it does NOT come off! That's actually the reason I bought this, one for me and one for my mom. We both like it a lot. It's very wet, which I normally don't like, but it still does what I want. It takes a lot of brushing through for me, in order to seperate my lashes and give them that extreme length. It's not clumpy, just goopy, so you'll need to work with it. I already have long lashes but this made them go PAST my eyebrows. It was actually a little annoying because they were getting tangled in my bangs and brows. But amazingly, it didn't flake! Didn't smudge! Didn't come off when I washed my face! I was expecting it to at least get a little spider lashy after getting all wet, but they just fanned right out again! I'm really happy with this. I had stopped wearing mascara because they all left black flakes on my face, which would melt into my foundation and be impossible to clean up without doing my face over. Now I don't need to worry. And my mom likes it because now she can run out of the house early in the morning and still have mascara on from the day before! I'm buying a tube for my sister to see if she likes it when she goes scuba diving. Payed 23$ for two on ebay. A+

Hair Color -Clairol - Loving Care ] [DISCONTINUED]
lizzy666 8/28/2010 3:31:00 PM
I use this in Auburn. I naturally have dirty blonde hair, darker in the winter, lighter in the summer. I started dying my hair red several years ago with permanent color, it was destroying my hair. I looked more like a frizzy haired clown than a red headed vixen. So I decided to try loving care because my roots kind of adapt when they grow in to whatever color my hair is dyed, and I don't have grays. I also have very thick, curly hair. I leave it in for 45 minutes to let it really sink in, and it washes out easily. It leaves my hair healthy looking, with a great natural red color. The color fades in about 2 weeks for me, but it fades gracefully. I've been using it for the past year every month or so, and now my hair is back to good health. My mother also uses this to keep her red vibrant, but uses a level three for her roots so she does minimal damage. It used to be around 3 bucks a bottle but now it's around 7.99 by me. Kind of pricey for a semi but I stock up when it's on sale. Overall, I recommend it, especially if you're trying to get your healthy hair back without compromising color.

Treatments -Mario Badescu - Drying Cream
lizzy666 8/12/2010 4:12:00 PM
I love this stuff! For me, it doesnt *dry* out a spot unless I popped it. BUT it brings deep cysts to a head in a matter of hours for me. I had a spot on my cheekbone that hurt so much, and the only thing that helped was putting this drying cream on it, rubbing it in (it matches my skin tone very well when rubbed in), and going about my day. When I got home, it had come to a head! Though I'd rather have them not show up in the first place, or go back from whence they came, having it come to a head so it can heal by the next day is just as good. It definitely doesn't cause that awful dried out scab that some spot treatments produce. If you were to buy this, I'd recommend it for difficult to treat cysts and pimples. I'm not sure what it would do for whiteheads, it certainly won't dissolve them, but maybe make them easier to extract.

Loose Powders -Unlisted Brand - Pearl powder
lizzy666 6/9/2010 8:36:00 PM
I bought my 100% pure pearl powder from a reputable local seller off ebay. It was 7 dollars for 1.9 ounces. I was reading some articles about how pearl powder is great for acne prone skin, as well as aging skin. It contains about 20-26 (depending on the source) amino acids, plus protein and calcium. It's claimed that the nutrients in pearl powder is readily absorbed into the skin cells. It also has healing properties, and has been used on wounds in china to help speed healing. Anyway, I use mine several ways. The first is a mask, I just mix it with water, or even just apply the powder straight to my face. I noticed the first day 2 horrible zits I had went down by about 80%. My blackheads were less noticeable and my skin was not oily. This is supposed to refine the texture of skin and lighten spots as well. For me, it does this. I apply it at night now as an over all treatment and although it's drying, it made a drastic improvement in my skin. I use CeraVe cream during the day to help the dryness I experience. There's a lot of info on pearl powder, including the last empress of china using it, and being known for her gorgeous complexion. I also use it under my powder makeup, it helps it stay on longer and helps the oil production. Overall, I love it. I was a skeptic, but now a believer. Differin wasn't doing what I wanted, and this made up for the lacking blemish control. Not to mention my skin is healing at an amazing rate, scars included. My skin isn't luminous, but it's getting there. Love! Edit: oops! forgot to mention this is an amazing spot treament if you just make a paste with water and apply it.

Moisturizers -Eucerin - Redness Relief Perfecting Lotion with spf 15
lizzy666 5/17/2010 8:47:00 AM
I love this lotion, more than anything I own. I'm extremely fair skinned, and redness is an every day issue. Anything that touches my face will leave it red for about an hour, and of course any marks I have from spots show up like red lights! I bought this because I was desperate. I put it on as soon as I got home and from that moment I knew it was love. It evened out my skin to such a beautiful creamy color, and still managed to look natural. I know some ladies here have a problem with a green cast, for some reason it doesn't show up on me. I just use a little concealer now on my bad red marks and I'm done. This has allowed me to stop wearing makeup and I'm so happy! It's been about 3 1/2 weeks and I definitely see an improvement in my overall tone as well. I'm excited to see if it keeps improving. The spf, though only 15, is adequate for me. It must be removed extremely well though, I've noticed if I don't use astringent after I wash this off, I'll get a few clogged pores. But that's an issue with all sunscreens I think. Love this, and from now on I'll be buying the two packs from amazon.com, $23 dollars with free shipping. P.S. I usually don't have a problem with it sitting in pores, but when I do I take a clean concealer brush and rub the areas in a circular motion.

Liquid -Neutrogena - Healthy Skin Liquid Makeup SPF 20 (2009 formulation)
lizzy666 5/13/2010 8:45:00 AM
The color was really good, I got the lightest shade available. But to me this is like CG clean makeup. It doesn't really offer anything to me. It looks great when I first put it on, and then in about an hour it's all over the place, greasy, smudgey...gross looking in general. 100% no staying power. No breakouts which is good, but for me this is just useless. I keep trying it to see if it'll work, but it never does. It actually makes me look worse than I would without makeup. :( But, if you want a really simple, basic foundation, try it (or try CG clean, its practically identical in formula and wear).
